Oh F off, when you joined the road at a right angle that guy was clearly looking AT THE TRAFFIC, as he should, and couldn't have had any idea you were flying in off the pavement behind him. Your video shows some examples of very bad driving, but you're just as guilty sometimes. Calm down, and ride for the situation.
At 5:38 you come up to the road at a right angle. AT 5:40 you can clearly see the guy checking the traffic. There's no reason for him to look behind him for you coming at speed. The angle of the cycle lane and road is unusual so you have to expect this and SLOW DOWN and stay off the bell. Calm down, and ride for the situation.
This is a concise public bank of evidence for your own prosecution. 2:15 why did you jump the red light (failure to comply with traffic light signals)? Seconds later, why did you closely overtake another cyclist (careless cycling)? 3:06 why didn't you slow down instead of forcing your way through and endangering the pedestrians (careless cycling)? 3:37 closely overtaking between two cyclists (careless cycling). 4:14 this feels like endless painful viewing (careless cycling). 5:01 you bombed through even though traffic in the other lane has priority (careless cycling - without reasonable consideration for others). 5:12 failure to comply with traffic light signals. 5:38 careless cycling - your movements were quick and unpredictable for the pedestrian and so it's unreasonable to barge past. 6:03 I actually think this is dangerous cycling. It fell far below the standard of a competent and careful cyclist and is obviously dangerous.
Just came to TH-cam to console myself after running a red light I completely failed to spot (weird shaped crossing) and nearly getting hit. This video makes me want to slow down and be more careful, so well done.
3:13 pretty sure the pedestrians have right of way as both cyclists approached a zebra crossing. They really should have stopped. O wonder motorists think they're a menace
There's a common theme to this. Whenever you have options, you take the most aggressive, least defensive option. The Netherlands is often touted as cycling utopia. People in the Netherlands dont cycle like this. Its central London; ploughing on recklessly without thinking about all the different road users and how they all fit together isn't just insanity, it's not just putting yourself at risk, its putting others at risk. Your hazard perception appears ro be nil. 03:56 its a narrow road; of course the bus straddles the cycle lane. There's a bus stop, which the bus indicates for. 06:04 is the sort of thing that gives cyclists a bad name.
And no respect for pedestrians no need to zooming pass them like they are not there just because they should of not cross and walked in front I’m a cyclist and would never do that, it’s down right disrespectful
If a vehicle is indicating left in front of you it’s means don’t be an idiot I’m turning left and signalled well in advance to warn road users that I’m turning, so don’t try to undertake.
Your going to get yourself hurt. Part of being on the highway is understanding the dangers. If you had a motor on that thing it would be considered that you were driving dangerously most of the time.
What are you talking about? The drivers were the ones breaking the rules, the cyclist dealt with it and wasn't in a collision. He didn't cycle dangerously. Learn to drive.
@@miz4535 How about 6m4s, when he comes flying up the outside of stationary traffic with zero view of pedestrians to the left, and runs the amber light almost hitting several of them? That's just stupid cycling.
@@BenLovejoy True he didn't have to cycle so quickly passed the pedestrians. Going through amber is not illegal though. But I've definitely filtered on the outside of stationary traffic. It's just a safer position to be in.
In some of the clips you probably could have rode a bit more defensively. But I take my hat off to you for your patience. I drive a car but cycle to work to save petrol. I have no patience whatsoever for drivers who put my life at risk just to cut 30sec off their journey time. I normally catch up to them at the lights to give them a piece of my mind. I’ll try and take a leaf out of your book.
To me it seems like pedestrians are quite a big safety threat to cyclists. I think they should have segregated sections where pedestrians can walk on the sides of the road instead. They could even raise that area a few inches to provide additional protection. Then, they could implement a system where traffic lights also have 'pedestrian traffic lights' which stop the flow of traffic, and allow pedestrians to cross during safe designated times.
@@dessmith1387 Actually crossing the bike lane as a pedestrian is like crossing the roadway itself. If there is a pedestrian crossing you must use it to cross, and even if there is no crossing, it's as much your responsibility to look for oncoming traffic as it is the cyclist and car's responsibility to watch out for you. You also don't just walk into oncoming car traffic, why would you do so with a cycle lane?
For priority but not to obstruct the highway. Also deliberately stepping/running out with no forethought leaving others at threat of harm seems to be as big a problem from pedestrians as it is with motorists. Of course motorists can do more harm but peds simply ignore people on bikes and the law hasn't changed regards people on bikes being vulnerable to harm and crass/unthinking actions by pedestrians!
In a way, I agree, but the problem is that whenever you have to share roads with people driving as fast as a lot of them do in cars, the greater the speed difference between you as a cyclist and a car increases the risk of either not being spotted or getting seriously hit by one. So, as much as some people would like it to not be a competition, it unfortunately becomes that type of a situation when there's so much going on at the same time on a road that sees so much faster traffic along with cyclists.
2:30 A prime example of why cyclists are so despised, rather than holding back and waiting like the other cyclist or going round the other side of the van, he chooses to carry on cycling in a straight line as the van is turning. Selfish doesn’t even begin to describe some of them.
@@jdmfsdjs Yes I do, I also understand that not everyone’s perfect and people make mistakes, the van driver obviously didn’t see the cycle lane or cyclists on the inside lane… Wouldn’t the most sensible and safest thing to do in that situation be to hold back and allow the van driver to complete their turn.
@@alvina69 and how exactly would the driver complete the turn, when the car in front hasnt even completely left the bike lane yet by the time the cyclist gets there, and it is also forced to stop because a pedestrian walks by? how on earth is that sensible for the cyclist to wait, when he has to wait for the pedestrians to cross so the first car can leave, and only afterwards the van can pass, but wait, the van driver has to wait again, as there are more pedestrians crossing. safest thing to wait? obviously. sensible? absolutely not. you either do not understand, contrary to what you say, or you didnt watch the clip
