I’m a big Nioxin fan. My hair was in a terrible state from stress and menopause. My hairdresser recommended the shampoo, conditioner and scalp serum. I also use the nioxin hair mask about once a month. It took a few months to see the difference, but it’s worth it the wait. My hair is much stronger now.
I spent COVID solitude letting my baby fine, thin hair grow out so I could go for a shoulder-length, blunt cut bob instead of the short layers I wore for oh so many years. I don't color my hair, and can't use Minoxidil or Rogaine which were the only medically proven growth stimulators for so long. But I've discovered my doctor-prescribed prostaglandin analog eyedrops (for glaucoma) work great for lashes, brows and the shiny scalp showing thru up top and around my hairline. Of course, now that I'm scheduled for laser procedures in both eyes, I'm carefully rationing those eyedrops! And I'm starting to wear hats - much better for sun protection! Thanks for the video!
I bought the detox hair oil on your recommendation and it’s stunning , I have really fine hair and use it on the mid length to ends ( a tiny amount ) everyday and it’s lovely so thank you 😊 I wouldn’t be without it now xx
I have fine, flat, straight shoulder length blond highlighted hair. I swear by the Kerastase Blond Absolu Range. Using the shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner afterwards before blow drying, with the occasional use of the hair oil (for flyaways and smoothing) and hair mask. I’ve been using these products for over three years. My hair loves them.
Thanks for recommending the Metal Detox shampoo. I am using it as well, and it is fantastic! Smells great, too, as you said. I bought the oil as well, but haven't tried it. I look forward to giving it a try. Have you tried VERB products? I love the Ghost Prep for lightweight moisturization and frizz control and the Glossy Shine Spray with Heat Protection for any styling I do. Really effective with fine blond hair like ours!
and i live my dyson. i have the revlon too bit it gets sooooo hot. the dyson also has this technology to blow the air in the direction your hairr grows, from root to tip. this makes the hair so much shinier und it feels much better. its worth every penny for me, not only because of the barrels.
That's my favorite, favorite hair masque!!! I Lovvvve it. I'm on my 2nd jar and have a 3rd. I wash my hair once a week with Ouai Detox shampoo and use that masque when I do. I absolutely love the way it smells!
Shout out to Laura, your hair looks fantastic. Quick question, would the metal detox be good for me undergoing chemo? I am lucky and am not losing my hair but it is dull and lacks lustre.
They often have the Aquis Towels in TK Maxx. I usually see several in the beauty aisle. I got my Aquis hair towel in TK Maxx for £4, it had a red clearance sticker on it 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for the tip! Found them in my local TK Maxx and purchased two of them. Can’t wait to use them! I also love my air wrap. I have the. Newer version and have basically ditched my straighteners. I use the L’Oréal biotin strengthening shampoo and conditioner, like the idea of the metal detox items as well.
Thanks for the fine hair recommendations! I, too, have the Dyson, and only use the brush. Wish they would sell the handle and let people buy attachments individually.
I'm ALWAYS down for hair products! Especially for fine, limp hair. It is a near impossible to find the fine line for this type of hair. Products either weigh your hair way down or gives it a very unnatural feeling. Currently, I'm really enjoying Virtue's 6 in 1 styler! Damn near a perfect fine hair product. At least for me!
Like you, I'm experiencing what I call menopause hair - super brittle hair (happened overnight!) and a bit more coming off in the drain. Have you tried LED? I'm finding it hugely successful!
I have similar hair so will deffo try the Nioxin shampoo after this. I also brought the air wrap but only used the drying feature (couldn’t get on with the rest) so ending up sending it back xx
I'm thinking of the Shark Flexstyle. I have fine, thin hair too, but I don't want to spend as much as the Dyson Airwrap. Your hair looks especially gorgeous today (and your makeup is stunning)! So it looks like all these products are working!
i use a dry foam (better controle than with the spray). unfortunatly uts onky for blonds, as it can leave a white residue with the corn starch in it. i use it right after washing in my damp hair. it helps a lot with fast and easy blow drying and my hair lasts for 3-4 days befor I have to wash it again. and I also love the scalp massager with my shampoo. i dont have the feeling to ripnmy hair out but I only use it on one spot at a time. i give my mild, sulfate free shampoo plenty of time to solve all the "dirt".
Sorry but I dont understand. The products sound lovely to use but what metals do you need to detox? Hair is dead once it grows above the scalp. If you have metals in your hair they are coming from your body which is a bigger issue. You cant nourish dead chains of keratin. You can add products that will smooth the cuticle down and protect the hair from heat processing, etc.
This was a really helpful video! I’m definitely going to try the color wow hair mask! I know you said you limit the use of straighteners, but do you have any recommendations for a heat protection spray that can be used on dry hair between washes when restyling?
