A brief style breakdown of the 3 BTS rappers: - j-hope is “retro old school meets new age”. He’s a dancer at his core so his music puts a lot of focus on unique beats and cadence - Suga (alter ego Agust D) is “classical and introspective”. He’s a producer at heart so he will give you the 360 auditory experience - RM is “rhythm and poetry”. He says he’s a poet first before he’s a rapper. Musically he’s most adventurous these days bending genre and sounds. TLDR version: Suga will tell you you are sh*t, RM will explain why you are sh*t, j-hope will tell you it’s okay to be sh*t 😂
My fellow army are not here yet, so I feel a certain responsibility to give you more suggestions 🤣 for more Jhope I'd suggest Hansang (the Lollapalooza performance) or Arson live at Lollapalooza to get an idea of his amazing energy on stage. If you're up for checking the other BTS rappers, I'd suggest Daechwita (by AgustD also called Suga), Interlude shadow (by Suga), Joke (by RM), Persona (by RM), UGH (by all three rappers, I think you'll really like the beat in that one). Also, Mic drop (by all BTS members).. these are just suggestions of course, thanks for the video! Edit: I'm blown away by all the army taking attendance! So wholesome... here's a whale for each of you 🐳 spread that whalien52 connection! 💜
Finally someone who decided to check on J Hope's solo work after listening to his collab with J Cole. He is producer, rapper and dancer, he is just super talented guy. So as an ARMY I appreciate it very much.
THIS is what we mean by how damn underrated bts is despite being so popular 😭 no one ever taps into this side of their music except armys, and i really wish people did! because like an iceberg, there's a whole world under dynamite and butter - these two songs are merely the tip of what bts can do. you just have to put in a little effort to erase your prejudice perception of them and dive a little deeper, because you're in for a real treat with them!
Dive in A LOT deeper! There's an entire vocal line, four incredible voices, and a group discography of at least 150 songs. Damn prejudice against Asians, Americans think they rule the music world and they don't. BTS does.
you mentioned the budget a lot, bts is the reason bighit/hybe is able to pay for those crazy ass videos. they BUILT that company from the ground up. there’s sooooo much more to bts and the members that people who aren’t army don’t understand.
I really enjoy your J-Hope reactions. It’s nice to see someone witnessing his talents for the first time. He has a mixtape and a full album to his name. Arson comes from his studio album released 2022. BTS is literally hip-hop at its core. You should check out the rapline songs next, like Ugh! Ddaeng and the Cyphers. They also covered Born Sinner and it’s called Born Singer. Can’t wait to see your journey.
So much to choose from..idk which to listen to first😂😂but I’m excited to. But definitely want to hear the whole group. If j-hope is this dope..I know the other members gotta be 🔥🔥
@@G.Rudi.B you can’t go wrong with Mic Drop, ON, Black Swan, Save Me or Fire for group songs. They have about 300 songs in total as a group and there is not one bad songs. They do different genre from rap to hip-hop to pop to R&B, etc. The rap line has multiple songs with just the rappers. I’m happy to see new people fall down the rabbit hole. I hope You enjoy! 💜 PS Start maybe with UGH! For rap line song! 🥹
"When i sweat, i shower in petrol" is my favorite line! I think it describes his struggles to be super famous popstar/artist. He's got tons of fans but also haters. This makes him distressed but he keeps "burning” his passion to make music & perfomance.
And in the beginning when no one was sending him fan mail like the rest of the members, he said "it's okay, everything will work out". Look at him now. A headliner at Lalapalooza with his own Disney special.
Don't feel bad. You represent the general public when it comes to perception of BTS. The 3 rappers from BTS have their own style and evolved over time. You may not like all songs but if you love film, you are in for a treat with their videos. Now you know why they have such a diverse fan base. Check out their live cover version of Cole's "Born Singer." I think their cover was why Cole took them seriously. Hehe
j-hope said he uses album jack in the box as his “business card” to introduce himself. He must so happy when his music reach more and more hip hop fans. I appreciate your reaction so muchhh😊
12:00 I really appreciate your open-minded reactions. Best of all, you get it - your respect for J. Cole includes paying attention to his choices & trusting that he doesn't lend his artistry to just anyone. Your respect for the music & the culture really shows. Side note: I watch a fair number of reactions to BTS, but most of them get on my damn nerves because they're so transparently fake. As BTS has grown in popularity, a lot of reactors have figured out that reacting to their stuff is like a shortcut for gaining views & subscribers. Problem is, they usually don't have enough curiosity to understand that our love for BTS is - first & always - about the music. I sincerely hope you do actually react to more J-Hope & BTS. First, because I love watching reactors who know their shit talk about the music. Second, selfishly, I'm always happy to see other Black people discover BTS & realize just how impactful our culture is & how far our reach extends - their success as Koreans who love & honour Hip Hop is yet another affirmation of Black culture. Third, because ARMY rewards genuine reactors, I trust that if you do decide to check out more BTS & you bring this level of energy, interest & enthusiasm, you will see your channel grow.
you said it all! it's so easy to notice when reactors are trying to gain views and when they truly appreciate the songs and their work, and this creator is clearly the second one. good job friend!!
