Hello from Tasmania Australia, you’re doing things a bit differently to a lot of other videos, I think I’ll be doing my 109 gearbox the same way, looks far easier. Great videos, looking great.
Exceptional work. That Land Rover will be good for many years to come and how impressing. This is by far the best video I've found so far on the series restoration work. Do you fancy rebuilding my gearbox?
Thank you! ☺️ We plan to use the series daily so it will get "Slightly Tuned" during the restoration just to make it a bit more reliable and pleasant to drive, but yes hope it will be good for many years... 😀
Thanks for sharing your experience. Is this a LT76 box? Are there any improvements fitted - in terms of durability, longevity and oil leaks? What about the torque if the iveco diesel compared to the genuine engine?
Gearbox as on video was sealed hopefully good enough not to leak, parts inside are standard, some new, some refurbished, some left in good condition as is.... Comparing engines, 164Nm/62kW for Iveco vs 140Nm/46kW original LR diesel, also Iveco is spinning higher and that should improve speed. Overall not that much of a difference which was intended so it should be without any problems for gearbox and main gain was to get a daily driver with a reliable engine
Thank you! It's neutral cure silicone, the one without any smell....the smelly one is acetoxy silicone and I think that's what is considered regular silicone. Usually neutral is better to use with any type of metal and anything that's not acid friendly
😄 hopefully no oil leakage....but if series is like Mini.... I've given my best to seal the Mini engine and transmission but after every ride a few drops of oil are on the garage floor, guess that's standard 😄
Hello from Colorado ,USA. Very impressing, I enjoyed every second of your video!
Thank you very much! ☺️ I'm glad you enjoyed it

اعجبني😮هذا مذهل من الجزائر
Thank you! 😊
Didn't you find ant chipped teeth or stripped threads? Great work and great filming.
Some gears were chipped but fortunately we had two sets from two cars so it wasn't a problem to pick the better ones. Thank you very much!
Great work. :))
What is that sealant in the tube you are using? Regular silicone?

its much easier to pre assemble 2 nd and 3 rd on the bench then install
to tighten latshaft bolt u need a clutch plate with a slice cut out of it like a pizza
Didn't know that, thanks for the tip (also 2nd and 3rd gear) thanks!
Not a real factory restoration then because the gearbox and transfer case won't leak oil!😄