From time to time I have to drive my 44t truck in Central London and I this seems to be how it is everyday...dog eat dog. Kudos to the the cycle rider...patients is strong in this one 😁
This is a funny video 😂😂 the amount of cyclists, drivers and pedestrians that dont respect traffic lights or pay attention of their surroundings is unbelievable!! I have to point out as well, your riding is a bit dangerous in some places!! 😤😤 Welcome to London 😋😋
Then when you ride at unabated speed into a deaf person , just wait for the lawsuit . If a pedestrian steps out , AVOID HITTING THEM , do not rebuke them with stupid noises .
I'm a cyclist and I'd say some of your clips don't reflect well on your cycling ability. You seem quite aggressive, almost as if you are deliberately trying to create a situation. You don't seem to make allowances for some car drivers who are simply trying to make their way in busy traffic. 24sec: The van driver is sticking to the road. You can see the central reseravtion on his right. It's your cycle path that has run out and you insisted on riding alongside the van rather than holding back. 1:18sec: The car on the right had been courtious enough to allow the other car to turn to his right. You failed to notice and nearly hit the car. It's not a good idea to simply ride along a cycle path and think that you can charge ahead wihout being considerate to others and being road aware. 1:25 Another example of a total lack of awareness and general courtesy by a cyclist. A car on the right had clearly held back to allow the vehicle on the left to join the lane, whilst the cylist just chose to charge along on the cycle path without showing the same level of kindness. 2:02: Same again. It was clear that the traffic had stopped to allow the vehicle on the left out, but you just wanted to make a point so you charged ahead, right up to the car then blamed him for pulling out. You totally saw the situation but you forced the issue, when you could gave just been polite about it and let the car out. He might have been waiting there for 5 mins already, but no, you weren't letting him out without cycling up to his door and calling him a 'wa&^*£r' 2:20: You're going through a red light. 2:30: The van is turning left, yet you charge up the cycle lane like you just want to make an issue. The cyclist in the blue shorts did what I would have done. He slowed right down to let the van though. But that's not how you like to operate is it? 2:45 Another one where you just don't want to allow drivers to turn into a side road, when it's clear that another driver has been kind enough to yeild. 3:20. I bet you liiked making an example of the police. But again, they were being let out by another vehicle, which you just refused to acknowlege. It seems to be a recurring tactic. 3:43: What on earth are you doing riding between two other cyclists on the cycle lane, putting both of them at risk like that. So dangerous to split them in that way, you literally forced one out of the cycle lane, just so that you could almost crash into the van, so you could add it to your TH-cam channel. 3:53: Ok so the lorry was a little in your lane, but give the guy a break. It's a wide vehicle. So what do you do. You don't wait behind him. No. You ride on the path... Illegal. Then proceed to ride straight through the red light that the lorry was waiting at. 5:41. Give the guy a break. You come out of nowhere and you think the guy crossing the road is at fault. You have a duty to look out for other people and anticipate situation but you just look like someone who is out to create issues. I think you have anger issues.
I think you need more respect for pedestrians mate. I cant do what you do against pedestrians in a car. So why would you? Pedestrians come first. There most at risk of injury.. even if it is there fault. You (as the road user) should anticipate that they DONT know highway code and controll the situation. Basically.. chillout. Also.. what a bunch of pricks, why do some cycles not stop at lights?
Haha!! Great video!! I understand commuting can be frustrating for all modes of transport! We all make mistakes (Including me) I doubt the majority of people are out to harm you? Lets try to accept we are not perfect and rage gets us nowhere!
appreciate the camera work. I'd say a third of these are bad cycling. Bring the tribalism, but I cycle around Bank and there is no way you take william street with any speed. People just don't look. I know you are not doing anything wrong, but then if you know thats a hot spot for near misses then why take the risk?
@Lee Dale If a cyclist is riding straight and someone comes from left or wants to turn left into you, the CYCLIST has the right of way. Car drivers are sometimes just too lazy to look into their mirrors or just dont cate
@Lee Dale When caught they can be convicted of careless or dangerous cycling - it is high time the police used some of these videos to convict since so many cyclists love to create situations then inform on drivers who find themselves in conflicts created by said cyclists .
@@sesamtoast9431 WRONG ; if the left turning vehicle was always ahead of you , THEY have priority , not you . It is only wrong for a motor vehicle to overtake a cyclist and cut across in front . Overtaking through junctions in any circumstance is unwise , unsafe and CULPABLE if a collision results from it . The rules for emerging from side roads are the same for everyone . Cyclists travelling at inappropriate speeds in dense traffic can be convicted of careless cycling ( £1000 fine ) or Dangerous Cycling ( £2500 fine ) .
The biggest misconception is right of way at junctions, I always treat junctions as an obstacle course to be navigated with care, Assume other road users haven't a clue about right of way and treat junctions with caution especially in major cities
Junctions are not sign posted well enough, the lines painted on the road are ignored and car and van drivers are oblivious to their surroundings and cyclists in general.
Not a cyclist ,but apart from stupidity are some of the vehicles just jealous of cycle lanes. That said cyclist going through red lights should be chased and fined as with cars and their use of cycle lanes.
I always thought those cycling zones at traffic lights, and cycle lanes generally have increased both aggression and conflict on the roads - theoretically they are a good idea but it looks like they increase cyclist and vehicle road rage in reality.. They seem to work only where there is a kerb separating from the main road - like Elephant and Castle
they decrease fatalities significantly as while people get angry, they can see the cyclists. Many died because they were hidden behind vehicles and when traffic began moving, would be knocked under the wheels of other vehicles.
They only increase aggro and conflict when people ride like this. It's mental. From my previous commment: '2:15 why did you jump the red light (failure to comply with traffic light signals)? I think a lot of these near misses you would have avoided if you’d done a CBT/ motorbike license. Im a cyclist and a car driver but I can say for sure there are as many bad cyclists as drivers
