    This problem is also exaggerated if the reed is too soft for the student.

      @@alessandrot-b can be. But wouldn‘t it be the other way round? A low tongue positions exagerates the flatness with a soft reed? Me myself I play 2.5 Vandoren Traditional. Even with a 2 I can play in tune together with a high enough tongue position.

      @@fabianhuegli With a young beginner student that doesn't have super fine control of their tongue position it's definitely more exxagerated
