Getting tired of this. He didn't betray her! He was there all the time for both of them. She should have known and understood his reasons. He couldn't very well let Mastani be treated like a prostitute for chrissakes! Her father would have been furious! Bajirao had to save that alliance and also the honour of a princess. Besides, Kashi knew that's the type of man he was and she never bothered to understand his politics or wargaming. He was a very ambitious man. He can't say it in so many words because men like him, who are ambitious and slightly egoistic, don't feel the need to spell out everything to the people closest to them. He just assumed she would understand. She herself doesn't want Mastani killed, she's just being goaded by people around her. I mean it's a bad situation but hell he didn't do anything that wasn't his own nature.
He also may have felt the need for true companionship that Kashi could never give him. She didn't play with swords. And here's this lady who does. He didn't divorce or leave Kashi did he. He even gave her the honour of accompanying him in his expedition even though she was practically useless there. Prime of place was hers anyway.

Much of the movie was about Deepika and Ranveer's characters but in the end Kashi Bai, Priyanka's character, decided the fate of them all. She could have let Deepika's character and child get killed which would have led both factions to war but instead said her peace then moved forward with forgiveness in her heart. Priyanka is an outstanding actor.

In a whole movie Deepika was Just saying the dialogue without any expression and our PC was living the character, she was fabulous 😍

Expressions are on point. Deepika is just reading her dialogues.
I was not moved at all by Deepika’s acting in this or in Padmaavat. The same wide, blank face with the weird unnatural dialogue delivery where she loses breath in between the sentence. Priyanka was just outstanding in her supporting role. Her face conveyed every emotion in every scene, dialogues so natural - she lived the role.
I don’t understand why Deepika is give. So much credit.. Priyanka is so so much better

As The Audience To Such An Extent feels The Movie's Name/Title should be changed/renamed to Kashi Bai:The Untory Story Of Betrayal and Pain as The Hero went wrong here and The So-Called Heroine Deepika's Role Mastani who becomes The Supporting Role for me and most of The Audience because Of The Wrong Action Of Extra Marital Affair was its main reason cause of her lust. It was not A Love Story. It was Mastani's Lust Story and Kashi Betrayal Story. Kashi' Betrayal is More Heart-Touching and Her Character is Great and Legendary. Also Priyanka's Acting, Expressions and Eyes Expressions Nailed It. Priyanka Deserves Oscar for Kashi Bai's Role.

In this movie baji Kashi relationship look more deep & intense , Bajirao hardly remember mastani once he was out of bundelkhand till deewani mastani song .
In film only many places it shows Bajirao still longs for kashi , when she came back after ragoba's birth he was talking to d kid & she just walked past him , it hurted him , when he was leaving for his final war in rain he did looked up to kashi's balcony to see her but when he didn't found her he left teary eyed.

Agar Bajirao was not willing to show his love for Mastani in public and gave more importance to his reputation to tum log kyu thok thok ke bataneki koshish kar rahe ho ke he loved her.
Bajiraone tabtak Mastaniko support kiya jabtak sirf family involved thi. Jab community aur army tak bat gayi, he left her. Mastani remained under housearrest till her death.
So Bajirao's reputation as a Peshwa was more important for him than Mastani.

Everyone talking about Deepika and priyanka but no one is talking Ranveer he literally give life to character of Bajirao
At 12:05 you can see Kashi's love for him flooding out of her eyes. Despite not being on the same page as him, she is still so mesmerised by him. The way she looks at him with so much longing is so painful. Her moment only ends when Bajirao moves his head.
And even though she loved him so dearly she made a decision to never let him in her chambers. That must have been so hurting!!,

As if he has another wife, and the whole kingdom knows that despite of so many conflicts, still he loves n cares much for Mastani. So, it was required to restrict him from her chambers. Also as being a woman, she couldn't accept the situation of being neglected of least loved, so it would be a good choice rather than waiting for him for months....
To be fair and honest i will say both of them (priyanka and deepika) nailed their roles perfectly. Priyanka was excellent at playing kashibai's character. She delivers that expressions to the complete edge. And deepika delivers mastani's character with grace and firm attitude. They were absolutely a perfect match for this film.
If deepika had worked harder we would have felt for her character mastani more while we were just spellbound by priyanka chopra performance as kashibai she was splendid

This is the best movie so far since last was 3 Idiots. The soul of the movie was definitely its background score with Ranveer / Priyanka's supreme level of acting. Over the last 20 years, only this movie has best soulful music score whether song or background.