Done my CBT, have car, motorbike, HGV and Pilots licence. Cycled all over the place, but London seems to be the worst to place you can cycle as a cyclist.
@@EuropeanTourat50 i find it funny when people forget cycles are often secondary. telling people you drive hgv's while cycling causes mini shorts in people logic.
Thing is, you don't cycle like you have any motor vehicle driving experience. Your cycling style is petulant and with out the consideration for other road users that you get whilst driving.
Black bars, brakes etc. Black instruments.... Black bike? Did you notice his black sleeves? Black clothes? In and out of shadows and he expects everyone to see him. Good luck with that.
@@tooleyheadbang4239 oh yes! There is that mindset that swerving instead of braking is how to do it "safely". When lowering speed tends to remove more serious outcomes altogether. When car drivers swerve about in heavy traffic it causes way more problems and eventually, injury and damage than slammed on brakes.
@@dealbreakerc can't have it both ways Colin. Bikes small. Vulnerable. But okay to make yourself all but invisible. Black cars are bigger usually follow lanes and vehicles in front without popping up in unexpected places and they're seldom able to hide.
Here in Germany you could face a fine on the spot for turning left with disregard to cyclists using the cycle paths, the same would be the for pedestrians crossing over pedestrian lights when they are on red, and it's the same for cyclists who don't respect the traffic lights when on red. The more everyone hates each other, the worse it will get.
Ah so many issues in this video... Your riding style around London is horrible. I couldn't care if you've cycled all around the world, but that is something else. 4:00 what's the issue? You're tailgating a bus that is approaching a bus stop, do you want him to stop in a lane of traffic to let you undertake him so he can go into his bus stop? Cop on. 2:00 the Audi clearly let the driver in the Jeep/SUV out and it was obvious that he/she was creeping out way before-hand. To me that would be an instant hazard to slow down and just wait. You rush into everything. 2:26 yes, the van was going to block the cycle lane, as to which part of the cycle is shared with vehicles as it has dashed lines, and before you complain about that, when a car is wanting to turn right in a two way traffic road, is it not allowed to come to a full stop and block all the traffic BEHIND them as they wait for oncoming traffic to pass? You were behind this indicating van, you should've stopped like the other cyclist there. [Edit - You're also heavily in the blind spot of this van, which should give you a bigger reason to stop] 3:48 you went up onto the pavement to go through a red light, illegal. Doesn't take a genius to grasp that. 6:09 and finally, maybe a late indication by the bus, but just before you continue cycling up the inside of this bus, you can see the indicator, and that was shown while you were fully behind the vehicle. And that is the first thing I noticed on that clip, so therefore, I clearly have more common sense and know where to be looking more than you do at some times. You continued to cycle up the buses inside even after this hazard? The best road users are ones that solve other peoples problems, not create them into bigger ones. You should really teach yourself a lesson, or maybe it'll be done for you at some stage if you keep cycling this way.
5:41 I am not sure about the rules in a England but in Sweden it is crystal clear that when you enter one street from another street or path or whatever you yield to anything that was on the road before you unless traffic lights or signs say otherwise. I would not have moved out of t way here. What are the rules in England?
The sound of the bell seems to be much more effective than electronic or siren type audible warnings. Perhaps it’s because pedestrians understand it instinctively.
Half the near misses were caused by the cyclist behaving like he owns the road or not being aware. The van for example converging left was clearly signaling left, it was a bear miss because the cyclist pushed forward. The police car reached the crossing first. The bus can and will stop anytime, stop tailgating it.
100% incorrect. Hand in your licence if you drive. The person cycling thinks that people should respect priorit rules? Shocker! It doesn't matter is the police car got there first. That's not how junctions work. The driver gives way to all traffic on the main road, including the cycle track. Since they blocked the cycle track they failed to give way. Signalling doesn't give you priority either. If you have to change lanes you give way to the traffic on the other lane, you don't just cross it. Not your priority. I will give you tailgating though. To claim it is the cyclist's fault because he didn't accept the selfish driving is laughable. Anyway, he did accept it because he mitigated the driver's actions and wasn't in a collision. Do you have eyes?
Barging through pedestrians crossing on yellow, illegal, mounting the pavement illegal. And quite a few others. If you want to post a video showing the problems that cyclist have don't include clips showing a cyclist being part of the problem. If not for that you would have had a powerful video showing the dangers that cyclists are exposed to. Weakens the argument
Pretty sure you missed the point about the video. BTW, what do you mean with mounting the pavement? Could be lost in the translation, but I cannot seem to understand what you wanna get at with this.
@@Gartneren1234 mounting the pavement, common phrase in the UK. Basically means riding on the pavement or in US speak the sidewalk. In general it's not permitted to ride on the pavement
@@nic_the_aged_woodworker Ah, now I see what you are getting at. I was confused for a bit there. It is not really something I can make an opinion on though, because in my country (Norway), cyclists are actually allowed, and even encouraged, to use the sidewalk and pavement. It has gotten to the point where a cyclist was fined last year because he was riding his bike on the road, and not on the sidewalk. The court had the opinion that he was unnecessarily hindering the buses, as he was riding in the bus lane, something that cyclists are allowed to by law. The court made the statement that he should instead have used the sidewalk. Its insane to put it mildly...
@@nic_the_aged_woodworker well it might not be legal but in this case I can definetly excuse it since the car did not make space and you could very well see that there was nothing on the pavement so... it might not be totally legal but I think in this case is alright.
It was not a flashing amber, the pedestrians started to cross when the lights were green and they had a red man. The pavement had a cycle path that bypassed the red light from what I could see.
Dude you need to check your ego. There werr multiple instances where you made the wrong call. You're on a bicycle challenging cars, only one way how that ends.

