I love that they included the fact that she had to go back to work and try a second time! The plan hit a snag but she didn’t quit!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Fully agree. Huge that they included that because that kind of international move is a huge decision and having to regroup is more than understandable!!!
Hold on to your dream!!! 😊
Only one life to live. Congrats on actually LIVING it and taking a chance.
It’s hard to leave a cushioned job to go into baking or culinary. I left my career of being an architect of 10 years to become a chef owner. 5 years since and I would never go back to a desk job. Live your dream girl! Congratulations ❤
How is it going
Why never a desk job?
@@earlem9771Because it's usually not memorable. you don't remember what you did last October. most desk jobs aren't creating anything visible, and aren't creative. meanwhile jobs like event management, theatre planer etc (even teacher) are much more fulfilling. you actually see your results, see that you've had an impact on this planet, and you remember the events.
I'm so happy her. She genuinely looks happier and feels better. She's living a more fuller life in South of France. It's never too late to take a risk and do something you love. ❤😊😊
Exactly!
finally not a tiktok or vlogger
Tictok goes down next year
Hahaha agree
@@PennyMsElite down where?

She is on TikTok and Instagram.
This is my friend!!! She’s the best!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
Do you still talk
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Val is the best.! We worked together during our internship in Grignan.! So happy for her.! She deserves all the good things 💛💛💛
We’re you guys friends
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Her voice sounds so lovely to the ear.
I wonder how long it takes for certain people that watch these videos of other people moving abroad showing off the cost of food and how drastically different it is, for them to realize that the cost of food and other services here in the U.S. has far more to do with greed than it does with inflation.
Well it’s not black n white like that.. the cost of living in the US is higher but the incomes are also higher than France (and most of Europe actually).
Is it better to earn 100k and pay 2k for a one bedroom rental… or is it better to make 30k and pay $600 ? I think there’s less of a difference when we make an 🍎 to 🍏 comparison
As long as they're not right wingers, they already know that.
That part
@@garyish Actually the salaries in France and most of Europe are much lower than in the United States, however their lower salaries affords them a better quality of life than most Americans.
@@inmytravelstoday you are saying the same thing I am saying but in an opposite way.
I love her way of talking. She’s so soft spoken and her voice is soothing.
I don't know if you will see this but thank you so much for sharing your story. I am going through radiation for a brain tumor and if the treatment doesn't work, I will need to make the most of my time. Thank you for helping me realize that sometimes you need to take that chance and it might end up being more happier and worth it than you ever imagined. Off to Italy I go! ❤
I hope everything works out.
I will Pray for You.🙏🏽
I love this Video showing this Young Woman's decision to put her Mental Health 1st.
I have been considering moving abroad to Italy myself, however, I could not leave my Aging Mom right now (the U.S. has definitely become way too Stressful).
But one day, I know that this Move will Happen.
At any rate... Continue to Trust God!
Stay Strong! 🙂
Best of luck to you 🙏 I hope your treatment is a success, and you have many years ahead of you. Enjoy your trip to Italy!
❤
All the best gloria! Praying for a full 100% recovery
I hope your health is restored!
Some jobs are so miserable that it is not worth another day of your life.
5 weeks vacation..awesome
it's normal in many parts of europe. here in australia we get 4 weeks. the US is terrible!
You go girl!
So touching to see that you’re thriving here
Bienvenue en France 🇫🇷
Man! Shout out to her for having a plan and taking the leap. When things had a bad start the first time, she readjusted, knew what to do the next and time and executed. She also found her happy place.
Many stories of people leaving the US for a better life overseas. Good for them, I hope everything works out for her.
This is by far my favorite episode. Brava Valerie for chasing your dreams and goals and succeeding.
Good on her , she chased her dream and is happily building something chip by chip. its not the end of her journey . .