I LOVE the L'oreal Metal Detox shampoo! I use it at least once a week and them I use Bondi purple shampoo for blonde hair. I love it! I usually only wash my hair 2x a week. I have a turbo towel too. Not sure of the brand but it dries my hair wonderfully and quickly!
Thank you so much for this timely video, as I've been struggling to figure out my perimenopausal hair situation. The hair loss started two years ago, but recently, I've noticed new hair growth is no longer keeping pace. My hair also seems more fragile. Why didn't anyone prepare us for all the CRAZY that is perimenopause! 😂😤
Oh Gemma, I only use my Dyson Airwrap the same way! 😅 such a high cost!! 😂 😮 Thank you for this video. I use the Money Mask too and that consistency is so weird!! It’s so funny!!! 😂😂
I didn’t like the Dyson air wrap unfortunately,I preferred the revlon one step , I lost a lot of hair after my weight loss surgery and found the L’Oréal elvive in the black bottle really helped as it had biotin in it and found it really helped , now over two years later my hair is a lot thicker . I have have fine hair but a lot of it ❤
I washed my hair every day from age 12 to 60 there was no I'll effects from that much to most popular views. During the lockdown I grew out my layered short hair. With longer hair I have more options as to how to wear it everyday. It takes much longer to wash and dry so laziness and the flexibility of style has given freedom to not wash every day. To get three and four days I wash on Wednesday and Sunday. I like the freedom I never had with short hair that had to be washed and styled every day especially having thin straight hair.
To get volume why not use the curling wand with the Airwrap? It makes the ends of your hair super smooth & shiny. If you don't want curls gently use the brush you used on camera to smooth out some of the curl but leave the volume, that's what I do. LOVE my Dyson Airwrap rather than destroying your hair it helps, particularly the ends
Yeah I thought it was just me, I hate a residue feeling. I ordered this after it featured in one of your videos but I don't like the feeling it leaves, maybe the olaplex would be better 🤔
Hi Gemma! Thank you so much for this video! Super helpful! Have you read about all the nasty, cancerous ingredients in dry shampoo? Esp the ones containing talc as they found traces of asbestos in it. Ever since I heard of that I have stopped using dry shampoo. I really miss my dry shampoo though and have been looking for a good one, that is safe to use. Do you or anyone in the pampered wolf pack have any suggestions?
Lush has a dry shampoo that is plant based. It is totally safe. It's not a spray, you put some on your fingers and place it where you want it. Rub a bit, leave for at minute and brush out. It's also good since it doesn't make a spray mist that you can inhale. Inhaling mists from different sprays can give you asthma.
Oof my hair is super fine and thin, oh and throw in an dry itchy scalp! My ride or dies are the Colour Wow shampoo and conditioner with their frizz spray! Ive got a knock off Revlon hot brush from Amazon, I don’t recommend lol 😂
Hi Gemma! I have the same type of hair you have so I know the struggle Is real! 😃 I have been putting coconut oil on my ends only, about 1/2 hour before I shampoo and that has greatly protected my ends. I also use once a week the living proof triple bond complex. Both of these steps have helped me keep my ends looking less disheveled and a lot more polished - as I grow my hair out.
Unconnected... but I wonder if you could review some of the new menopause skincare ranges that brands seem to be suddenly launching this year. It seems they're jumping on the public awareness around menopause. But I expect its just marketing for a standard anti aging moisturizer which doesn't block pores 🤔 It eoild be good timing for a video too as it's menopause awareness month
You need to take your hair care routine to Lisa and have her show you how to apply it. She needs to see how you go about drying your hair. This is coming from a professional! I was a Nioxin instructor, highly recommend you keep using it.
My hair has always been fine straight and long I recently got it cut short now it CURLY and has super volume 😳😳😳like WHAT???!!! How did that happen… now I’m trying to find curl gel and shampoos conditioners lol … was their perm products in my bleach 🤣🤣🤣🤍🤍🤍 Happy FRIDAY! 🤍🤍🤍
I’ve started using a massage brush after watching Dr Dray recommended them, she advises using for shampooing as the brush disturbs the shampoo more effectively and you use far less shampoo as a result. I’ve found this to be really effective, I did discuss with my hairdresser who agreed it’s a great way to effectively cleanse and massage the scalp.
I've only had long hair once decades ago, and it was straight because it weighed more than my shorter hair. The shorter my hair, the curlier/wavier it gets. 😂
Thank you! There’s a lot us of fine, limp hair ladies out here, I’m sure!
I highly recommend the Blowout professor here on TH-cam too he’s got brilliant advice Gemma
Agree he's great ❤
Also agree. His recommendations have transformed my hair.
Finally I've been waiting for this love your hair care videos ❤