I was beaming with pride the entire time with all the compliments our Hobi was getting because he puts his entire heart and soul into his music and is extremely dedicated. He truly deserves praise so thank you! 💜
j-hope is (and really all of the members are) incredibly versatile. His first mixtape "Hope World" is much different in overall tone from his album "Jack in the Box" but his lyricism is always something to pay attention to. BTS originally grabbed me with their sincerity and their ability to song write and produce themselves. I think it's a great idea for you to check out the group! If you want to start off easing in with just the rappers (there's three of them in BTS - j-hope suga and rm) you can check out UGH!, Ddaeng, or Outro:Tear. You can also check out Hip-hop Phile (which has all seven members) where they talk about the artists they're influenced by (for exp. j-hope mentions j.cole in his verse), their respect for the genre, and what it means to them.
J Hope was born with beat running in his blood. He was a talented street dancer before he came to Big Hit as a trainee and was selected for BTS. He writes his own music and lyrics and takes care of every detail. He is extremely talented. Thank you for this reaction and welcome to ARMY'S world!! 💜💜💜
Hobi is diverse asf, we got shit like Arson, More and then we have stuff like hope world and ego😭 Jhope does a whole 365° with his music, HE FLIPS! Just when I started seeing him for his cheerful and fun personality and happy/good vibe songs he droped JACK IN THE BOX💀 my entire opinion on jhope and bts changed with just that one album. When BTS said "we ain't about the world's expectations" in Yet To Come song they were being serious. Their solo comebacks are NOTHING like what we expected.
My man had Clams Casino to produce this track and J-Hope & Calms Casino are the ones who made the beat, from 0-100 of his song are literally made by him, he has hands in everything (even the MVs!)! He is one of the main songwriters, composers, and producers of BTS as well as the main dancer and dance leader !! This guy is fucking badass, he is like the coolest guy in K-pop! And a true HipHop head !! Please watch MORE too, he dropped MORE before Arson and that song hits hard too! J-Hope's versatility is crazy!
"If you don't know, you don't know, until you know" 100% true. If you want more jhope, you've got more, chicken noodle soup He also has a couple of solo songs under BTS, specifically outro : ego and Just Dance If you're after BTS raps : ugh, cypher part 1-4, ddaeng... I've forgotten so much but there's a lot If you're interested in BTS songs that more about the singing than the rapping, black swan and fake love are good starting points
I believe J-Hope worked with Brass Tracks on the production, but he has his hands in every aspect of his art, down to the direction of his music videos, and the concepts, as well as the fashion and props. if you want to see the behind the scenes, you can see what I'm talking about. You will also see that he is versatile, and BTS don't hold to genre boundaries. Also, if you watch BTS videos, make sure the video you are watching has English subs or fansubs. some of them don't. Also all seven of them are enlisting, and right now they are dropping solo projects. J-Hope will be the second member to enlist, JIN was the first in Decebmer 2022. *Here is a couple BTS songs and live Performance* BTS Born Singer-released (7/11/2013) Live w/Eng. I appreciate your suggested links! Very very comprehensive - especially the last two by Enjoy BTS More - which give beautifully nuanced subbed rendition of j-hope at Lollapalooza!
no, you're like one of the ONLY people who were actually respectful about hobi while reacting to on the street, & watching his solo stuff as well was also super cool of you
I thought I was too old to listen to rap, especially since all I've heard during recent years was.. bragging about bitches and cars and cribs or how "I'm the best and nobody gonna take my spot".. but, then, I found these guys, and, although I prefer rock music and more lyrical songs, my favorite song now is Outro: Tear (check the lyrics, man..). It sounds so good, and the live performances were so hot. I'm Army now, I've been for 5 years, and the safest way to go looking for new music is to follow their recommendations. These guys know music and have thoughts to share with us through lyrics. Add to that their talent as dancers and the way they present themselves to the public, and you'll know why... they've ruined me for any other artist. I have (too) high standards now. Any artist who would deserve my time and money has to train like them, perform live like them, be kind and humble like them, release meaningful songs like them. Not many others can get on that list. But, at least, we have them. Thank you for your videos, you help us tell people how good they are!
I'm into rock/metal as well. As i heard jack in the box from j hope, i swear, i questioned the whole existence of everything. Do i exist? Is the world i live in real? Where and what am i? Did i just imagined the metal vibe cause i wanted to? Did i just died? Yap.. and j hope was the murder. Case closed.
Also, if you’re down to the journey he has the documentary of him creating the album that included this song, him making the beats from scratch layers to layers. He is SO TALENTED. He dance, he make beats, he produced for him and his team BTS, he wrote his lyrics, he bleed hip hop man. “Thats why jcole f w u” exactly man exactly.
On top of everything you just discovered about Jhope, he is magnetic on stage. Yes he can dance. But his stage presence, the comand of the audience and charisma is off the charts, he could teach that shit to 90% of billboard hot 100 singers.
This was produced by Michael Volpe. Although he can and has done producing, he didn't produce this and doesn't do it much. His label has a lot of in-house producers and access to producers all over the world. He writes some great songs though. BTS rappers are known for their writing. J-hope is does a lot of melodic rap, but obviously can do stuff like Arson as well. He headlined at Lollapalooza last year. His whole performance is up on the BangtanTV channel, which is BTS' channel, and it is over an hour of excellence. The first half is more hard-core hip hop, and the second half, he does some dancing and more fun songs as well has solos from BTS albums. If you ever want to know anything about a BTS song (or a member's solo song) just search the song title along with doolset and you'll find great lyric translations that give any needed context as well as info about who wrote/produced the songs. It's an invaluable resource for BTS fans.
