I love you man, job well done and I will copy it. Now I double dog dare you to draw a colored schematic, and no Crayons... just kidding, and keep rocking the gut and Crocs brother...
Nice work! If im not mistaken XR650L dashboard also has a light for Neutral gear. Is it technically possible to make that neutral light work on the dash? I think XR650R doesn't have any neutral gear sensor right?
I guess I should, my way is a bit more expensive than buying the tusk kit but I like my way better. Drinking beer today and fishing tomorrow but I’ll do it soon.
I’m trying to do a stand alone light system on my 08 kx 450f right now. I plan on using a 5ah dewalt battery since my stator isn’t powerful enough and can’t find an upgraded option. I’m hoping it’s simple
Totally could work, I'd find an easy place to plug it in like from behind the headlight, make it so you can easily reach in to change. Then you could potentially even swap out batteries on the go. Definitely need an LED headlight but the rest is really the same. It's all LED on mine except the headlight. My bike is pretty wimpy at 55w stock, but I think enough for a couple extra LED's. Make sure to film it so other KX owners see your solution. Seems to be a need for your year, looks like 09 got a charge coil.
@@danithaman4610 California stopped allowing plated dirtbikes in 2004, it’s a certain hell no from this state. The only way is out of state. Most people do Arizona. It’s crazy to me because these bikes come with smog pumps for emissions even as pure dirtbikes. California is not known for having common sense.
@@danithaman4610 Got my temporary plate from Dirt Legal yesterday, took the bike on it's first legal ride around the city. Side note, my insurance went down $5 a month due to multi vehicle discount when adding the dirtbike.

The whole engine is different on the two models so I don’t think so. I am about to change the stator, I’ll have a look when the cover is off.
Great video! Would you mind updating the transcript with links to the parts?

Gotta be thorough.

Are you going to plate the bike?
Yes, I’m doing dirt legal due to California never plating anything.
@@jaredgrow they won’t let you plate in CA? Have you called the dmv?