They are doing a debate about the rules of the road and whose responsibility it is to ensure the safety of cyclists and would love to include this clip. All I can say is this clip illustrates the total incompleteness of road planners. All over the country highways are badly designed. Perhaps when Local Authorities and individual planners become liable for accidents roads would be safer.

It does seem to me that cyclist see cycle lanes as some sort of super highway where everyone must get out their way and should be able to go full speed without anyone else stopping them. Cyclist also have to give consideration for other users as well otherwise it will be impossible for motor vehicles and cyclist to be on the same road. There is also a problem where part of the road is just turned into a cycle lane without changing the width of the road a it just means the road is too narrow for cars and bikes to be side by side

I cycle in central London and most often the biggest danger is other cyclists. So many delivery riders now, who have no idea how to use the road. In fact, I would say it is more and more cyclists who have never learnt how to drive and so have not developed road awareness is what is causing so many bike accidents these days. Who next? The Strava crowd, trying to beat their best times and so speed is the most important thing for them, not looking out for or caring about others. Then we have the Santander bikes, so many who ride them can hardly ride a bike at all and seem oblivious to what is going on around them. As for lane discipline................ Cyclists who have earphones in the entire time, it makes you much less aware of what is going on around you. I ride the CS3 a lot, along Embankment, the tourists who randomly step out in front of you. I'm not perfect, I make mistakes on my bike sometimes, but I try to be constantly aware of what is going on around me and anticipating problems before they happen. As long as you don't go up the inside of lorries and busses etc at turns or try to squeeze through a crazy narrow gap in the road when traffic is moving and you go with the flow while having your eyes and ears open, cycling in London is ok actually, I enjoy it.
Just as cyclists and motorcyclists have to treat drivers as if they were totally oblivious, if not completely blind. "Until proven otherwise, always assume they didn't see you."
@@M3ntalbug A fair point which I accept , but also consider the current fashion trend in cycling wear ie. black or slate grey which could be described as "tarmac camouflage". Hi Vis seems to be the way to go.