It's like a wealth of stress was lifted off of her. I am feeling this living here in the u. S all they want is worker bee slaves
Someone has to make rich people richer. Can’t believe she got away.
i interview a lot of people like her. the key was to make an anonymous show where people didnt feel like they had to project success. sure i talk to really successful people like a 4 time olympian in ep.12 but a lot of people are doing stuff they love in messy and beautiful ways, you just don't see them on shiny videos like this
Brilliant. In the U.S., if you want to live in a walkable city - that’s safe, beautiful, pleasant, creative - you will be paying very big price in NYC, Boston, LA, SF. The U.S. is just car based. Good for you girl!
It's common knowledge that most Americans are happier when they move abroad
4:50 , people in the US are always aghast when they find out that starting vacation time for the year in other parts of the world is 4-5 weeks minimum, and only increases the longer you stay at a job.
Do you know if that includes sick time, and if not, then how much sick time employees typically get/can take?
@@helenatube sick time is unlimited in Europe and is not counted into vacation days. If someone is sick they aren't slacking off or having fun, they are sick and deserve to get rested
@@helenatube You have unlimited sick leave, but after the 3rd sick day, you have to provide doctor's certificate verying that you're ill.
@sunnysunshine6271 in Italy for example you have to provide the doctor's note from the 1st sick day but at least you don't have to go to your doctor in person, usually they give you a medical certificate over the phone.
@@divx1001 Oh, how practical! In Germany that was only the case during Covid.
I love this! More normal people living their lives please!
Love this for her and she comes across as genuine and true to herself, go Valerie.
She looks so happy! I miss living abroad and understand missing family and friends. Hopefully she builds a community in France that she can count on.
Where did you live abroad
omg shes so cute!! i literally got chills watching this video...i've thought about going to culinary school too and its so cool to see her experience
This is incredibly inspiring. I’m also in a six figure role that is detrimental to my well being and am making plans to leave the grind in pursuit of goals that are more personally fulfilling. I wish her all the best!
She earns less than she would in the USA but living is cheaper where she is. She can live better than most Americans
Wish her all the best in France! it is such a great country and is much more than just Paris!
I love this for her. I look back and wished that I had took a leap of faith and did more of the things I loved to do. However, I'm trying to do that now and I'm loving it (not to the degree that I can move but I travel and just try to enjoy life). Good episode!
keep it up Valerie and hope tu passes une belle vie en France 🇫🇷
I ❤ that she is bold enough to follow her passion. You only have one life, live and stop complaining. 🥰🌈👏🏽🎉
This looks like true happiness
watching this makes me smile.. thank you for showing us the courage to chase after your dreams
My brother moved to France after working for google around 11 years. He love it in France.
Glad to hear her take a chance on herself! She’ll continue to do well. Wishing her the best ❤❤❤
She's so cute! Good for her that she's going after what makes her happy versus being stuck in the mundane.
there are lots of people like her. i interview them all the time for my show. it's kinda of an anti Millennial Money show in a way haha
Delightful video! Val is such a wonderful example of what you can accomplish if you follow your dreams in a strategic and realistic way, so well done! The pastry looks delicious!
FAVE Ep by far! Loved this
I hope this series continues to cover stories like these- Focused rather on passion despite potentially low margins. All the other stories felt so plastic. This feels beautiful and inspiring
Really beautiful blessings to you!! Usa is all work work not much rest i see it when I moved here .. no down time ..
Bravo!! Je suis si heureuse pour toi!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🥰🇫🇷
awww this was awesome! rooting for her and wish her all the best!
this is an example of money doesn’t make you happy. she was making more at google, but she is more happy with what she is doing now in france.
Aww. The south of France is one of my favorite places in world!
Love her story !
I like this part of CNBC Make It. It's more realistic and not filled with lies compared with other segments where the guest would lie about their salary and 'success'
Good for her!!! She made the right move : )
really enjoyed hearing her story and pursuit of new opportunities!
Love this for her!
I am so happy for her!! I want to move abroad. I am so tired of the hustle and bustle of living on the east coast .
❤❤❤❤ so happy for you 🎉
This is awesome!!!😎 She seems so happy 🎉
J’adore cette vidéo! Simplement Magnifique!!
This is such a beautiful, inspiring story!