J-Hope is one of the best rappers in South Korea. He with more than 11 years of experience in music and Grammy nominees several times. Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Being a open minded person is always appreciated. Thank you for this reaction. j-hope is extremely talented and I'm glad that many people are having the opportunity to finally know him 🥰
I want to point out the crazy lyricism behind this whole song. Basically jhope is talking abt his journey from being a child with dreams to achieving his dreams and more, in the process he put all his effort into basically lighting himself on fire, giving his all to reach here, but eventually it goes way further than he expected to and he's wondering if he should continue with this burning fire or put it out. He put everything into his passion and dreams. "Running" everyday towards it. "Because he wanted it all." However in the process he is tiring/burning himself out and he can't see what his dream is anymore. At first it's tolerable, with the fame and money, but then it slowly progresses and becomes something else, that he had not expected to be present. This is seen in a negative light, as bad experiences that he didnt expect to happen when he was on the road of his dreams. He asks himself "Is it worth it?" "This isnt how I expected it to be, should I go on?" Wondering if he should continue lighting himself on fire to get the jobs done, relating to his career and achievements. In the music video at the beginning everything is burning around him, but as the song progresses his clothes get more and more burnt and the environment around him gets more and more chaotic, and he seems to be bewildered, stressed and confused as to how to move on from here. I think that's a very good metaphor for being burnt out, especially being in the global superstar boyband like bts, constantly being the centre of attention and having countless expectancies placed onto you, they can become burdens. In the song he keeps asking if he should continue on being on fire or stop and extinguish the fire for his own good, but for the betterment of not disappointing the people who have their attention he continues to go on, even though it's getting less and less tolerable, the fire is getting worse, until in the end he collapses, unable to go further, reaching his ending point. That's why it's "arson" he's burning himself to nothing for the sake of his dreams, but are these dreams worth it in the end if it harms him more than heals him in the end? The whole significance of this song and music video is so crazy for me. I relate to it so much and he just puts it into words for yall to understand what's going on in his head. I recommend listening to his solo album if you guys are interested, it is sosososo cool, and my favourite from the solo albums released so far. Jhope is actually a genius.
You're not a jackass or anything of the like! It's not your fault that we aren't regularly exposed to great music, just because it's in another language. I'm glad that you were able to find a path that led you here to listen to this song! Thanks for giving him a chance!
Thank you for being patient and putting up with us Army, we tend to be very loud, protective and love to school everyone on BTS members, it comes from years of dealing with hate and xenophobia. Love that you’re so willing to give another listen to JHope and no apology needed , thank you 💜🫰🏻🙌🏻
You're gonna love jack in the box so much, the whole album is a huge cohesive concept, is so impresive! I recommend you to give it a listen in order with lyrics so you can get more into the story telling. If you love beats and lyrics BTS is right under your alley, I recommend you to check the other rappers works D-2 from AgustD and Indigo by RM ( personal favorites in D-2: What do you think - strange, and from Indigo: lonely - Wildflower). Thank you so much for being so respectful and open minded, is such a source of joy to watch people who actually share this passion for good quality music and actual substance in it, regards from Colombia!
As a videographer, you might want to check out their behind the scenes videos. They are called Bangtan Bombs. They put out an episode for every music video, sometimes it takes a couple months so it's still coming for On The Street. Others have put some great suggestions, so I will just add that there's a channel called Enjoy BTS More that puts subtitles on their performances, including his Lollapalooza set. So it's a little easier for us to enjoy. 💜 Thanks and welcome!
JHope is a creative genius on all levels: the way he produces music, the way he adds various sounds and adlibs to spice things up, the way thinks of the whole concept, the way he comes up with the performance ideas, not even talking about his dance(he’s a dance God), his execution, the way he plays with his voice!!! He is everything
thank you for your kind words to our J-Hope. I always love watching reactions where people show the genuine joy and love for music and discovering talent outside the borders of the english language.
I have been WAITING for this lol I wanted to see a reactor who was introduced to J-Hope through "On Th Street" with J Cole and to see the difference between when J-Hope's paying homage to J Cole as his idol, and then J-Hope tearing it up and spitting fire in "Arson." I was not disappointed - this was everything! I love how you did the same thing as I did - like double take wtf okay bro - you are a true hip hop artist -straight facts - I apologize lol I understand - yup me too! Best Reaction!
Jhope is distinguished by being far from K-pop and a lover of old school hip-hop, as he is descended from the street dance culture and the ancient original art of hip-hop. J-hope is one of the few distinguished people in Korea, and this is what made me obsessed with his songs, their strong rhythms, their lyrics, and so his last album jack in the box is such a masterpiece Actually hope has an mixtape ( Hope world) based on cole world . I’ll wait for your reaction to some Jhope’s stuff and especially his performance in lollapalooza 🙏🏻❤️🔥 dude you’ll blow up
Now you understand why even though some of us don’t understand what he’s saying after reading the lyrics we’re sold and stand for BTS and all the members individually.💜
As a hip hop head and Army, it’s so dope to see your genuine reaction. I share the same sentiment I love “dope beats and dope lyrics” as well. That’s why BTS caught me by surprise when I first fell into the rabbit hole. They have BOTH and they don’t just fall into one genre. They explore and experiment and I’m never bored as a fan. Excited to see your journey, love your reactions so far 💜✌🏼
Every single song in his Jack in the Box album is a quality song. You should check out the whole album. Clams Casino is the producer and JHope is the songwriter. There are also two other rappers in BTS, and they were underground rappers before they became BTS.
