glad to see bibi hit the dropper. .its such a great shot for her and she hits it so well. a few off those and her opponent has to hedge their defense. great to she bibi having fun.
I liked watching Raducanu win the US open and her technique looks very good. But since the US open win, I think she often loses against other top players because she rarely goes for winners. Often her default is to hit down the centre, to give herself plenty of margin for error. But unless she starts to consistently go for shots, she isn't likely to progress so far in tournaments.
No offense but Emma fans are so loyal, even when she's bad they think she's good. I hope she improves though because she's playing some improved players since her 2021 US Open win.
I don't understand why the WTA is constantly uploading highlights of absolutely EVERY Emma's match when she's 72nd in the world, while ignoring far more interesting matches that deserve a highlights. I can understand it with Iga or Aryna, but why Emma? She plays poorly and the fact that she won a Grand Slam once means nothing. Barbora Krejcikova, Victoria Azarenka, Petra Kvitova, Jelena Ostapenko etc. you don't record every match either and they are so much higher in the rankings. So stop favouring Emma at the expense of other players!
It's obvious why they're doing that. Raducanu, despite her ranking, has become one of the biggest names on the tour, which is reflected in her massive sponsorship earnings despite the fact she's achieved very little since winning the US Open. Ultimately the WTA is a business and they need marquee players who transcend the sport to continue to attract new fans and viewers.
You can see why both players are grand slam champions. The 8th game in the second set being a perfect example. It's a shame Emma tired from the 5th game of the third set. She has improved physically but understandably has more work to do. There are positives and learnings to take from this match. I don't believe it's necessarily a backward step. She is on the right track. Getting to be a consistent tour performer at the highest level takes time. She will get there eventually. Congrats to Andreescu who held it together at the end and who showed great respect to Emma in her post match interview. Class.

Bianca is about 70 percent from where she used to be when she won Indian Wells and the US open. Emma's third set performance was very disappointing. That she lost the 0: 40 advantage against Bianca's serve in the first game of the last set is unbelievable.
Emma hits too much to the middle, unnecessarily prolonging each point, no wonder her wrist is hurting especially on this stupid slow HC surface of the "Sunshine Double". This type of surface is meant for variety - lots of drop shots, lobs, moonballs and assorted junkballing, not for hard hitting. At least she should've tried to go for more lines and corners to shorten the point. She could never have the power of 6' tall power hitters like Rybakina, Kvitova, Sabalenka, she shouldn't try to play their game.

Give her a bit more experience and she'll be there as long as she doesn't get too distracted with fame and wealth from all her sponsors.
"Where she keeps losing the _big matches_ " ??
You mean those 1st and 2nd Rd ones, every tournament for the last 18 months? 😂
Good job Bianca, variety served her well. Both players hit quite a few winners, these courts are faster than the slow arse courts at IW.
There you have it, folks. Emma Raducanu: the 4th highest paid female athlete in the world according to Forbes.
Advertisement. They based on her contract, but not details of the contract. Sponsors are not that dumb to pay millions for fake injuries and retirement. That's why she ran around the world, signed up every tournament when she was 'injured' and tried to squeeze every dime out of her sponsors' pockets.
Loveeee seeing Bianca’s drop shots. Been wondering why she stopped using them for a while
lack of confidence...also sven groeneveld her former coach wanted to make her game more unidimensional..bad idea.
Andresscu , What transformation ? He is Looking Muscular and Strong . More Power to You.
Andreescu´s weapon arsenal is well known, but in good physical condition, usually uncertain, is deadly.
Emma can train, caridio, and build strength all she wants, she just doesn't have any natural sprinting speed, nor much endurance. Although BNP she said she didn't train at all.
Don’t agree there cause she can cover some good ground on the run. All your criticisms, they should improve with time and as she gets more sharp. She’s still under 2 years at this level and turned 20 not so long ago.
Me parece que las dos jóvenes, tienen raíces Rumanas, gran juego nos brindaron
Match of the One Slam Wonders
glad to see bibi hit the dropper. .its such a great shot for her and she hits it so well. a few off those and her opponent has to hedge their defense. great to she bibi having fun.
Stop talking during rally.. Thats tennis commentary 101. So irritating.
Good game.
Even we knew Andreescu had the advantage its good seeing Emma trying to find her rythm since US open.
She was doing that well in Indian Wells but I feel like she was playing into Bianca’s hands more in this match cause she defends well.
Such a great first round, but unfortunate these 2 greats and fan favorites had to face off right away.
No offense but Emma fans are so loyal, even when she's bad they think she's good. I hope she improves though because she's playing some improved players since her 2021 US Open win.
She does improve her ball toss. I think her ball toss is better than 1ga. She is just slow learner.
Media, power, money my friend.. nothing to do with tennis
She's from the UK that's why 😅
It's obvious why they're doing that. Raducanu, despite her ranking, has become one of the biggest names on the tour, which is reflected in her massive sponsorship earnings despite the fact she's achieved very little since winning the US Open. Ultimately the WTA is a business and they need marquee players who transcend the sport to continue to attract new fans and viewers.
