I discovered you 2-3 days ago and I can say that I really resonate with your style of music. I really appreciate that your mixes are based on simplicity, but yet have a captivating energy. Would love to see you evolve as an artist in the future. Cheers, mate!
@@МартинСтоев-д4м Thank you! I appreciate your feedback and support. It is my intent to respect the producer when it comes to playing their music. My role as a DJ is to discover the disparate creative voices and connect their artistic commonality without overcomplicating it in a mix by unnecessarily stacking frequencies on all channels, slamming faders, and egregiously twisting knobs all for the sake of validation. I believe that my experience has made me appreciate simplicity and embrace the beauty of it, giving me a better understanding of how to pursue my art with integrity, intent, and purpose.
@@kuryenteproducer Hey I love your videos. As a beginner learning Traktor, I'd love to see a video series showing the progression from basic to advanced setups. Start by demonstrating mixing with just an X1 and Z1 controller, while explaining what limitations you encounter compared to larger setups. This would help beginners understand how to build up to and effectively use more complex configurations. Its just an idea but you cleary seem like a very knowledgble person so it would be really cool to learn all your skills.
Fantastic stuff, I’m really enjoying your sets. I’ve recently replaced my 25 year old Pioneer with a XONE 96 and love it. I’m starting to mix vinyl and digital together and having loads of fun with it. Your videos have inspired me to have a go at recording my own sets!
@@mattster303 Thanks for watching! I appreciate it 🙏 The MK3’s are a big improvement but I find the encoders tend to be slippy more than the MK2. Also, I’ve been using it standalone as an Ableton controller and it’s much more fluid as a performance tool than the A&H K2’s. Solid design and build overall.
Loving this, very Nice indeed, fair play so wish I had your knowledge of how to manipulate the hardware 😊 May I ask, when the video takes a look from the side I can see a pair of screens that appear to show a wav file in blue but when the view changes to looking from above or the front don’t see them, what are they please? Do you do tutorials at all as I’m an ageing dj who is trying to make the transition into producing but finding it a little difficult with the technology of it all. Thanks for the music 😊
@@ynotuk2 Thanks for watching! I appreciate the comment and feedback 🙏 The “screen” that you see is a screen recording of the computer that I use to launch and operate Traktor and Ableton with. I render that recording, then scale and re-position it into the wide shot of the edit to make it seem like a physical monitor. As for tech tutorials, I may explore that type of content in the future as this channel grows. Stay tuned!
@@kuryenteproducer thank you , I will indeed stay tuned, will eagerly await your transition into tutorials as I have a lot of questions, I only say this as I love what you’re doing and would love to understand how you do it, I have some knowledge but need to know more. Once again thanks 😊
Thanks for watching! RMX1000 has its uses and is an excellent piece of kit, depending on the mixing style and genre. The H9 is a solid pedal and has some great tools for textural and granular type effects that can serve as layers in the mix. I typically use the Source Audio Nemesis and Ventris pedals for delay and reverb. For software FX routed in Ableton, I use Valhalla reverb and delay.
Thanks for watching! I’ve considered a Neve Master Bus Compressor to pair with the XONE:96 or something comparable. It might seem excessive but keeping it analog definitely makes a difference because I hear it on the Model 1 recordings. At the moment, I record mixes into a Sound Devices MixPre 3 II and then bring a stereo mix into Cubase to process into mastering chain.
@@kuryenteproducer Thanks for the detailed info, I was more interested in a new Ozone Maximizer (Traktor Pro 4) experience with Xone 96? (I see boost is turned on in the Traktor so wanted to check that out :))
@@lumar_music I use the "transparent" limiter in Traktor. The Ozone limiter is great for live situations, specifically running hardware into Traktor, and I hear it giving a mix subtle saturation. But I lean toward the transparent setting for in studio work since it provides less color and more dynamics, which is useful especially when I bring a stereo mix into a DAW for mastering.

@@guilhermemourao9610 MIDI assignments on Traktor is easy enough. There are many tutorials that give you a basic understanding of it. If you slave the TR-6 via USB MIDI, then the process will be much easier to sync
Great set! I'm curious about your method for syncing Traktor with your TR8-S. I have a somewhat similar setup (Xone PX5, 2x X1 Mk2, and the TR8-S), but I'm struggling to maintain perfect sync with my TR8-S. I'd really appreciate any tips on how you manage to keep the TR8-S tightly synced during an hour long set.
@@thijsdebruin9745 Thanks for watching! I appreciate it. As for maintaining sync across devices, I use a Blokas MIDI Hub. It’s a great box, highly programmable, and keeps sync tidy. @markcarranceja6568 I will definitely put something up I still have to learn a lot to play like you. Can you tell me how you do tractor routing to ableton
@@IceDrinksLabel3907 You can’t “route” audio Traktor into Ableton without an audio interface. I use the XONE:96’s audio interface and select specific channels from Traktor and route them on to channels 1-4 on the mixer, and then I route sends A&B to Ableton to process FX and return to A&B.
Insane mix and setup! I noticed you are using software effects for the send/return, how do you account for the latency (if any) compared to hardware effects? Thanks for putting up the best mixes on the 96 on youtube!
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it. And that's a great question! I use a Mac Mini M2 Pro, which has enough processing power to set latency to the minimum, which is 32 samples on Ableton and 64 (maybe 32) on Traktor. I also use hardware FX on the Model 1 and the 96.
Thanks for watching!