You should watch his entire set from when he headlined Lollapalooza this past summer. BTS is one of the few acts on the planet right now that are even better live than their studio tracks, and j-hope is no exception. Mic always on, stage presence insane
Thanks for trying to know more and checking this one out! That beat was produced by Clams Casino but I think he still had a big hand in the mixing and ofc wrote and recorded everything himself! If you're interested he shows a lot of his process in his Disney + documentary "Hope in the Box", including this song! Feel free to check it in your own time he shows behind the scenes of his album making, promotion and Lollapalooza performance including the moment he meets Cole for the 1st time! 💜
ARMY when suggesting people to listen to BTS ARMY should also suggest them to read doolset website lyrics. First listening to the music then read from doolset. TH-cam ones are bad. Even official channels translations are simplified in some parts. (Example:- Suga's verse in that that. So many ARMY don't know the real lyrics and meaning. It's unfortunate right? BTS work hard on them) specially rap has more substance. Also for other songs too. People neglect the lyrics of BTS. They don't see the explanations of it. The wordplay and things like that from TH-cam translations. Let's encourage other ARMY'S to suggest it too when suggesting BTS music to others. I know a lot of ARMY'S don't know the meanings behind mic drop lyrics too. It's Korean and Japanese versions has even more amazing lyrics. We can tell people to look into them too.
@@lakshi9276 Yes good point! And I do sometimes but I don't think here is the most relevant song or moment, it's just his 2nd BTS related reaction so not sure he's gonna do a lot more! I definitely know that lyrics videos are terrible or hard to read along so I definitely agree with you... Yes I am too much on TH-cam thanks for calling me out😭😭
@@mae__ I thought telling them to check it out from the beginning is good because people forget about it. Idk if anyone cares to do it later. They end up believing TH-cam lyrics are the correct meaning. Don't see their depth. Idk i feel bad about it. I like diving into amazing lyrics myself. That's why I'm kind of encouraging about it. I see your comments several times in the channels i go to often. It's nice to see you. Your comments are always nice.
@@lakshi9276 Definitely get your point! BTS' lyricsm is one of the most intricate and thought-provoking I ever came across but sometimes maybe I'm underestimating but I'm not sure some reactors are will to go that extra mile. But for me definitely if every reactor could watch the mv, then go to doolset and discuss the lyrics that would be best!! Hopefully other ARMYs will see this discussion and push also in this direction!! Thanks for your kind words💜💜
Honestly, don’t feel bad that you didn’t know. J-Hope would be ecstatic to find out that someone found him through his idol so he wouldn’t judge you for that either. Also I really like watching your reactions because of anybody you appreciate the artistry and talent and thoughtful choices the boys put in their stuff
Thank you for giving JHope and our boys a chance, having an open mind. We the ARMY appreciate your honesty, passionate review and covering Jhope's talent.
It's honestly crazy because j-hope is such a great rapper, writer, producer, singer, and dancer but his top skill is performance. So as phenomenal as he is at all of that, I promise you will never see anyone outdo him on a stage. Mother Beyonce might be an exception. But he's really that good. BTS got as big as they are because they are performers and j-hope is the dance and performance leader of that crew. Check out his set at Lollapalooza this year. Jaw on the floor, I promise. :)
Hey, thank you so much for giving Arson (and j-hope) a chance and for listening and perceiving with an open mind. J-hope was initially recognized as the 'sunshine' of the group. Despite having heavy and rather dark lyrics, his beat when working for BTS as well as his first mixtape (called Hope World) was mostly on the brighter side. With Jack in the Box, he was officially introducing a different side of him. He has been very diligent and committed to letting people in on his music, and to reaching a wider audience especially in the hip-hop scene. And now seeing Arson reaching out to you, I feel like his mission is slowly being accomplished and I'm so happy, both for j-hope and for you (you know you are in for a treat) I have been a BTS fan for seven years now and j-hope has been my bias from the start, and watching you reacting to Arson, I feel like I'm being brought back to the first years of BTS where a lot of people were getting to know them for the first time. It's always a good time. Not gonna lie I cried a bit while watching your reaction video. J-hope is a man of growth: committed to improving himself and his skills so I hope he sees your video cause I know he's gonna be happy as heck. I see that ARMYs have been giving you such fire recommendations, so have fun in your BTS/j-hope journey. BTS is made of extremely talented and hardworking musicians with each their own unique artistry and genres, and I hope there's one or two that you would enjoy. Appreciate you, brother.
As Army, I really appreciate your humility and sincerity in your reactions - qualities we all love about BTS themselves. The respect you show J-Hope as an artist and to Army is really beautiful. Watching anything from BTS through new eyes is always a joy when someone really gets it. Excited to join you as you leap down the “rabbit hole”
Watching JHope grow has been an amazing journey. He started as a very talented hip hop dancer and started learning through Suga and RM. Slowly his style came into being and Jack in the Box is a masterpiece. I am so freaking proud of him.
Please react to the 2 others rappers of BTS with : - Rm JOKE - Suga DAECHWITA And together : - UGH! - Cypher medley live, this video : BTS (방탄소년단) Cypher Medley (ft. Supreme Boi) live in Seoul 2017 [ENG SUB] [Full HD] - Outro Tear live at wembley, this video : BTS (방탄소년단) OUTRO: TEAR Live Performance - Eng Sub
Thank you for giving our sunshine another listen! With "On The Street (With J Cole)" Hobi has copyrighted 133 song writing credits. Most of those are for beats and lyrics.
