    So interesting to see the whole timeline and process of reviving this plant. Really nice that you’ve gotten 3 new leaves in the past few months, and omg it’s gorgeous and HUGE! The leaves are sooo glossy and I love the color 😍🙌

    Hello! I'm currently trying to revive my little silver sword after accidentally traumatizing it... I had it in a window in our garage for a few days while we were out of town and I didn't realize how cold it would be in there! It lost four of its six leaves and a section of the root system basically fell off when I repotted it... it's been a little over a month since this happened and while the plant doesn't appear to be dead it's definitely not thriving... currently it's still got two droopy leaves and no new growth. I water it when the soil dries out, but I don't know what else to do for it 🥺. Right now I have it in a window in the house, in indirect sunlight. Any advice?? Thanks!

      Hi Sarah! Thank you for watching 😁 I would recommend putting it into a clear plastic container to boost the humidity 👌 what kind of soil mix are you using? Does it have any roots? You could transfer it to moss or perlite or half/half to help it reroot too 🌿💚

    I live in Germany, in the supermarket I bought that plant in a 20cm pot with 3 individual plants in it, all 1 meter in hight for €11.
    Total bargain of the year!
    The mature leaves are bigger than my hands.

    Nice! I'm so happy it worked for you. Your plant is beautiful and so healthy. This is one of my favourite plants. I brought two little ones from BC to Ontario (where I live) but that's because they were 8 bucks in BC and $60 bucks here. I may propagate them when they are bigger (leaves are about the size of my hand) but for right now I am enjoying them everyday.

    When I got my silver word plant I also struggled with how it was kept. Def seemed to be overwatered. It's been growing great now! However I am struggling as all of a sudden certain older leafs are turning slightly yellow.
    Still learning how this plant works as well - half of it has tiny round leafs and the other half is finally starting to get those sword shape. Wish it had it all over like yours. Your plant is def goals for mine!

    • @Melisawith1Schannel
      @Melisawith1Schannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm so happy to hear it made a comeback 💚🌿 The older leaves turning yellow may be due to inconsistent watering or maybe it's root bound? I wouldn't be worried if maybe one older leaf dies off, but if more than one turns yellow then I would check out the roots!
      Yours will look like mine in no time 😁🌿💚

      @@sharonbrowne2311 mine has little drops of sap that develop on thicker parts of the stem - I’ve heard its normal and happens to a lot of philodendron and is called floral nectaries or something…

    • @Melisawith1Schannel
      @Melisawith1Schannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is correct! I've researched this too. I have seen this on a couple of my other philodendrons for sure. It's something to monitor though because it could attract pests. In nature this "sap" could attract beneficial bugs like ants and ladybugs, but since our houseplants are indoors the sweetness could attract the not so nice bugs haha

    • @Erika70079
      @Erika70079 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know if this is the case but qhem you cut the silver sword you'll get some sap coming out - this is mildly toxic and can cause skin irritation.
