- Hi everyone. Susie here from Minnesota, zone 4b. So much to do in my gardens right now and I just wanted to show you how imperfect gardening can be. I am not of fan of my gardens in August, but trying to find the upside right now. There is always something to do in my gardens and that is the best part about gardening. Hope you enjoy!

I've drawn so much inspiration from you and your garden throughout the years, and although I don't comment on every video, I do watch and really appreciate that you share these videos! Your garden looks SO pretty. :)
Wow, thank you! That means a lot to me. Thanks for watching
OMGoodness - how beautiful! I always love your garden tours, I think I'm going to "need" white gomphrena next year!
The white Gomphrena took a bit to get growing, but they bush out nicely. The rabbits do like them. Thanks for watching
i love your tours :) I feel you with the heat this last week! ugh....I also get terrible migraines from heat and humidity so this time of year is challenging for me with gardening. I went out this morning for a few and picked some weeds after the rain last night and that was satisfying. I have my eye out on a fire pit like yours on Marketplace. $20 a good deal probably...just haven't pulled the trigger to go pick it up yet. I also love that little bench with the tree stump bench. How cute! we also had so much flooding. I can't even plant anything in our backyard because every few years a huge chunk of our back yard floods. I am talking 5-6 feet of water as we are by a river. Such a waste of planting space! lol.
I think $20 is a great deal. I am used to my gardens flooding at least once or twice in a season, but nothing like this year. I try to look for plants that can handle a lot of moisture due to this issue, but I am a little leery to plant new plants this year. Thanks for watching
Beautiful garden; so much work eh? Love your begonias!
Thanks for watching
Beautiful gardens!❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for visiting
I am in zone 4b northern Ontario we are having the same weather so I appreciate everything you are saying. My garden is looking the same.I planted an elder instead of a Japanese maple I hear your pain ha ha.
It is so nice to hear from a zone 4b gardener. Thanks for watching.
I'd be leary about that sumac because they are known to run everywhere. Thanks for the tour Susie. Bonny
I do know that. I have said in most of my tours that it runs and I also have it in a huge container in the ground. I did forget to mention that in this video. Thanks for watching
@@floralnhardy7332 Good to know.
Very lovely!
Thanks for watching
Lovely. I'm a Minnesota gardener too.
Thanks for watching
I know what you mean about August not being your favorite look in the garden, as I feel the same. BUT things are still looking great there, and I'm jealous of your shade garden 😅
Thanks for watching and your kind comment.
Lovely garden. 😊
Thanks for visiting
I’m in zone 8b, middle GA & when you said it was 84 but felt like 94 I about choked! lol It was 94 here but felt like 104, lots of rain & the humidity is at 73%. I detest August because things here start looking weary. I’ve got some Shasta daisies I bought on the clearance rack to plant but they’ll probably go in partial shade this time of year. Come on Fall.
Your garden looks beautiful ❤
Thanks for watching
Heads up on that Sumac....you'll get runners/spreaders!!!!!
I do know that. I have said in most of my tours how it runs and also that I have it planted in a huge pot in the ground to help with that. Thanks for watching
Loved seeing your garden. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
Thanks for watching
My brunnera self seeded too!❤ I love it when that happens. The rabbits ate all my different types of hostas this year. It's been a rough one! Happy gardening Susie!
I have a lot of Brunnera that self seeded. I see baby Brunnera all over. So excited about that. I wish my neighbor would stop throwing out food scraps. Too many critters. Thanks for watching
I bought assorted Phlox from a catalog year before last, its started blooming this year, its beautiful there is white and a colour between purple and pink, i would have preferred the pink like yours, but am still enjoying them, and it wasn't too expensive, but they came as roots just have to baby them
They smell really nice too. Thanks for watching
A black lace elderberry would look great where the sumac is at. The sumac is going to sucker a lot.
I have the sumac planted in a huge container to help with the suckering. Black Lace Elderberries don't do the best for me. I have one Black Lace Elderberry and it looks great this year because of the mild winter, otherwise half of it usually dies every year. Thanks for watching
Beautiful garden, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching
It's been a tough year for gardening. I'm in WI zone 4. Had all the rain in May and June and everything grew tall. July was too hot to work outside as we live in sandy soil. We had the wind and rain yesterday and my geraniums and phlox took a hit. I hate to say it this early but fall can come any time.
I am looking forward to fall too. I have never said that before, but June was a tough month and I am tired of battling the mosquitoes. Thanks for watching
I love shade gardens. Such beautiful textures. Curious if anyone caught what dogwood variety was talked about maybe around 4-5 mins in
That is an Ivory Halo Dogwood. Thanks for watching
Do you keep your pots with a hosta out in the winter
No. I will have to plant them in the ground somewhere. I have tried before and they have rotted. Thanks for watching