Thank you so much for checking out Jhope!! Honestly, BTS has the three best rappers in Korea. A couple other Jhope songs you might like are More and Airplane. I also recommend Joke by RM ( do. A lyric video and the official music video, because the MC doesn’t have subtitles) and Daechwita by AgustD. And most Americans want to think of BTS as nothing but a boy band, but they are largely self-produced and they perform a lot of different genres. Check out BTS’s Outro Tear live. It will melt your mind.
Oh i usually despise watching reactions because many people are hunting for views but i can thatspark of excitement in your eyes and it’s like watching/listening to this track for the first time again :D really loved it! Thanks and peace
So happy you are loving our sunshine, you got to check out the rest of the group. I am 54and discovered them last year and fell hard. I claimed them as my sons.
Dude!!! BTS rap line is called Cypher! Check out "Outro Tear" and "Ugh" it's 3 of them! RM. SUGA AND JHOPE. YOURE WELCOME!!! Love your reaction! Thank you for the positive vibes and giving Hobi a chance!!! 💜 P.S Future also has a song with Suga (rapper from BTS. "Girl of your dreams" RM (rapper and leader of BTS has collabs with Eryka Badu and he did an interview with Pharrell!)
@nunu1869 Some corrections: “Girl of My dreams” is a Juice WRLD song featuring SUGA, not Future. RM and SUGA also collaborated with Juice WRLD in the song “All Night”. RM is the one that has more collabs with American rappers, the list is long. BTS rap line has 4 Cypher songs. Checking them out in order will show their evolution in their own individual rap styles.
@Dani Torres I meant juice world! My bad! Lol and I know RM got lots of collabs! :) thanks fam! I'm aware of the other songs! Been army since 2017! Thanks for correcting me though! It's too long to list all the songs! I'm sure he will discover on his own!!! :))) that's how I did! No one I know personally likes BTS! :) or know of them. But slowly but surely they will!
he’s really made all of this album himself. he said he wanna go out of his style, his comfort zone. he’s really stressful stuck in studio 24/7 that time. and this album is on fire. when u said u feel like idiot, i feel youuuu ,like where am i before didnt know him. haha
It’s been so cool to see this new branch of fans for J-Hope the past year and few months with his solo journey. It’s kinda emotional for me and for some others I’m sure who remember a time when he was severely hated on and basically known as the “least liked” member of the group. A lot of people wanted him out of BTS, so to see him finally get his flowers is amazing. Thank you🙏🏾💜
I would second UGH as well but would rather you do a poppy song first like Butter or Boy With Luv and then UGH. Think the contrast would be more entertaining to see. 😆
You’re gonna have so much fun going through J-Hope’s and the rest of the rapline in BTS’s discography! I’m legit so excited for you, it’s gonna be a ride. If you’re still looking for suggestions: THE CYPHERSSS (1, 2, 3, and 4!) All of them have specific themes for each one and all three of them go at it with their own heat and double/triple/quadruple entendres and flows🔥
Your surprise over him makes my heart a lot happier today. Thank you for appreciating his talent. I did not know I would love this type of his music, but it is just so impressive when you see how love REALLY transcends every boundaries. my Army heart so so so touched. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you for checking out J-Hope and his hit track Arson! It has been so cool to see the Dreamville and Hip Hop community discover his artistry and story and support the collab between J-Hope & J Coles On The Street! I would love to get your thoughts on J-Hopes other track list hit, More, from the Jack In The Box album!
It's good to find people like you on the internet, most people have small minds and you don't, people who are willing to discover new paths are extremely admirable After all, how can you judge something without going there first, thank you for giving Jhope's work a chance.
I think I binged all your BTS reactions in one night and I really have to say they've made my heart happy. It's really nice to see someone appreciate their talent broken down like this. Pause ALL you need - they go so fast!
Thankyou for checking out, Arson really gives me goosebumps everytime I listen. He surely is one of the most talented Rapper. He is known as Flow Jesus, and yes he is craftsman for all his work.
It’s okay not to know! As long as your open to learning which it is very clear you are! Thank you for being so respectful and kind even when you didn’t know of him ❤❤❤
j-hope has been in the underground scene as a dancer since he was a child, so music is his way of life. After joining BTS he got into creating it too without letting go of his original dancer roots but keeping true to himself and his style. He’s always made music which is genuinely good and not for the mass appeal like almost all other Korean artists and rappers. He ain’t no newbie, he’s as seasoned an artist as it gets who’s confident in himself and his art.
Thank you for giving him a chance! You should watch MORE by j-hope, there's a music video! I also recommend watching his Lollapalooza performance, especially What If (he sampled ODB's Shimmy Shimmy Ya on that track!). All of his discography is incredible and Jack in the box is absolutely fantastic, so is his mixtape Hope World. There's also the remake of Chicken Noodle Soup he did with Becky G, it's iconic as well. As for BTS as a group you should watch any live performance of Outro: Tear by the rapline, that shit is fire too. It was written when the group was contemplating disbandment so the lyrics hit hard.
