    *AVOID the big two: processed foods & refined sugar*
    *Stick to whole foods, keep it simple*

    • @ginamarie007
      @ginamarie007 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Avoid the big two: flours & sugars. The two most addictive foods used by the processed food industry. Then to add insult to injury, they use food additives like msg to make these already addictive foods even more addictive.

    • @Christoff070
      @Christoff070 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ginamarie007 exactly. One in three people are gluten-intolerant. Also the dairy industry. The way that milk is processed, is mind-blowingly obscene. The way I think of it now is : if a food is mass-produced by a giant-farm or factory, corners will be cut, and human health will be the last thing the company thinks of when making their product. (They just want to pump out as much as possible as quickly as possible with as little quality as possible)

    Thanks Lewis for this amazing video! I love Vani ❤️ she has done such great work unveiling of the stuff that's going around in the food industry. It's because of her that I became so energized and inspired to change my health and treat my autoimmune disease. As far as coconut oil, because it is more saturated than even butter is, i would say to use very low amounts. I only use olive oil and sometimes add a little bit of butter or a little bit of coconut oil but not too much. However absolutely no corn or canola oil because just exactly as she said they are toxic.

    I am a health advocate myself and believe that the issues with the food industry is making a lot of people weak, as people are not educated enough about what they are putting in their mouths.'Yes we are being fed lies' but it's up to us to break this chain. People really believe that they can get sustainable energy from (sugary foods, rancid oils)?

    Thank you so much for this interview!! I love to know someone is out there fighting for us. I also buy organic and natural products as much as possible, but I wish it was the way of our entire food system from fast food to groceries.

    • @miguelsanchez2353
      @miguelsanchez2353 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "Organic" and "natural" are just marketing terms and have absolutely no determination on whether a food/product is safe or not. For example, the pits of some fruits contain a chemical known as amygdalin (sometimes called Vitamin B17) which many pseudoscience pushers and quacks claim "cures cancer" - even amygdalin from the most "organic" and "natural" fruits, when digested, literally produces organic cyanide and poisons you.
      The point I'm trying to make is, don't fall for the BS marketing terms like "organic", "non-GMO", "natural", etc, because they have absolutely zero regards to whether a food item is safe or not. Organic farming still uses pesticides and produces far more carbon emissions than conventional farming. Food Babe outright lies and spreads misinformation about the food industry to line her pockets. She has zero qualifications which is proven by her many, MANY blatantly obvious science faux pas. I'm not saying the food industry is perfect or even great for that matter, but Vani is the kettle calling the pot black. All she does is fear monger and spread lies while simultaneously selling alternative products at high prices.

    I was in denial for years until after my brother died did I finally started educating myself with reading and research papers that tell us what the industry for decades has tried to keep tight-lipped. Grains and Sugar....the building blocks that shaped our civilization from hunter gathers to worldwide empires is slowly killing us.

    • @wib6044
      @wib6044 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a series of videos with experts trying to guess the more expensive version of various foods. The bread video is especially interesting since he goes into detail about the difference between how bread used to be made and what goes into the modern version.
      Point being, the wheat and sugar our anscestors used to eat, although still potentially problematic, were much healthier than the versions we have today.
      It is also interesting to point out recent studies showing the frequency with which we eat may be a bigger problem than what we eat. Mice fed saturated fat and fructose throughout the day developed metabolic diseases, while mice on an intermittent fasting schedule (they only ate (6 hours of the 24 hour cycle) experiences no adverse effects.

    so to break it down, you start with veggies, add a little meat, some nuts and then fruit. Always check labels, think about it, research it. But the elephant for me, is I can't afford it! Where I live, organic cost twice as much for half the product.

    • @miguelsanchez2353
      @miguelsanchez2353 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Organic literally has no bearing on a product's safety, it is literally just a marketing term. Organic food still uses pesticides, often in much higher quantities than conventional medicine. It's an appeal to nature fallacy - using terms like "organic" and "non-GMO" because they sound more "natural" which to a lot of people automatically means "better" without actually knowing why. Natural absolutely does not always mean better. Bear attacks, organic cyanide poisoning and meningitis are all "natural". Read labels, watch out for high quantities of sugar and trans fats - "organic" labeled food can still be loaded with harmful ingredients. Don't buy into the anti-science lies spread by uneducated profiteers like Vani Hari who doesn't even understand the very basics of science behind what she says and often gets things completely wrong. Don't waste your money on "organic" foods - they're no safer than the regular foods on the shelves, ALL of which have been approved for safe consumption by major regulatory bodies like the FDA.

    Just checked Vani out on Wikipedia, & as I expected, they have done a hatchet job on her and her work in particular.
    Lift the veil people....step out of the matrix. The food we eat plays an important part in that. In my own experience eating more natural & simple foods & dramatically reducing the ingestion of chemicals has facilitated my ability to think more clearly and have more awareness. I can't prove that to you scientifically, but if you were to try it yourself, you would KNOW exactly what I was talking about.

    Vani's unwaivering beliefs, backed up with the brutal honesty of "tiny (seemingly) association's" trying their damndest to discredit her (Monsanto)
    coconut oil!
    And her not wanting to know "their" hatchet jobs!
    Your guests are always refreshing, and give a much needed inspirational lift!
    Coupled with the fact you are trying to help pass on the information given, with no "agenda"
    And.....she only gives the kids, the best ketchup☺

    I don't even bother with details, she reminds me to look at what I eat and to take care of oneself. She reminds me I don't need additives or hormone dysrupting chemicals... It's often just a matter of life habits and organization to let go of unhealthy convenience. I don't need to higher my risks of cancer, I don't need to gain weight, I don't need to feed cravings or sacrify my health for the temporary pleasure of a snack that doesn't even help my body function optimally. These things won't make me happy... So why should I settle for other's profit ? Yellow food coloring is an antagonist to vitamins B6... Why the heck would anybody be against sharing that kind of information ? Yes, it's useful to be reminded yellow coloring is even in the breakfast potatoes I'm about to buy... And who can even think bashing on Food Babe or other people can influence my choices ?? They really think I have any interest in listening to someone who behave like this ? Food industry will put any additive in their product if it makes it smoother, creamier, tastier... I understand. It's tastes awesome, it's often cheaper, shelf life too... I don't think there's any depopulation, they need us to make profit... I think many people find life too hard, and they need to reward themselves... That's exactly why we need people like Food Babe to remind us to choose wisely, and they often show us swaps... I repeat, who the heck can be against that ? Those who didn't think about it before she does ?? lol

    Can’t wait until I start growing my own food until then I eat clean and avoid dairy gluten and processed meat only organic meat once in a blue moon. A tip for everyone when it does come to packaged food never eat anything with more than 5 ingredients and if you can’t pronounce it put it down. Big up Food Babe remember her from years ago, get Anthony William on the show too.

      But then how will the Non-GMO Organization fear monger and profit off putting their sticker on random products!? lol....it's truly ironic because the Non-GMO Organization has a picture of a monarch butterfly on their brand sticker, yet monarch's are literally a genetically modified butterfly. It's easy to dupe gullible people who don't have a strong understanding of science though unfortunately.
