      I think a key take away for me is that Enes not only vocalises the artistic and emotive side of architecture brilliantly but also has a really great understanding of the technical engineering of the projects as well. A true professional who knows his trade well.

    I'm a long time subscriber of both you guys and this is a crossover I never expected to see! Very interesting conversation. I'd love to see more crossover content, particularly discussing the differences between traditional and luxury construction. Nice one!

    We need more videos on how those mansions are being deviced. Getting into the specific of the wiring, the HVAC, the plumbing... The panel example for the walls was perfect examples of the level of details expected! What a nice "trick" and gave me a ton of idea for dealing with pesky after the fact wiring...

      The coolest thing is looking at the meter when you do the everthing on test. It doesn't look like a meter is looks like a car wheel.

      As he said, it looks like a small hotel. I don’t know what lifestyle would make use of that. To me it looks cold and corporate, maybe more like a dentist office or a shopping mall. Not a home.

      It looks like a beautiful house to me. There's not much mystery/novelty to how historical mansions are built, but I'm sure they could bring some interest. Historical mansions can also look like businesses these days as well, so like you said, to each their own.

      Well, yes, but remember that it's not done, there's no furniture and no one lives there yet. So that's not quite fair, even if it is pretty sterile.

    Enes has an amazing channel! Not just because of the homes, but how he presents them. That being said, as a fan of your channel Matt, I always wondered about the details of these mega mansions.     Around @1:30, it looks like your video editor may have exported out a clip before some sort of Adobe video effect (maybe warp stabilizer) was finished rendering... I assume you didn't mean "Analyzing in background (step 1 of 2)" to appear overlaid on to your video during that part... 😅

    Check out a variable neutral density filter, they can fit in front of your lens and help with shooting in extreme sunlight. Love the colab!

    You know we're fked when there is an actual market for homes in this price range. We live in a country where about 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck and there are people buying homes like this lol. Covid showed us more than ever that money is flowing up.

      The site itself was several million; then add architect, and engineering fees (very important given the size of the building and the location), and he said the foundation took 2 years alone....they have a significant amount of money invested in this home.

    Appreciate the look inside.
    The house interior has the same look as corporate office space we build in Florida. No offense to anyone involved, just funny how different regional tastes are.
    I also noticed a lack of discussion about efficiency, air sealing, etc., which is odd, considering that’s kinda your thing. Are high-end builders in So Cal relying on the mild weather to make up for lackluster practices? I hope not. If anything, the mild weather should make it easy.

    That panelling was definately cool. As a former electrician, as soon as you entered that front entrance, all i saw was beautiful black walls with ugly white bank of switches. hopefully they are only temporary.

    Lived out in SoCal for 16 years. Yes the weather I do miss, but the cost of living there rapidly outpaced what you could make for a living. Yes there is the ultra rare people who can keep up, but nice weather is no replacement for being able to afford to eat.

      I like that the chef's kitchen can close off from the other living rooms. And that the staff can enter and leave through a separate door. I'd like more security zones the keep my staff separate.

    I also follow Enes on his channel and have seen some amazing homes. Bravo for having him and the contractor on to show this amazing home. I would have loved more info on the performance of the house but I understand at that price point they are more interested in their quality of living more than cost. It would be nice to see what they could or have done to mitigate cost for utilities at that price point. I only seen the high end, efficient German HVAC system and one of the hot water heaters. What are the cost saving to using those systems as opposed to others or are they just more reliable?

    It's quite the sight that's for sure, and in many ways it is beautiful, but I can't help but think that there is something obscene about the wealth distribution in a country where someone can buy a private house that costs this much money. I just cannot believe that it is morally right that one person or family has this amount of wealth when so many other hard working, educated, experienced, and intelligent people take home less and less every year.

    Anyone know what the interior doors are made from? The kichen and bathrm counters? I missed this info, I guess.
    I apologize for nitpicking but if i was spending 80M, I'd want the wooden panel in the bathroom to match grains, to blend in with the wood wall. This panel is on wall beside the gorgeous tub.
    The bathroom drawers are fun but I'm too clumsy, whatever I'd spilled on the counter would drip into the drawer.

    It’s an amazing home, but some of the spaces lack warmth imo. It’s well executed but the style is not for everyone. And that’s okay. There’s a reason we have so many architectural and design styles lol

    It's easy to appreciate the thought, detail, and time invested into making a home like this but in reality it's just an overpriced home. At the end of the day does a 1" or 3" space between the glass really make it worth millions more? or the edge of the counter top for that matter? Spend more time and effort fixing the state and city from crime, corrupt politicians etc... because nobody is going to care about another LA mansion when your home is surrounded by scumbags.

    My house has 12' ceilings and 8' doors. Built in 2019...
    That panel system looks amazing.... I would love to put the LEDs in there and the popp panels look amazing... I wonder if you could design your own panels... i.e. make custom wood panels or mix wood and fabric panels or colors... change out with seasons.... CNC etch decore in it them for swapping out for season... limiteless ideas... lol