No lie, j-hope is an artistic genius. He can do it all. His creativity and attention to detail from his concept to beat & lyrics to performance is exquisite. His Jack in the Box solo album is a different concept that didn’t showcase his dancing but he dances like no other. The way he moved in On The Street is just a taste. I’m playing catch up watching your reaction vids. I won’t repeat too much more of what other ARMYs have said - the background info and recommendations are spot on. Like many of us you’ll end up watching videos multiple times trying to absorb the layers before you can just watch it to enjoy. I get caught up in the visual and forget to read lyrics and vice versa over and over. But truly you can feel what he’s saying even before spending time on subtitles which speaks to his talent. And the way he seamlessly switches language, often several times per verse is incredible. ARMYs use the word duality a lot and j-hope is the epitome. The way you’re processing and analyzing is making me choke up because it feels like I’m experiencing it again for the first time which is beautiful, so thank you.
thank you for taking the time and listening to Jhope outside of on the street. really means a lot. 🙌 wish they had more respect! they’re all talented and are really great in what they do. hope you enjoy listening to more of JHopes work, check out Agust D, RM solo work . and BTS has great raps. welcome to BTS 💜🫰🏼
Another fellow ARMY finding their way to join you on your journey down the rabbit hole. There’s an unspoken understanding for ARMY watching MVs and listening to new songs. Watch/listen once to enjoy the visuals and song, second time is for reading the lyrics, third time is when it all clicks in to place.
Check out HIP-HOP LOVER and BORN SINGER. It's a good intro to their group work from here. BORN SINGER is the BTS adaption of BORN SINNER by J.Cole in 2013 when they debuted and J.Cole gave them permission to use it for the first track of their 9th-anniversary anthology album on June 13, 2022. English lyric videos are available on youtube since ARMY translates them into every language. Thanks for listening! :)
Also: thank you for taking the time to breakdown the lyrics, the beat, his cadence, the cohesion of the video & just…thanks for taking the time to truly try to understand it
So glad to hear you say you appreciate music, regardless of who makes it. Good music is good music. Periodt. Pray for them all as they will be fulfilling their military conscription. One is in already and the rest will go soon, most likely before the end of the year. We're bracing for it but we know we're not ready. It's gonna be hard for us ARMYs.
I really appreciate your genuine interest in J-Hope's music, it's so refreshing to see someone finally appreciating what Armys have been saying all along! Rapline is 🔥 BTS at its core are hip-hop lovers, appreciates, and respectful AF!
Let's check 3 rappers in BTS! All are produced by themselves. RM - Persona, Wild flower Suga - Shadow, Daechwita(This word is from the title of the Korean traditiona music playing when the King and army march)] Jhope - Daydream, Hangsang(live form Loolapalooza) And "Mic drop MV" and "RUN BTS dance pranc"e by all 7 BTS members! I deeply appreaciate your open mind and giving a chance to Jhope again. If you had no prejudice, you would meet the whole new world!! Welcome to the world of BTS!!!!
Don’t feel bad about not knowing him! It’s honestly exciting to see people discover JHope and BTS! If you want more Jhope you should listen to his Jack in the Box album. It’s not too long but is full of sick beats and amazing rap. He also has a mixtape called Hope World (inspired by Cole World) that has a different feel but is just as good in my opinion!
Thank you so much for doing this reaction and checking out J-Hope for yourself. I love when people get to discover the guys and get blown away like this. They worked so hard and are mega talented in so many ways. Arson is one of my favs and honestly it only scratches the surface of what J-Hope and what the rest of BTS can do. Hope you check out more of their stuff! They're AMAZING.
A brief style breakdown of the 3 BTS rappers:
- j-hope is “retro old school meets new age”. He’s a dancer at his core so his music puts a lot of focus on unique beats and cadence
- Suga (alter ego Agust D) is “classical and introspective”. He’s a producer at heart so he will give you the 360 auditory experience
- RM is “rhythm and poetry”. He says he’s a poet first before he’s a rapper. Musically he’s most adventurous these days bending genre and sounds.
TLDR version: Suga will tell you you are sh*t, RM will explain why you are sh*t, j-hope will tell you it’s okay to be sh*t 😂
The TLDR though 🤣🤣
OMG 😂
Yup yup 🤣
🤣🤣🤣 That was awesome! And correct!
😂😂😂😂 You have just described perfectly our 3 beloved rappers from BTS!
We slowly showing up lol 💜
@@tingtingboll yaaass 💜
Present and accounted for! LOL
Love ur suggestions🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I also personally agree with the line up💜
Army right here!!!💜♥️
Finally someone who decided to check on J Hope's solo work after listening to his collab with J Cole. He is producer, rapper and dancer, he is just super talented guy. So as an ARMY I appreciate it very much.
Frfr!!!
I second the appreciation. I hope this is not his last.
I know J. Cole doesn’t work wit jus any ol body..so I knew it had to be something to this guy and I was right 💯🔥🔥
@@G.Rudi.B I think you will like '"more"" by j hope. highly recommend the "J hope MAMA performance 2022"
@@G.Rudi.Bhy... You really need to watch him dancing. Look Jhope dancing in Vlive. For sure You ll thank me later
Well said😎
I'm not much into kplp these days but i dig these style of their songs
That is a fact! I keep trying to let people know ❤ these boys are legit they are amazingly talented and decent.
Dive in A LOT deeper! There's an entire vocal line, four incredible voices, and a group discography of at least 150 songs. Damn prejudice against Asians, Americans think they rule the music world and they don't. BTS does.
@@bambambi5918well that’s a good thing because BTS is beyond Kpop
WE’VE BEEN TRYINGGGGGGG TO TELL EVERYONE BUT NO ONE LISTENS TO US. all the members are INSANELY talented. thank you for appreciating our hope 🫶🏻💜
you mentioned the budget a lot, bts is the reason bighit/hybe is able to pay for those crazy ass videos. they BUILT that company from the ground up. there’s sooooo much more to bts and the members that people who aren’t army don’t understand.
