I’ve been loading on my Dillon 550 for 25+ yrs , I’ve loaded thousands of rounds on it. Within the last 5 or 6 yrs I bought a Dillon 650, it’s almost same as your 750, but the priming system is not the same. Your 750 is the same as my 550, and it’s a much better and user friendly system. Wish I could convert the 650 to old system but I’m used to this way now. I even bought a whole separate system for large primers so I didn’t have to tear it all apart to change primer size. If your not familiar with it. Watch a TH-cam vid on the 650 and you’ll see what I’m talking bout. But anyway. You’ll grow to really love reloading. I started out to save money and got so involved in it. I found myself loading way more than shooting. Built a whole reloading room in my pole barn , heated it. AC also and I find myself out there loading or building AR’s. All I load now on my 550 is rifle and my 650 is all pistol. I invested in the Dillon RT1500 trim motor and the trim die to convert 223 brass into 300 BO cases. But anyway. Your correct if your new to it. Go slow, pay attention and have fun. Love all Dillon products. They are best in the business. And they stand behind 100% their NO BS warranty. No questions at all. I’ve called on wore out things from my 550. And they send out replacement part. I’ve got a few not many vids on some of my reloading. I bought two used 650s that had been knocked off a bench and left in the corner of a garage to rust for several years. I rebuilt both of them myself and sold one and that was the best education on the Dillon presses I could imagine. The case feeder is a indispensable part of the press, you lose a large part of the advantage of a progressive press if you hand feed cases. I sold one to a shooting buddy and the 650 I kept stays configured for 9mm. But I also have a 550 that I use for 38/357,40S&W, 223/5.56, 45 acp and 300blk.
I would highly recommend getting the Dillon Primer Flip Tray. It is large and heavy for what it does not some barely large enough cheap plastic tray that ends up in the trash because you spill primers every time you use it. I purchased the case feeder with my press and have never regretted it. My first press was a Dillon 550B and one of the first things I wanted was a case feeder. That was 30 years ago before Dillon offered a case feeder for the 550.
If I were telling anyone how to set up their Dillon 659/750 I would HIGHLY recommend them getting the automatic case feeder right away and also the Dillon RF100 Automatic Primer Filler, if you do a lot of shooting/reloading they are must have items, they save you a lot of time. Also the optional roller handle is also a no brainer. My $.02.
I agree about the handle. I sit sideways to the press, so my arm goes left/right instead of forward/backward to pull the lever. The ball is great for me.
Filling the case tube by hand but having several prefilled primer tubes bc it slows your rhythm to stop and fill them while reloading is contradictory advice 🙈
Helpful, especially regarding "if it doesn't feel right" isms. I agree about the roller handle. I bought one and later wondered why. Powder Check and Primer Check are 2 must-haves. While the tool rack is not needed, the wrench (can be bought separately) is needed. Lastly, your American flag is hanging up wrong. The blue field is always at the top left. Not buying all the accessories right off is good advice, in general. However, I’ve found that I really like the UFO light kit I put on my 550, the roller handle is much nicer for me than the ball, the tool kit mounted right on the press keeps them organized and always where I need them, the bullet and case trays allow for better ergonomics and the after-market primer slide kit has eliminated any priming problems I used to have. YMMV BTW, you should turn your flag around. The stars should always be on the left.
Yeah. I was holding off because my b day is coming up and the wife is always complaining she doesn't know what to get me. I'll probably end up with socks. :(

Great video, thanks. But I respectfully disagree about the case feeder. I believe it’s a necessity on the 750. I ordered one a week after starting on the press and it was the best $300 I ever spent.
@@richardbristol452 It's only a necessity if you want to really crank out the ammo. I was in no hurry and I can crank it out pretty quick. I have a routine for staying seated while reloading the case tube. But after several months I finally bought one. It is a great addition.
It’s possible that Dillon fixed the minor issue but you mentioned if you see powder around the shell plate something is wrong. Well on my 650 and most of the ones I’ve seen it just means you have been loading ammo. I have tried everything and some helped some didn’t but especially on .223 it is IMPOSSIBLE to load ammo and not make a mess. I now just keep a can of air on bench and clean it off every hour or so depending on caliber and powder used.
You're going to have powder for sure. I did notice while loading .223 that I had to pause just a bit so the powder charge had time to flow into the case.
Regarding the light: DAA has a light set which offers an adjustable brightness. I have one and it‘s really useful. Regarding the case feeder: I‘m shooting IPSC and seriously I would never ever give the case feeder back. Regarding the scale: I recommend buying 2 different scales if you do not have the possibility to compare it with another one. Regarding the caliber: I agree 100%. This could be also dangerous if you have a cheap one.
So I agree with you there is definitely a need to get used to the press first. So if I had to guess what spare parts you have had to replace primer magazine alignment tip. Powder fail safe bushing.
There is no way you are loading 100 rounds in six minutes (1k/hr) without a case feeder. In fact, I doubt you can load 1k in an hour even with a case feeder under ideal conditions. 600 is far more realistic. Also, the roller handle is a must for long loading sessions.
Using an owner's manual guarantees speed and accuracy. 20 minutes figuring out what went wrong and spending another 20 min reading how to solve it is not efficient.

A progressive press without a case feeder is seriously hamstrung. The roller handle is worlds better than the ball handle.