I also use the nioxin hair mask about once a month. It took a few months to see the difference, but it’s worth it the wait. My hair is much stronger now.
My hair is very thin and fine, I'm so happy I have found that you also do hair videos 😁

Loved all your advice, especially putting a bit of dry shampoo into hair before styling.

Perfect timing! I need to order a few hair products soon. I’m going to give the L’Oréal metal detox a try.

Thank you, Gemma! I've just ordered 3 products from your list. Looking forward to a spectacular transformation of my hair. :)
I use a massager like yours morning and night, then use a texturising spray to add volume. Only need to wash my hair once a week now!!!
Off topic - your make up is so beautiful in this video. I love the lipstick combo! x
That's my favorite, favorite hair masque!!! I Lovvvve it. I'm on my 2nd jar and have a 3rd. I wash my hair once a week with Ouai Detox shampoo and use that masque when I do. I absolutely love the way it smells!
Very helpful video will be looking in to these products thank you

Can you do a updated morning, evening skincare please...maybe before rhe Niod sale ..so we know your favs xx
Hi Gemma, great video. I'm loving the metal detox range. What is your LF code please
I'm taking topirimate and my hairs falling out terribly, any suggestions?
Thanks for the fine hair recommendations! I, too, have the Dyson, and only use the brush. Wish they would sell the handle and let people buy attachments individually.

will have to try the volumizing things as need it
Great tip about the dry shampoo 🧴 ❤
Yippee been waiting for this 🥳
Do you have tips to eliminate static in fine hair?
I think the Colour Wow Xtra large is brilliant. I don’t find it leaves a residue and it lasts for days. Love it.
i use a dry foam (better controle than with the spray). unfortunatly uts onky for blonds, as it can leave a white residue with the corn starch in it. i use it right after washing in my damp hair. it helps a lot with fast and easy blow drying and my hair lasts for 3-4 days befor I have to wash it again. and I also love the scalp massager with my shampoo. i dont have the feeling to ripnmy hair out but I only use it on one spot at a time. i give my mild, sulfate free shampoo plenty of time to solve all the "dirt".
Hey Gemma thanks for sharing it’s so important to look after your hair as it starts to grow thanks for all the tips see you soon ❤
Thanks Gemma. Love your hair videos!!!!! Question - how do these root lifting products compare to the Redken one you recommended a while back?
Hi Gemma,a view good options for my hair .Try some from the loreal for shore.A nice weekend. And i see youre hair looks healtfy and good.
Your hair looks absolutely amazing 👏🫶
The Drybar blow dry brush and the Hair tools dryer brush are both excellent if you don't want a Dyson air wrap

Just started nioxon so very timely! I also have the treatment mousse - have you used that at all?

If you change the part a bit, it helps add volume. Especially if it needs a wash. All you need is some dry shampoo and a dream.
Whoo-hoo! I’ve been waiting for this video! 😘😘😘
Oh Gemma, I only use my Dyson Airwrap the same way! 😅 such a high cost!! 😂 😮 Thank you for this video. I use the Money Mask too and that consistency is so weird!! It’s so funny!!! 😂😂
My Dyson’s motor died not long out of guarantee 😟 My hairdresser said that she has heard that from several people. Is it that common?
I didn’t like the Dyson air wrap unfortunately,I preferred the revlon one step , I lost a lot of hair after my weight loss surgery and found the L’Oréal elvive in the black bottle really helped as it had biotin in it and found it really helped , now over two years later my hair is a lot thicker . I’m fine, straight & balding…
I have fallen in love with Sisley & John Masters Organics…
i totally agree on the fab scent of the metal detox, it is devine ❤ I wish there would be a perfum with this scent 😊
I love the Wow product! ❤
Apart from using good products try having a really cold rinse after conditioner
Hi Gemma, how do you compare the redken volume mousse to the volume products you mention in this video x
I love the redden, but it does leave a heavier residue on my hair than the 3 I mentioned. Massive volume though x
Yeah I thought it was just me, I hate a residue feeling. I ordered this after it featured in one of your videos but I don't like the feeling it leaves, maybe the olaplex would be better 🤔

I’ve been using dry shampoo for over 40 years and am still healthy enough to work 80 hours a week!
Please don't believe everything you read. A lot of it is scaremongering xxx

I have it done professionally x
Aldi do an amazing dupe for the Living Proof!
Wich one please?!
@@andrea6710it’s called Perfect Proof x
Using products like Nioxin are fine until you stop using them. I tend to stay away from products that I will have to use until the day I die. 😅
Hi Gemma! Color wow bombshell was a huge disappointment for me. Tried & tried but it did absolutely nothing! Complete waste of money ☹️
god you look beautiful -more than ever

Nothing surprises me lol I have straight hair one side curly the other, after radiotherapy 😂😂😂😂
Oh wow it is crazy idk what’s happened lol
Wow! I've never heard of that happening before xxx