💜🥰
Ik
Amen to this …Army has been screaming for a long time about BTS !!! And all their talent !! You gotta watch the making of this Album Jack in the Box !
The struggle is real 😅💜
I really enjoy your J-Hope reactions. It’s nice to see someone witnessing his talents for the first time. He has a mixtape and a full album to his name. Arson comes from his studio album released 2022. BTS is literally hip-hop at its core. You should check out the rapline songs next, like Ugh! Ddaeng and the Cyphers. They also covered Born Sinner and it’s called Born Singer. Can’t wait to see your journey.
Arson is from 2022*
@@KiahRenamae typo…
Ddaeng would feed the streets
Agreed
Coming back here because I miss your reaction videos 😭😭
Everything you said!!
Best comment in this comment section
You are so well spoken 💜
you said it all! it's so easy to notice when reactors are trying to gain views and when they truly appreciate the songs and their work, and this creator is clearly the second one. good job friend!!
It was the bomb just watching you react to J-hope's music.
I was beaming with pride the entire time with all the compliments our Hobi was getting because he puts his entire heart and soul into his music and is extremely dedicated. He truly deserves praise so thank you! 💜
7:58 there are 6 other members too
And you’ll see
j-hope is (and really all of the members are) incredibly versatile.
Hobi is diverse asf, we got shit like Arson, More and then we have stuff like hope world and ego😭
Jhope does a whole 365° with his music, HE FLIPS!
He is soooo slept on even I didn't know how much I was missing myself 😂
If you want more jhope, you've got more, chicken noodle soup
He also has a couple of solo songs under BTS, specifically outro : ego and Just Dance
If you're after BTS raps : ugh, cypher part 1-4, ddaeng... I've forgotten so much but there's a lot
If you're interested in BTS songs that more about the singing than the rapping, black swan and fake love are good starting points
It occurs to me, I meant jhope has a song called "more"... just wanna make that clear
Also his solo songs in BTS are “Boy Meets Evil” and “Mama”
From his solo SoundCloud songs “First Verse”
I wish when people recommend BTS songs to newbies, they would include recommending some good explanation videos with them.

@@VIDAH_ thanks
no, you're like one of the ONLY people who were actually respectful about hobi while reacting to on the street, & watching his solo stuff as well was also super cool of you
I thought I was too old to listen to rap, especially since all I've heard during recent years was.. bragging about bitches and cars and cribs or how "I'm the best and nobody gonna take my spot".. but, then, I found these guys, and, although I prefer rock music and more lyrical songs, my favorite song now is Outro: Tear (check the lyrics, man..).
Well said. Fully agree with you.
You’re never to old for anything 😊
Yessss 💜
Agreed!! BTS are truly exceptional artists, and their discography is a gold mine!! 💜👏
Take it slowly man~ thank you for the appreciation. Jhope is such a talented artist.
J-hope at lollapalooza was amazing and the crowd too
Armys were wild, he was incredible.
On top of everything you just discovered about Jhope, he is magnetic on stage. Yes he can dance. But his stage presence, the comand of the audience and charisma is off the charts, he could teach that shit to 90% of billboard hot 100 singers.
I swear I rewatch this entire reaction once or twice every couple months!
I'm back again after watching this 7 months ago when you dropped it because 1) I miss J-hope and 2) I love your reactions.
Jhope is actually a genius.
amazing breakdown💜💜💜💜💜
Thanks and welcome!
Also some older behind them scenes don’t have cc but if you go to Bangtan Sub channel they should have the video with English subtitles.
3:10 According to Spotify credits Arson is written by J-Hope & Michael Volpe and produced by Clams Casino
thank you for your kind words to our J-Hope.
J-hope is one of the few distinguished people in Korea, and this is what made me obsessed with his songs, their strong rhythms, their lyrics, and so his last album jack in the box is such a masterpiece
Actually hope has an mixtape ( Hope world) based on cole world .
I've seen you a lot in TH-cam. I thought you'd be a great person to say this.
And now seeing Arson reaching out to you, I feel like his mission is slowly being accomplished and I'm so happy, both for j-hope and for you (you know you are in for a treat)
I have been a BTS fan for seven years now and j-hope has been my bias from the start, and watching you reacting to Arson, I feel like I'm being brought back to the first years of BTS where a lot of people were getting to know them for the first time.
4:05 On the street, you were being a little friendly, but he f***ing you up on this one 😂😂😂😂😂😂. This is hilarious. Love the review.
Please react to the 2 others rappers of BTS with :
- Rm JOKE
- Suga DAECHWITA
And together :
- UGH!
- Cypher medley live, this video : BTS (방탄소년단) Cypher Medley (ft. Supreme Boi) live in Seoul 2017 [ENG SUB] [Full HD]
- Outro Tear live at wembley, this video : BTS (방탄소년단) OUTRO: TEAR Live Performance - Eng Sub
Yes please !!
TEAR LIVE WEMBLEY VERSION FOR SURE. LEGENDARY.
