It's really sad to see that Alex hold his back in the beginning of the fourth set, that means his back was hurting. My back is hurting too, when I play table tennis, I know this pain. I hope his back problem is better now
I have to agree, it's super difficult to play at your max or fluid with injury. I don't want to disrespect mikka but it was a factor

@@Ganthium Also 7:36, 9:14, 9:53, 10:04, 10:23 and many other spots. At times he hits his back with his hands, tries to shake out his legs, and other things that make it clear something popped out of place and he's in pain and trying unsuccessfully to get it properly aligned again. This sort of thing has happened to me before while playing sports and it can be excruciating. Coupled with the fact that he was “trapped” in the crucial match while experiencing that... I can imagine how he must have felt. I was of course cheering for Miikka the whole way, it was so intense and an amazing comeback. Way to go Miikka! But only on closer inspection did I realize what an amazing warrior Alex is.

I also saw that, Miikka played well, but Alex had the better odds before his back started hurtung
Although Miika played well, Alex hurting his back is instrumental to Miika’s comeback. I feel like not enough people talk about this. It’s still a fair game, but it is a shame we couldn’t see both players at their best from start to finish.

Very interesting match. Miikka and Alex are basically mirror images of each other! Both are very athletic, vocal, fast-paced players. Just one is lefty and one is righty!
Spoilers.
Never underestimate how much the crowd can work on a player. That 6th set was the big turning point. Alex had been working well being the only encouragement for himself up until then. You'll notice that in the 7th set, he no longer is celebrating his points. The 6th set really pulled the wind out of his sails with that prolonged deuce battle, and he never recovered. He stopped going for shots that he was reaching for only 2 sets ago. The crowd, especially the guy tending the first camera (was it Emil?), really didn't help. It's like they realized the power they had over the match and got louder and louder as it went. The difference between the massive applause when Miikka scored and the silence when Alex scored was palpable.
Anyway, very interesting. Looking forward to the finals match.

MASSIVE forehands from Alex, but SO many times he dumped the ball in the net. He was 100% there or 100% not. I felt bad for the little enthusiasm for Alex, but man Miika, what a comeback!! Great work - he was a tough cookie.
