man..the memories packed in this mix! takes me back to the years between 5th-8th grade (95-98) ...Space Jam, Penny, Shaq, Grant Hill, Jason Kidd, Jordan, Pippen, Ricky Williams, Luc Longley (lol), Steve Kerr, John Stockton, Gheorge Muresan cologne, Shawn Kemp had his own shoes, McDonald's was amazing, Sprite, Surge, Nintendo 64..geez..those were the days.
My cousin owned a DJ business that I worked for, and I brokered a deal with the principal of my jr high school when I was in 8th grade. The DJ they had was super boring. We played better music, and had a sweet light show setup too. So I got to DJ my school’s dances while I was a student there. Every time I hear this song, it always reminds me of that, because this song was huge at that time, and played it at every dance we did around town. This, Crossroads, Mo Money Mo Problems, Breathe by Prodigy, End of the Road by Boyz II Men, California Love, that one song by Matchbox 20 that everyone liked, Stomp by Kirk Franklin…. Always started off with this Jock Jams song, then Enter Sandman, to get the crowd pumped. Good times…
Genius. But you must have confetti or something blow the lid off the coffin at the end. Big finish. You could do neat pyro but only if you wanted to be cremated ;)
Nearly 15 years on this upload, man has time flown, Even TH-cam has changed a ton since, I vividly remember back in 09 when i rediscovered jock jams, my old self could have never known what my current self would be like.
Jordan sinking inside the paint, Jeter jump throw, Sammy Sosa bunny hop, McGwire dragging his bat up the first baseline, Reggie agonizing The Knicks and Spike Lee, Elway raising the Vince Lombardi trophy, all those images come to my mind when listening to this song.
@AspieWytch Jock Jams makes everything awesomer. That's a word now, thanks to JJ. In a decade that was more down to earth than the 80s, it's comforting to know that Jock Jams went out of its way to be so over the top that I laugh like a moron listening to it even now.
We own a small All-Star cheer gym and will be performing a 1/2 time show Sunday 2/10/19 for the Harlem Globetrotters. And yup. This is the mix we are using.. Old school is the best
OMG?!?!?!?!?! I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR LIKE 2 YEARS AHHH!!!! MY 5TH GRADE TEACHER PLAYED THIS AND EVER SINCE I'VE BEEN ON THE LOOK-OUT FOR THIS :))
Almost 5k views.. And I'm the first comment? Some people don't know how to give feed back to great people that post amazing songs like this, damn you Nubbish TH-cam users.