I claimed them as my sons.
enjoyed this reaction ! i’m learning more about j-hope too after “on the street” 😆 bro i didn’t know either ! gotta check out more
Airplane is my J Hope recommendation. It’s from his first mixtape called Hope World. There’s an MV with subtitles! It’s my anthem 😂
Dude!!! BTS rap line is called Cypher! Check out "Outro Tear" and "Ugh" it's 3 of them! RM. SUGA AND JHOPE. YOURE WELCOME!!! Love your reaction! Thank you for the positive vibes and giving Hobi a chance!!! 💜
P.S Future also has a song with Suga (rapper from BTS. "Girl of your dreams"
RM (rapper and leader of BTS has collabs with Eryka Badu and he did an interview with Pharrell!)
@nunu1869
Some corrections:
“Girl of My dreams” is a Juice WRLD song featuring SUGA, not Future.
But slowly but surely they will!
he’s really made all of this album himself. he said he wanna go out of his style, his comfort zone. he’s really stressful stuck in studio 24/7 that time. and this album is on fire. when u said u feel like idiot, i feel youuuu ,like where am i before didnt know him. haha
I really like your honesty yet you're still very respectful. Not easy to find reactors who really love music for the music
I got so many chills from hearing you compliment him. Thank you for being so open minded. I'll be checking out your other videos!
Thank you🙏🏾💜
no way i’m an army i didn’t know this 😢
@@skyybanni6667 he used to not get any fanmail😢
@@skyybanni6667 yeah it was bad. I’m glad it’s a thing of the past💜
I need ah BTS song to tap into next..as a newcomer which song do y’all recommend I listen to first???
Definitely UGH from the rapline, the beat is insane and the lyrics are so deep that got me thinking a couple of weeks about my online behaviour
I would second UGH as well but would rather you do a poppy song first like Butter or Boy With Luv and then UGH. Think the contrast would be more entertaining to see. 😆
Mix Drop remix with Steve Aoki , UGH , DDAENG
Born singer-BTS
Or hip hop phile
You’re gonna have so much fun going through J-Hope’s and the rest of the rapline in BTS’s discography! I’m legit so excited for you, it’s gonna be a ride.
If you’re still looking for suggestions: THE CYPHERSSS (1, 2, 3, and 4!) All of them have specific themes for each one and all three of them go at it with their own heat and double/triple/quadruple entendres and flows🔥
couldnt agree moreeee
thank you so much for checking this out!! you have the prettiest eyes btw
Your surprise over him makes my heart a lot happier today. Thank you for appreciating his talent. I did not know I would love this type of his music, but it is just so impressive when you see how love REALLY transcends every boundaries. my Army heart so so so touched. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
You will appreciate Jhope more by watching his live performance at last year’s Lollapalooza !
Ahhh thank you for your reaction and giving more of his music a chance. Glad you enjoyed it!!
Bro, finding you was a miracle. Your appreciation of music for what it is got me so hype. Respect
Thankyou for checking out, Arson really gives me goosebumps everytime I listen. He surely is one of the most talented Rapper. He is known as Flow Jesus, and yes he is craftsman for all his work.
As an army fan, we appreciate your research and that you give our Hobi his props. Suscribed! 💜
It’s okay not to know! As long as your open to learning which it is very clear you are! Thank you for being so respectful and kind even when you didn’t know of him ❤❤❤
You're so sweet and real and genuine and honest, thank you so much
j-hope has been in the underground scene as a dancer since he was a child, so music is his way of life.
Just finished watching your reaction to Jhope on the streets and thought I'd have to wait to see you react to Arson... I'm so excited to be wrong!
Thank you for being so respectful about his music 🙌🏼 J-Hope is very talented, very hard working artist and is an amazing rapper 💜
I like your positive reaction to J-Hope.
Respect. So happy you have found Jhope. Enjoy the trip. Hit up 'More' and Bts 'Tear' or their Cyphers 1 - 4
thank you for taking the time and listening to Jhope outside of on the street. really means a lot. 🙌 wish they had more respect! they’re all talented and are really great in what they do. hope you enjoy listening to more of JHopes work, check out Agust D, RM solo work . and BTS has great raps. welcome to BTS 💜🫰🏼
You should see him perform it live!!! He goes crazy crazy 😭😭😭😭😭💜
God cover this man indeed. The world needs all the J-Hope he can give.
"We need more" wellllll he has a song called MORE too!
Here’s the link to the live version of Born Singer (1st song in the clip) th-cam.com/users/live9sJ_I1lHpps?feature=share
after all I get so excited that a new person gets to know my guys, thank you GameBoyy 310
We got another one, Army 😂💜 I can't wait to hear him screaming from the bottom of the rabbit hole lmao
I was CACKLING as soon as he popped back up. "We got another one". Can't wait to see him in the rabbit hole. 🤣💜
I really appreciate your genuine interest in J-Hope's music, it's so refreshing to see someone finally appreciating what Armys have been saying all along! Rapline is 🔥 BTS at its core are hip-hop lovers, appreciates, and respectful AF!
You can find this song live performance with lollapalooza j-hope's performance and j-hope MAMA performance
i appreciate youu thank you for all the recognition and respecttt
Arson is my absolute fav!!!! he KILLED it
Let's check 3 rappers in BTS! All are produced by themselves.
RM - Persona, Wild flower
Suga - Shadow, Daechwita(This word is from the title of the Korean traditiona music playing when the King and army march)]
Jhope - Daydream, Hangsang(live form Loolapalooza)
And "Mic drop MV" and "RUN BTS dance pranc"e by all 7 BTS members!
I’m coming from your recent V reaction video, it’s so cool to go back one year to see you discover BTS organically. 💜
