Hahahah. Got halfway through vid before I realized it a rzr and not the krx. Lol.
Yeah the KRX has a really good ratio from factory. After this upgrade it was almost exact same as the KRX
Make sure your belt Alignment spot on if its by like1/8th inch will burn up belts quick!
Agreed. We got it and it has been working with no issues.
Nice video. Just curious, is the gear reduction across all gear ranges? I’m no the ledge about doing one on my 19 1k.
Yes the double we installed affects high and low range. You can get a low range only but I was worried about the spread between them.
@@XpensiveDecisions I’m leaning towards the 25% just for the simplicity. I’m currently stock with a dalton clutch kit running 32 zillas. It does very well for what it is. I twisted my front prop shaft in two this weekend so it’s looking like time to do some upgrades
@@head458 Would definitely help out, I didn’t have many issues until I went with sticky zillas. Did a gear reduction after replacing belts almost every ride. My last ride claimed the front diff and a sandcraft drive shaft
@@XpensiveDecisions ewwwwww. I went with the full rhino cv prop shaft. We gonna see how it holds up
@@head458 they are good. Blue highlifter in videos has that set up. He is running 35 zillas
What Satv Part Numbers did you use?
Size Tires?
I am torn currently about doing this. im trying to figure out my % reduction that i want.
17 xp1000 on 32s with giloman tune and clutch kit. wanna go to 34/35s
trails/rocks/ is my normal. its not dedicated crawler.
Your setup seems to move very very easy with light throttle
I like it a lot. I wish high wasn’t as low, I am turning some RPM.
The whole kit is GRK-P-RAN-001-K
Has GRK-1-33-001 and GRK-P-RAN1K-12
@@XpensiveDecisions Are you on 35s? Can you still maintain 65Mph in high?
@@zeks05 I am running 32s and it will go 65 but haven’t tried to maintain for a long time. At 50 mph it’s over 6k rpm.
@@XpensiveDecisions well accordingf to OEM end of shift phase is 8000-8500 for 55mph. so with my tune mine will run up to 9200.
Do you think it lowed your high gear more then you thought it would. i have been looking into the parts seems they lower the the % between the gears like the reduction is the same % across the board so to speak.
@@zeks05 I don’t do a lot of higher speed driving so it works fine for me. I do like lowering high range bc I think the split between the extra low and a factory high would be too spread out. Mine is really comparable to the trails and rocks factory gearing now and the factory KRX gearing.
What size tires do you have?
The rzr xp1000 had 32s on it. Can fit 35s with forward a-arms
Looking doing gear reduction on a 2018 xp4 1000 running a hunterworks thick belt right now which helped allot but we carry allot of weight 4 kids so it's basically a school bus so how does it handle on the trails as far as speed in low on trails
Really great. It does so well that another friend that rides with us installed on his 2021 XP 1000 4 seat and he said it is a whole new machine.
Thank you for your help this is our first machine and we're learning on the fly
@@nathanmatthews3102 that’s why we do it. To maybe help someone get a step or two ahead. We have learned a few hard lessons.
@@XpensiveDecisions I would say so thanks again!!
Do you guys like that sand craft drive shaft I just ordered one for mine
Yeah it works great. I haven’t broke or hurt it yet.
Thanks for the info
@@pete1735 No problem. That’s why we do some of the tech videos and not just riding.
What are the percentages in low high in reverse?
It was a 37% overall. It was a 12% and 25% kit. Never really noticed a change to reverse. Low and high was a big difference. If I had to do again I wouldn’t get as much. Really affected normal road driving.
@@XpensiveDecisions I'm looking to do one on my xp 1000 also. What do you recommend?
@@montanamav8941 difficult to answer, how do you ride? What is main way you use machine? What size tires? Any extra weight added to machine?
@@XpensiveDecisions I ride alot of mountain trails and rocks. I also run down fire roads. 32s. I'd like to have a lower gear but also keep my high for running down the road
@@montanamav8941 I would go with the 13% or the 25%. 25 will hurt some road riding but will be a lot better for the tough trails
You may have said it but what % reduction did you go with?
37% overall. 12 and 25 kit.