Enjoy your life!!!!❤ her spirit🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
Excellent ! She looks happy and worked towards it.She is happier because he listened to what she internally was looking for, a quality of life and she bounced back. Many Blessings for her and a bright future, that is what we wish this lady!
Wow this really inspired me! She seems so relaxed and happy 💜
This is amazing!! :)
I am happy for you hun ❤
Amazing. I'm happy for you, Valerie ❤
I love that you are living your best life!! Love your hair too ❤🥳
I really enjoyed learning about her story. I wish her all the luck in the world, because she is chasing what sets her heart on fire
French here. 30000 USD = 27860€. /12 = 2320€ per month. I suppose it's after tax. To me it seems very high for a pastry assistant. Especially in the countryside.
Good question. I don’t wish that for her but I don’t think she had started paying real taxes just yet at the time of filming, if this was filmed after 1 year and a half including school time. If I’m correct she’s probably paying a lower tax rate based on her previous internship salary, and if so, tax will hurt her hard. 😢
@@itschristellis it still cheaper for her living in France compared to America though
@@crishnaholmes7730 oh for sure most things cost less. But you pay large taxes and earning potential is much lower including in big cities. So depends where you’re living in the US and how much you’re making.
@@itschristell ok
Very encouraging story!
This was very inspiring. Saving my coins to get outta here too
Love this video. Inspirational😍
Wishing Ms. Valarie continued success.💕💕
Absolutely loved this!
Beautiful story
Love this episode with Valerie!! So relatable
Wow!!! Nice story!!! Thanks for telling it to us 🙏🏾🙌🏾💯❤️
I’m here for it
Oooh I can't believe you find someone who live near to my place ! I would love to meet this amazing lady, I live near to Tournon, in Valence. It's a great place to live
i love this!!
This girl is living my dream! So inspiring ❤
💛😍 love this Val, so happy you made this choice. I can see how happy you are . Blessings Cuz, happy you are living out your dreams
Congrats! Enjoy this time in your life!
5 weeks of paid vacation every year... 5 weeks?!!
Amazing story! You go Valerie, be happy!!
Love this!
Thank you for sharing this! We live one life and best to risk it to be happy! Can’t put a price on mental health
She deserves it all!! Such an amazing person❤❤❤
I am so Happy for this Young Woman.
I applaud her for putting her Mental Health 1st!
I have been considering making such a move Abroad for a couple of years now, however, I cannot leave my Mom who is still recovering from her Stroke.
I know that MANY people here in the U.S. feel the same way that I do and have grown Tired & Weary ( of the Constant Grind, Inflation, Greed, Corruption and then some).
I love my Country, however, the Stress of Everyday Life can definitely take a Toll on your Body & Mind.
Once again, I send out Congrats to this Young Woman.
I am so happy for her. 😁
You'll save tons of money by learning french before getting here. You won't need to go to an english-speaking school. Tuition fee for a pastry degree to pass a CAP Pâtisserie is 6000 Euros max you just need to speak the language.
Great video. There was no time wasted talking about why she wanted to leave the US. Positive.
Keep learning the language and continue to explore.
❤
She’s learning a great skill!
Inspirational
I was just thinking about installing this again 🐱💞
Great video! Wish her the best.
Valerie Well done.x
So nice! All the best in France. Less is really more.
Congratulations 🎊 go forward and Encourage yourself even the more, because it's all about your happiness.
I love this for her!
I live in Canada and spending just $200 a month on food sounds like a dream ❤
NO WAY !!!!!!!! I DO LIVE in Tournon ! Valerie, lets connect !!!! And can't believe that one of my favorite show was there, oh my, thats so random 😂😂😂
She looks like 22 years old. So following your dreams makes you look younger 😊
Im so happy for her! There’s so much more in France than Paris!! Guys if you ever attempt to live in France avoid Paris and you’ll get a better life. She made the right choice. France has so much to offer but Americans tend to fantasize about Paris. Bravo Valerie. I live not too far from Tournon i’ll stop by someday.
My niece did a tour in high school around Europe, Paris was her least favorite place. Yeah I think us Americans glamorize Paris
I love this channel ❤️