She's the media's pampered princess.
Theses WTA players are not fan draws that is why! Genie Bouchard and Emma Raducanu draws spectators and brings tennis fans to the tennis game!
Congrats 🎉❤ love from🇨🇦
Bianca is getting into some serious shape!!! with Iga out i think given the right circumstances Bianca could win this tourament
Fantastic Tennis here. Great video.. Andreescu look great. Looks like the finals right here! .keep rockin
Class.
Radacanu didn’t run for any drop shots….
If you don't see them coming it's already too late to run.
Intelligent and articulate young lady but her tennis IQ is still developing.
@@JohnHoganN8 It's simple. She just couldn't be bothered to chase them.
Too far
@@simonharwood8488 you meant she was slow on her feet or slow in her head, or both?
Emma gotta learn a thing or two about point construction and that means not returning every single shot to where her opponent is! Make them run!
She does that well a lot though but is lacking that finishing shot sometimes.
Drop shots were deadly weapons that "killed" Emma in this match.
good to see both young players getting back to a high level .. great game emma couldnt convert her breakpoints in the 3. bianca did it this was the diffrence .. also noticed emma looks alot stronger physically working hard good to see 👏👏
They look so well playing but when they play against iga it's so sad
eventually you figure out their Game , how many Times did Felix beat Carlos till Carlos won a match.
Not as sad as when Swiatek plays against ELENA !!
*Andreescu : Emma*
winners 32 : 20
unforcies 34 : 40
Emma bores me. Doesn’t even give the slightest effort to go after the short shots.
The ‘phenom’ has a mediocre match.
Thank goodness that Emma R is out of this tournament in the very first round. Top 10 players can breathe easy now as their biggest threat is gone!😃
Smart play by Andrescu for playing lobs n drops. Raducanu needs to introspect in her game attitude n strategy.
Playing any kind of game you need not to look good raducanu.... Someone please suggest her this!!!
Great effort by emma, impressed by her performance in the last two tournaments. Hope she can win a title this year. Bianca vs sakkari gonna be a banger 🔥🔥
What are you talking about? She was just sent out of the Miami tournament in the 1st round
Win a title this year, omg, she just lost first roun match 😅
@@scarletr.7753 She put lots of efforts to exit early ‘cause Taxi & Uber had their engines on & were waiting…
@@jukkao.parviainen8669 Hahaha her fanboys celebrated at the exit door.
@@scarletr.7753 Throughout the last year she was getting thrashed by her opponents & retiring almost every match half way . But in IW she lost to world no1 after beating two top players & here she put up good fight esp in 2nd set, so i see all these as great improvements!!!
I love you Bianca 🎉
Jesus...every game I watch, Emma's just so naive...she just hits back right at the opponent's hitting zone.
Bianca Andreescu outfit is so great.
Can't agree sometimes 'less is best'
Some things need to be left to the imagination !!
"Her dad is a Romanian BUT I just want to get to know her. She is a super nice girl" The commentator is showing her inner racism
ruined the broadcast.
Go Bianca! 🇨🇦 🍁
Way to go Bianca!!! :)
Well done Bianca.keep pushing yourself and you will win👍
Emma missed out great chance earlier to break the point during third set…Bianca not even played her game at full strength., most of the points are Emma mistakes..But good to see both of them played well…hope they both will shine again in upcoming big matches..
Two one hit wonders trying to fight their best ..
Bianca is at least a 3-hit wonder
@@chamindujanith6337 I think he was referring to grand slams, the ultimate prize in tennis !!
@@robertmartin7594 Grand slams is not everything in tennis. But a critical part for sure.
Bianca is about 70 percent from where she used to be when she won Indian Wells and the US open. I am concerned she is getting Serena sized and is not as fast as she used to be and ends up slapping or arming her forehand therefore it has become a bit of error ridden side. Emma is definitely playing better and really puts the pressure on. Her serve is much much better. Both of these women are important for the WTA. Naomi needs to come back too.
"I am concerned she is getting Serena sized"
It's possible to be a top 100 pro player in the WTA when you're fat. No worries, the WTA isn't at the level of MMA, boxe, athletism and so on. ^^
@@LePianisteMasque yea i mean - ostapenko is not your usuall tennis player sized but she still does ok
@@jasperherr8694 Another example : marion bartoli. Look at her pictures and her rank history.
Just look at her in 2013, when she won wimbledon... That tells it all.
WTA dropped off after 2007, & after 2020 even further down.
What I like Emma, she never get tired of losing since she won the AO.
When did she win the AO?
She won the US Open dummy
tired or not tired. No play no pay. She's squeezing every dime out of her sponsors' pockets.
what I like Coco Puffs, she never get tired of losing at the QFs
Two of my favourite champs, just wish if this was during the final stages of the tournament but wishing Raducanu luck for the clay season !
