Huge congrats to Petra. Honestly I didn’t expect her to beat Rybakina, who is in such a great form. I think Petra simply had the tactical advantage. I was pleasantly surprised how cleanly she played, especially during clutch moments. After a tournament win like this any retirement thoughts will be quickly forgotten.
Just goes to show what I always believed; if you're a player with weapons, on your day, you can hurt anyone. I think today Petra played one of the highest levels she has played in a while. Very solid from her today. Elena didn't play bad at all. And that's the thing; Elena is currently one of the best players in the world, so for Petra to bring a higher level on the day was truly remarkable. Excellent from both, and a worthy winner.
That 1st set tie-breaker was a...back breaker for Rybakina 😋 It seemed to take the wind out of her sails, Kvitova coasting to victory. Solid tourney for the veteran dropping only one set. Well earned.
Weldone Petra. Nerves were finished. Once again, she didnt play lights out tennis and go for crazy winners. She played controlled with bigger margins and was willing to stay in the points longer. Had she adopted this earlier in her career, she certainly would have won more GS titles
I so wanted Elena to do the "sunshine double" .She has had an amazing 2023 thus far and will go from strength to strength as the year goes on. But Petra was amazing today and fully deserving of this victory. As an Elena fan it is real hard to feel too gutted when she was beaten by the better lady today.
She did blow at least one set point when in the tiebreak after saving the first set initially. She could have been the winner if not clearly better. Very small margins like with the Alcaraz match yesterday
I honestly don't get why people are so surprised kvitova won. Did you see her performance against an unbelieveable alexandrova and an insane cirstea? That was crazy. Everyone could see that rybakina was getting tired as the tournament went on and she wasn't playing nearly as good as she was in indian wells. Sure she served insane but you can't serve bot your way to the title every time lol. Honestly, fair play to kvitova, a hero on and off the court. It didn't really seem like she could be back especially after australia where she made error after error, but she found the fight and form in indian wells (and even gor her mental toughness back), and finally found her game in miami. Congratulations petra, well deserved!
Right!!! I was shocked to see how heavily Rybakina was the favorite. Very crazy when you consider Petra's record in finals. If Petra makes the final, it means she's in 🔥 and is very difficult to stop in the final. She proved that yet again here and she actually out-powered rybakina from the baseline, and out-served rybakina with placement angles and accuracy. She also exposed rybakina's lack of variety
Wow!!! Great, Petra Kvitova!!!👏👏👏👏👏... mereceu mesmo!! Gosto muito do jogo da Rybakina, mas nesse torneio Kvitova veio muito bem... não teve pra ninguém!!!
This fragment of the video shows that Elena Rybakina lost because she thought less creatively and relied more on her power. Elena's blows were not dribbles, not in corners, not along lines, but most of them flew either at Petra or in her direction. Elena did not have shortened blows, while Petra acted very coolly, smartly and creatively.
woaaah. Petra was just DIALED IN. great performance. I m a fan yet I was almost sure Rybakina would surely win. congrats Petra. One more Slam too. let's go
Congrats to Kvitova, she really deserved to win but as a big fan of Elena this one was hard to take. She had her chances in the tie break but could not just provide them (felt like the old Rybakina). Kvitova were better the whole match and much better in the clutch moments. She had so much more power and accuracy in her strokes and Elena made so many unforced errors today and that was really disappointing to see. Knew the match was over after the tie break but the way she just capitulated in the second set without any fight was also really disappointing. Maybe she was tired. Either way Elena is on the right path and will continue to rise. Can't wait to see her play again!
Ah well - saw her with the Kinesia-tape at the semi-final again. I think Elena needs simply some rest. It's her first season where she reaches more semi and finals. Give her time. You can't win every time. Important thing is that you learn. This is Elenas learning year. I know everyone is expecting wonders once you are starting to win. But even winning needs to be learned. A process Iga is currently running through and Petra learned years ago. Anyhow - I like both players. Today the more experienced one won. Congrats to Petra Kvitova.
Dare I say it! Kvitova is finally coming back to her best as she was before the horrific knife attack, and seems on perfectly improving course for a 3rd Wimbledon Title! Wat an Epic comeback story that wud be.....we're talking Hollywood Movie stuff! Please God! She Deserves it!
Vintage Petra
That 1st set tie-breaker was a...back breaker for Rybakina 😋 It seemed to take the wind out of her sails, Kvitova coasting to victory. Solid tourney for the veteran dropping only one set. Well earned.
She is truly a fighter
Finally Petra win ! That’s it 💪🏻❤️🔥
Old good tennis days 🥹 and real champion
Kvitova was to good today, nice trophy for her collection.
So happy for Kvitova! OMG! She is back! Let’s go for a Grand Slam!
She hasnt done that well at a slam in 3 yrs. Doubtful she does it now.
@@robbyten100 nobody thought she could beat Rybakina
Weldone Petra. Nerves were finished. Once again, she didnt play lights out tennis and go for crazy winners. She played controlled with bigger margins and was willing to stay in the points longer. Had she adopted this earlier in her career, she certainly would have won more GS titles
Petra was on fire in the semi's against Cirstea, but in this final she played even better! Petra proves again, always keep believing in yourself!
Congratulations Petra, what a tournament. Vedeli jsme, ze to musi prijit a ted pokracovat na stejne vlne.
Petra school of tennis at its very best 🔥🔥 I hope she inspires the veteran guns like Muguruza and Pliskova
So happy for petra one of the best ❤
I so wanted Elena to do the "sunshine double" .She has had an amazing 2023 thus far and will go from strength to strength as the year goes on. But Petra was amazing today and fully deserving of this victory. As an Elena fan it is real hard to feel too gutted when she was beaten by the better lady today.
She did blow at least one set point when in the tiebreak after saving the first set initially. She could have been the winner if not clearly better. Very small margins like with the Alcaraz match yesterday
@@martinhudecek8886 Agreed, that was an epic tiebreak
Respect! Petra is GIANT 🔥🔥🔥👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
No one deserves it more!! What a gift to tennis. After all that she's been through, just a remarkable story that keeps getting written!
what a supprise, petra winning,i picked rybakina to win the sunshine double, but when petra makes a finals the odds of her winning is very positive.
Greetings from POLAND 💙❤💙❤
Congrats Kvitova!! It’s been a long time coming. I’m so happy for her 🎾🎾
Congratulations from Poland. Gratulacje Petra. Dobrze że zlałaś Ruską!
Kvitova lefthand shot yet to be figured out by Rybakina! Congratulations Kvitova good run Rybakina love to see you for more!! Good luck!
I’m happy for Petra Kvitova😊❤
Wow Petra!!!! She mixed it up so well. Experience shows.
first :) brawo Petra, super, ze wygrałas!
Wow!!! Great, Petra Kvitova!!!👏👏👏👏👏... mereceu mesmo!! Gosto muito do jogo da Rybakina, mas nesse torneio Kvitova veio muito bem... não teve pra ninguém!!!
Bravo Petra, tu es la Reine de Miami 💙😸
Saw the semifinal and now this. Probably my favorite finals stretch of the tour so far, Petra Kvitova deserves the world!!
She just tired. That's it

No one can imagine the horror n fear of being a woman in yr own home n having to fight off an intruder with a knife! LEGEND! 🙏👍❤
Rybakina showing she needs work still. What an exhausting first set!
What a tiebreak. Amazing from both. 16-14, heartbreaker for Elena, just like Indian Wells, 13-11 and Aryna couldnt come back from that emotional and mental blow. But my god Petra deserves this. Biggest title in 5 years and back in the top 10. So well deserved. Hope she can win another slam before she hangs up her racket.