Cycling anywhere in UK is dangerous. Be the tight roads, the unlit rural country lanes, the sharp turns and blind corner spots which are everywhere, the gormless dumb drivers that get too close or cant judge distance. This is coming from someone that's been cycling all my life, daily for years. Been hit twice and had a billion close calls.
I used to drive delivery Vans and Lorries when I was younger. Always watched the left for bikes, kids, prams ect... So many drivers just ignore the left turn and watching for bike lines. The bikes lanes in London are badly designed as there is no warning and the give way notification is on the road and not a sign at eye level. I did write to transport of London about the lack of warnings to drivers about the presence of a cycle lane to drivers turning into lanes crossing the cycle lanes & they said **** off you moaning cyclist....
2:29 the van was clearly turning left before you arrived there and , due to the angle of approach the driver would have been completely unable to see you ; yet , instead of giving way , you barged on relentlessly - THIS is exactly why so many cyclists are killed when they ride into left turning vehicles . It is dangerous and stupid - you can see the vehicle clearly turning left ; he cannot see you - so YOU MUST STOP . Bad cycling . Oh and Red light jump seconds before , and right in front of the police . You do realise that any of those pedestrians crossing the cycle lane when you ride aggressively towards them are allowed to cross , just as they are allowed to cross the road , and can actually put their hand up and order you to stop . Now , blowing a pea whistle at people on crossings , that is sinking to a new low of aggression and rudeness ; just as bad as would be a car driver who sounded his own at crossing pedestrians , even with the lights against them . One of these times something will happen and that whistle will go down your throat - you aren't the royal protection group ( their whistles are built into their helmets and they blow through a tube which can't be swallowed ) . Again try to remember a DEAF PERSON WON"T HEAR YOUR BELLS < WHISTLES OR SHOUTS and when you ride into them IT WILL BE YOUR FAULT .
The problem is that the road markings are to give way to cyclists. In your view the cyclist is wrong as the driver has the right to ignore the rules of the road and ignore give way markings. Many Cyclists are killed due to drivers not paying attention/ or not knowing the rules of the road. If everyone obeyed the rules, were not so self centred the life of the commute would be a lot easier and happier. This is why I retired to southern spain...
That was in Leytonstone and there is not a red light for the cyclists as the cycle lane goes straight ahead as the traffic is turning right. The path mount was to join the cycle lane.