Thrilled for Bibi 😇🇨🇦🎾 Let's GO!!!
Well done ladies ... keep working Emma and dont put too much pressure on yourself.
I only saw the highlights but Emma seemed to play too many mid court balls and she wasn't even trying to get to those drop shots.
Her power ws lacking a bit also.
Not a good day for her but there's a lot more to come I'm sure.
Andreescu a worthy winner on the day.
Emma lacks shot accuracy to compensate for her physical weakness.
@@blue-xb1cq I think she did better job on slow courts at IW.
That's because she's playing through pain as her wrist injury has flared up again just before Indian Wells as she said afterwards, noticed her shaking her wrist throughout the match and her subdued and pained expression on her face, not the usual fired up Emma we normally see.
@@eyeofthetiger6002 That sounds very plausible. She's had such bad luck with injuries but contrary to what many observers seem to think, I believe she is pushing herself as hard as she can, whilst at the same time, trying to avoid aggravating the situation.
It must be really frustrating for her because I think she must have the belief in herself that she can climb the rankings otherwise why take all that pain and grief from not being able to play as well as you know you can.
Eventually, she is going to get past the injusries and when she does, I think she will shut a lot of people up with her results.
I hope so anyway!
@@PeteH0121 a fully fit Emma's good enough against anyone bar maybe the top 3 for now,but two years down the line and if still injury free you'll definitely see her beating the top 3 because Emma's talent has never been in any doubt since her record breaking achievement in winning her US Open title.
Am a fan of Emma but I never felt confident she was going to win..she has a long road as she does not look like the player who won a slam..
Bianca is back and it seems that Raducanu is improving. Very tough first round
It showed that Emma has no power weapons on the hard courts. Her career is going to be tough. The emotional trauma will be tremendous. I hope that she has support. I would cash in in all the endorsements. There is no way her body type can be top anything in singles
Emma is strength training off the court. She is likely instructed not to push hard for every matches ( injury risk ). She said she is currently playing at "35%" (health and/or playing capacity). She won't play until the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix staring on April 17.
@@blue-xb1cqWhere did you get these crazy stats from ? Playing at 35% is almost like not playing at all.
@@freds.9407 - Emma said she is at "35%" last week or two.
@@blue-xb1cq Just because she said it , doesn't make it true. Common sense has to kick in somewhere in that logic.

Raducanu was given easy first few rounds draw at the Indian Wells last week, hence the last 16 showing.
She had two top twenty seeds in the first 3 rounds, you’re an idiot.
Linette WTA 20 and Haddad-Maia WTA 13 were easy rounds at the IW last week ??
You're disrepecting all 3 !!
Haddad Maia has beaten Swiatek, Rybakina and Andreescu in the last 6 months. She's one of the toughest players to beat that's why she's ranked 13. Had she beaten Emma in IW she would've been in top 10. Emma played amazing to beat her, esp. with that wrist injury. Give credit where credit is due. Shish!
Emma's third set performance was very disappointing. That she lost the 0: 40 advantage against Bianca's serve in the first game of the last set is unbelievable.
Romanian girl❤️
I think Andreescu had about a minute of time violations on her serves in this match.
She could never have the power of 6' tall power hitters like Rybakina, Kvitova, Sabalenka, she shouldn't try to play their game.
it's grand slamer's battle, so good
Great match, Bianca! :)
Fine play from both players. Emma needs a few months to get super fit & onto her top form. At this level there is no other way to win.
I thought that is what she was doing since the US open win. She is just not up to it. There are plenty of one slam wonders, no shame in it
@@bp900 Strength training takes 2-3 years.
@@blue-xb1cq again. It's ok. For example, Sophie Kenin had an amazing run at the AO and won title. She has done little else since then. Nobody is hating on her just living in the WTA reality

Canadian and British players. And if you are referring to their backgrounds, it’s Romanian not Roma. Roma is the Capital City of Italy
@@deanstockwell2396 I think that persona abbreviated Romanian lol also Roma means gypsies
Emma needs a weapon. She’s balanced and whole yet needs more amplitude at least on her shots. As a pro? You gotta at least give chase to those drop shots. Fun game to watch!
Emma is not the same player as her us open win, too bad really, all champ goes for every ball!
As the British press points out, two Toronto area born girls battling it out ...ha ha. Both look physically stronger... Bianca has experience edge.
Great match and win, A !
Emma did really well today... all things considered...
That match in the 2nd set was stunning, shades of the Indian Wells final between Elena and Aryna Sabelenka...
Bianca deserved to win, fair play... Emma will bounce back...
Good match
She will bounce out if the WTA if she keep Ms playing like this.
Not even Emma Raducano and much less Bianca Andrescu will win a GS again, I think that in tennis there is very little of the two of them compared to other tennis players who are much more aggressive than the two of them. IMHO!
Look at someone like Sakkari ..extremely fit ..ranked in the top ten ..with a highest ranking of 3 ..yet has only 1 250 level titles ..both are still young
