    One of the few 3rd Gen channels that is not a hack when working on the car. My favorite channel for Diy guides on 3rd gens.

    Very enjoyable, unfortunately I am at a stand still with my LS swap because of teen and single digit temps here in MI. Inside pole barn but no heat, so as usual I loose about 5+ months of anything enjoyable here. looking forward to your next installment.

      Hi Dave I struggle with a similar issue here in Canada, all I do is suit up and keep on keeping on, no need to let the cold stop progress! Things go slower but never stop!

      I'm in Ohio. It's 17 degrees and windy as I type this. My son's 3rd gen is on hold until warmer (30+ degrees) days.

      WA got it's cold snow week (yes I know a week lol)
      temps were 25F ish
      I used a forced air propane heater to get my garage hot enough to even paint my engine bay.
      uses a lot of propane, (1/2 a tank a day) but it gets hot enough to be comfortable

    3:28 I now remove the engine mount bolts this is obviously very dangerous as a giant heavy engine is now unbolted... (now I'm going to finish taking the rest of the car apart).🤣 5:39 Then the engine comes out. Good video though. It's like an episode of How it's made but this is How it's unmade.

  • @biggiemac1997

    At 9:24 I would use the Osmo Dji action camera 📷 with a small led attachment while using the app on your phone so you could see how your framing looks on your phone. I’m gonna give it a try. I hate being busy with work and never make time to do my videos 😞

    • @3rdGenGuy
      @3rdGenGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's not a framing thing, but rather there's no room for a camera or even a small GoPro under the dash.
      there's almost no room for me either, it's hard working under the dash

    • @d-phoenix2198
      @d-phoenix2198 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well generally speaking as much as I have tried to love the 305 it kinda falls a bit short with so many other great gen I options. I am more sad because yet another classic got an LS but I do understand his motives behind this decision. (less weight on the front axles because of the Aluminium block). With that said I think the 305 is quite a decent little engine to push like 300hp and have a nice old school cruiser that you can fix at home as opposed to any over engineered nightmare that came along in the 2000s and up.

  • @Leveluplivin
    @Leveluplivin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    9:09 aww you just gave me an idea
    Since I’m not going to be using my factory cruise control I can used that whole for running other accessory wires like my 4ga amplifier wire and other wire controls right?

    • @3rdGenGuy
      @3rdGenGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it's about a 1.25in hole, so ya.
      you can stuff a lot of wire through there.

  • @jonathandye2812
    @jonathandye2812 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What did you use to plug the fire wall holes and fender hole from all of the stock wiring? I'm doing a similar build and running into issues finding plugs that fit these holes

    • @3rdGenGuy
      @3rdGenGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      round holes can be plugged with cheap plastic plugs and RTV.
      other square holes will get 3d printed plates or just something I cut from aluminum.