Why did you not stop at the zebra crossing at 3:12? Pedestrians were clearly waiting to cross, yet instead of stopping as the law requires, both you and the cyclist in front just plough straight across.
The last clip when the bus is turning left if the cyclist at stayed back instead being halfway down the bus he/she would have seen the indication of the bus, which is quite visible at the rear of the bus when it turned into the junction. I am also sure that in the highway there is a rule for both motorist and cyclists that's says if a pedestrian is crossing the pedestrian has the right of way, and road users should not harass pedestrian by riding or driving at them in an aggressive manner.
I don’t go into London but most of that would not encourage me to cycle in London. So a question was that a zebra crossing in the cycle lane? This is not a criticism just curious.
Either cyclist could have moved slightly and hit you because they didn't know you were pushing through. Mounting the pavement at that speed was bad. You're highlighting bad driving but showing it yourself.
It's Illegal to overtake on zig zags so If the traffic is stopped you have to stop with it. Pedestrians have a right to cross the road while the traffic is stopped and no one should be overtaking.

well, for a dutchman thats been cycling for 45 years i can honestly say that cycling in london scares the hell out of me.
😂😂😂
Weirdly, London drivers are actually the most aware of all UK drivers because of all of the possible dangers. Outside of London things get much worse.
Are you watching the same video 😂😂😂

Roads in London are extremely dangerous I have to admit that. Also I'd like to point out in few cases this cyclist is dangerous and silly himself...
Exactly he is not aware that overtaking cars on left when not on cycle lane side its an offence and number reason for cyclist to be killed
And no respect for pedestrians no need to zooming pass them like they are not there just because they should of not cross and walked in front

You're supposed to slow down for people crossing.
They don't expect to be mown down by some careless bitch on a bike.
@@dessmith1387 maybe they shold cross on greed for pedestrans?

==========
Law has changed. Pedestrians have priority.
Too be honest some cyclists need to relax more (for their safety). People make mistakes. Commuting shouldn't be a competition.

Imagine filming yourself committing offences. Tut tut
He might have been waiting there for 5 mins already, but no, you weren't letting him out without cycling up to his door and calling him a 'wa&^*£r'
2:20: You're going through a red light.

The biggest misconception is right of way at junctions, I always treat junctions as an obstacle course to be navigated with care,
Assume other road users haven't a clue about right of way and treat junctions with caution especially in major cities

[Edit - You're also heavily in the blind spot of this van, which should give you a bigger reason to stop]
3:48 you went up onto the pavement to go through a red light, illegal.
2:26 is wrong. Van's responsibility to yield. Solve other people's problems is right though.
5:41 I am not sure about the rules in a England but in Sweden it is crystal clear that when you enter one street from another street or path or whatever you yield to anything that was on the road before you unless traffic lights or signs say otherwise. The amount of road wasted as cycle lanes
In some of these videos I didn’t really see the accident or the near miss but in most of these videos I did
Half the near misses were caused by the cyclist behaving like he owns the road or not being aware. The van for example converging left was clearly signaling left, it was a bear miss because the cyclist pushed forward. The police car reached the crossing first. The bus can and will stop anytime, stop tailgating it.
Did someone say the opposite?

