Some good dove fields are in what is classified as a wetland and require non-toxic shot even if hunting species other than waterfowl that we normally think of with steel. That said, some of the bismuth options are dramatically better than steel and not as expensive as tungsten. They aren’t needed for dove though.
For South Texas I would add cooler with ice and a cowboy hat for sun protection
yeah, for sure.
The cowboy hat is essential anywhere in the south west
1.) fashion
2.) protection from the bastard in the sky
Very informative; good luck Jed. Hopefully this smoke will clear out.
Yeah, it’s like a permanent fog. I’m ready for some clear sky.
We always have ran 7 and half’s or 8ths with lead but that’s why they are running 6 size shot because it’s steal correct me if I’m wrong
Yeah, the steel isn’t as dense, so you’re right- a larger shot size can help it stay lethal at distance.
Well done Jeb.
Thank you.
Steel? Never shot it. Good old lead slinger here.

Bismooth
Yeah, if you can afford it- it’s amazing.
👍
Thanks man.
You put way to much into dove hunting
You get out what you put in. :)
@@BadAtHunting ya, but I just go out there with a 410 and walk around and get plenty.
That must be nice. I guess I’m not as lucky as you. The public land I hunt in CA is highly competitive, so you do whatever you can to get an edge.
@@BadAtHunting oh, California. Well that explains everything. Terrible state for hunting
Funny how hearing protection for hunting is a thing now (last 15-20 yrs). Wonder when soldiers will begin wearing it in combat.
