For me, personally, I'm never going back to mechanical. Yes, extra cost, but way more precise, mixing of components between road/gravel/mtb and ease of use. Bought Red eTap in 2017, and now all my bikes are fitted with Rival or GX AXS groupsets.
I absolutely cannot blame you! If I could I'd do the same but I'm somewhat budget limited so mechanical on my road bike will do for now!