Bike v’s car/ van/ bus: unprotected rider (aside from a helmet) plus 12 Kg vehicle versus 1-2-3+ tons of metal.
Tbh i find cars fairly easy to deal with, you can predict their movements. It's the pedestrians walking all over the roads that are a nightmare
First I thought in Bucharest is awful for commuting, but now watching London I can say there is kind of Middle East style of car drivers against bicyclists.
Take care of you there, seriously!
@ Maybe Egypt lol
That's because there are more non-Brits in London now that Brits. Cam-Moron & his beloved EU are to thank for that...
I swear if I were 40 years younger (oh shit that many) and with my attitude I’d be riding a mountain bike and anyone who pulled out onto the cycle lane and stopped I’d be straight over there bonnet and no looking back. Over the years I’ve been a cyclist and motorcyclist and I understand you have to push to keep your space on the road. Everyone gets to die but only some of us get to live.
Drive into a stationary vehicle and you are at fault ; you might well go over the bonnet , and bury your face in the tarmac other side .
@@derekheeps1244 I’ve ridden and raced several classes including enduro, motocross and trials, maybe a ticket but never a face plant. Failure to yield or give way goes away if the offending vehicle can stop before impact. Try that one out and see.🤔
Good vision, anticipation and confident riding👍
Reminds me of some of my rides.
2:22-2:34
Cammer does 2 stupid actions in a row.
My old driving instructor said"treat every cyclist as you would a runaway horse ,and you wont go far wrong!".
Unforrtunately, far too many cyclists make runaway horses look tame and controlled.
If you cant see black or grey suggest you get your eyes checked!
The colour is irrelevant, people either look properly and act accordingly to the threat they pose to others, or they don't.
If colour was the problem then why are motors allowed to be dark colours?
Just like helmets, pushing onus on the vulnerable to do something and take focus away from those posing the harms, it has a deleterious effect on safety of the vulnerable
2:50 is in the other lane, of oncoming traffic and gets mad at the driver.
4:00 bus is preparing to pull into a bus stop, and he gets mad.. This man needs some chill pills.
6:02 he is in oncoming traffic AGAIN.. This man, doesnt know how to cycle I swear.
Annoying road lice I get the motorists and pedestrians get of the roads.
You should cut some slack to panel vans. They have huge blind spots.
@@EuropeanTourat50 And how many rules did you break in this video?
I carry a tennis ball for those cars who get too close and aren't paying attention.
Crossed a junction on a red light , mounted the kerb to avoid stopping at a red light, seems your part of the problem....
That was in Leytonstone and there is not a red light for the cyclists as the cycle lane goes straight ahead as the traffic is turning right.
The path mount was to join the cycle lane.
I agree and swearing and cursing at the bus driver because there was not enough room for him to squeeze down the inside and get squashed..He is a big part of the problem..He rides like he is ready to die.
since when does planting your foot on the kerb at a red light a problem?
@@steve00alt70 please reread your comment..........
@@EuropeanTourat50 there is no red light for cyclists what sort of comment is that there is a red light at the junction so stop im sure the 30 seconds it takes wont kill you but going through might.
You splitting the two cyclists, and the next one mounting the pavement at speed were both just as bad. Not so easy this safe traffic thing.
🤗🤗😍
Either cyclist could have moved slightly and hit you because they didn't know you were pushing through. Mounting the pavement at that speed was bad. You're highlighting bad driving but showing it yourself.
It's Illegal to overtake on zig zags so If the traffic is stopped you have to stop with it. Pedestrians have a right to cross the road while the traffic is stopped and no one should be overtaking.
Has anyone ever told these biker's that when using the road the same rules as vehicles apply to them to when on the road the high way code and watch out for people crossing not running red lights it all applys to you when on the road
You have the patience of a saint how are you so carm?
Big time cyclist in London here - dude it’s on you to keep yourself safe. You shouldn’t really be speeding in cycle lanes perfectly parallel with cars trying to turn left… but even if you’re technically in the right is that worth getting killed over?
You dont own the road. Road is for cars
Get a juiced bikes horn, small compact rechargeable horn, with sound like car
Take some advice in the nicest possible way, I think you would be safer on the Central Line the way you ride. It appears you have no awareness of the dangers around you. Do your motorcycle test, that would help you to stay safe.
Have motorcycle, hgv, tracked vehicle & pilots licence plus I do believe I had a cycle proficiency badge in the scouts. I would say I have been exposed to all forms of transport dangers.
It’s the awareness of drivers who don’t know about a cycle lane. Don’t look, over take a cyclist then turn left.
Of all the countries I have cycled in London must be the worst city of all...
I see we do practically the same commute through Leytonstone, Stratford, Bow, Whitechapel, etc. I feel your pain - that was like looking through a window into my own brain...
Luckily I don't have to do that rat run anymore. Moved to Spain to relax in the Sun. Cycling here is like the lifestyle here, a lot more relaxed...
Be careful on that ride, it was always away to keep your reactions at a peak...
My main comment about this cyclist, he is not covering his brakes.
He has to waste precious seconds moving his fingers each time he needs to brake.
Ive been recommended a few of these videos now and they remind me why I never ever use the cycle lane. So many accidents would be prevented if these "cycle lanes" simply didnt exist. Cycle infrastructure needs to be done properly or not at all, no more of this blue paint nonsense
The pedestrians are like ants with no queen!
