Waaaay better than watching some no talent dj on boilerroom. The camera angle changes, the mix, the entire presentation is awesome. Keep these coming.
I appreciate that. Definitely more sets to come. Thanks for watching!
Absolute fire 🔥 🔥🔥
Thanks for watching, bro! I appreciate you
Fantastic set up and mix. Big investment I'm sure, but you handle everything fluidly. Really smooth and energetic pace. Subscribed.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the sub! Being able to express my creativity on decks in a different way is worth the investment towards my art. Sharing my experience with others is all part of the process, so thanks again for taking the time to watch and providing feedback.

This set is amazing. the song selection is peak!!! what genre of techno is it? trying to build up my song library with more of this kind of techno
@@mcsteeezy9822 Thanks for watching! The genre that you are looking for, if it is under Beatport, they would be categorized as Raw/Hypnotic or Peak Time/Driving. The tracks use for this mix are selections curated from those genres. I have added ID’s for each track in the description to make helpful for others to find.

Awesome mix, thanks for posting! Using a pair of X1s must be light years easier than going through all the grind of setting up K2s 😇 Just turn on and go.
@@bikesbeersbeats Thanks for watching!
The encoders on X1 MK3’s are very slippy, so I constantly have to look down to confirm I have the correct beat length selected. The MK2’s have a firm click on the encoders and I could always trust that I have the right length beat looping. I have the Xone K2’s and the new templates for Traktor Pro 3 are much more logical than some of the user made ones in the past, so I might go back to that. Overall, I spend less time on the controllers and more on the mixer, so I need an option that’s less fussy.
@@kuryenteproducer do you mean the A&H k2 mappings for traktor? If so I havent tried those. I used mappings from Chris Liebing and modified them slightly but it was a steep learning curve as there are some settings that no longer worked in TP3 and you had to make some edits. Took forever to uncover that.
@@bikesbeersbeats Yes, A&H has a map that works for TP3. It’s on the K2 webpage under documents. It’s very functional and almost mirrors the X1 MK3.
@@kuryenteproducer oh man just tried a sesh with the a&h mappings, much clearer to use. thanks for tip.

Great mix man. Sounds incredible. I love this setup. I have very similar but with a DB4 and dual K2s. The Play Differentlys are so appealing though! You ever use your TR-8 with Traktor? Always fun throwing that in.
Thanks for watching!
DB4’s are awesome. It’s such a playground of ideas. I use the TR-8S often for sets. I’ll definitely add it in for the next session and show how it gets thrown into the mix.
@@kuryenteproducer awesome. I’ll make sure I subscribe and will look out for that TR8S is awesome too. I switched mine for the original TR8 as just prefer the more simple controls and no menus. Roland drums just cut through nicely with anything. I love your filming setup here too. Really inspired to try something like that at some point.
sarap!

Do you ever miss the jogwheels? I love this style of mixing and creating a set so seemlessly but still like to DJ traditionally mixing in and out of songs so not sure about ditching the jog wheels
@@howva I started on vinyl, so mixing on decks will always be part of my process. I believe all DJ’s should start with deck mixing since it has much more of an immediacy, improvisation, and fluidity that is different from what I’m doing on the Model 1. My mixing process forces you to (pardon the pun) play differently and with a producers mindset, but rely on the intuitive reflexes and technical skills that good DJ’s develop with experience. Versatility is key, and expanding your creative language as a DJ is paramount to your originality and longevity.
@@kuryenteproducer thanks for sharing! Im still new to it and this style appeals to me but djing is just so fun to do. Do you ever make your own sounds or are you using samples?
@@howva I occasionally work on live sets using hardware, but it’s a lengthy and daunting process.
Love the model 1! How are you attaching your screen onto the mixer
Thanks for watching! That is actually a screen recording which I added in post
@@kuryenteproducerhaha nice
What is the name of that screen on top of the Model1?
Really cool mix
@@seraphieldj That’s a screen capture of the Mac which was overlayed in post
how are going from computer to model? 1/4 to rca? or dsub. great stuff btw
Thanks for watching!
I use an Antelope Orion 32+ Gen 3 as an audio interface and use all three DSUBS from the Model 1 to route I/O to and from Traktor for decks and Abelton for secondary FX sends via CUE B. I have external FX pedals (reverb and delay) routed through the send and return. When I don't use that config, I use Ableton, specifically Valhalla reverb and delay.
Hey! Great mix!
I see You are using channels up to 0 db. How master filter react to this level of input? Are there no issues with the master filter activation only at the higher level of sound input?
Thanks for watching!
No issues with the master filter. I stage gain starting from Traktor and keep outputs at either -6 or -9db. This gives me more headroom to work in the analog FX pedals or FX sends from Ableton via send/return, and have those sounds ride the mix and not drown everything out and drive the master level to peak, especially if I’m mixing three of more channels simultaneously.
I spent a lot of time getting these settings right, in both a studio and club environment. From experience, all I have to do is gain up on the master and I still have ample headroom on channels and send/returns, if needed, without destroying the PA system 😂
@@kuryenteproducer Thanks for the answer!!!
@@isotoxin Any time!
Hey @isotoxin, What kind of issues do you have with the master filter? I've never experienced this.
@kuryenteproducer great mix man! I miss understanding the logic. After all, you boost again the signal from the trim, correct? So what's the difference?
ipad or laptop?
@@DannyDamsterdam That’s a screen recording captured from a Mac and overlayed into the shot via After Effects
smooth ride! not sure how these work but is there no need for a controller to beatmatch and all that?
@@Daniel-fi9nb Thanks for watching 🙏
The Traktor X1 MK3’s (the two units on the right) are deck controllers. I use them mostly for cueing up tracks, looping, and beat matching. I’m on the Model 1 most of the time mixing and layering FX.
@@kuryenteproducer wow this is impressive, never seen setups like that before!
Excellent mix bro!! This techno is energetic, what PC is that?
Thanks for watching 🙏
For DJ sets, I use a base model Mac Mini M2 Pro with only Traktor and Ableton installed. Keep it simple, plug and play. Nothing fancy.
@@kuryenteproducer8gb ram or 16gb?
@@kuryenteproducer 8 gb or 16 gb of ram?
@@SameMan020 16GB
@@kuryenteproducer Can you tell me how much ram use traktor and ableton together? Im planing to switch to mac because windows from this year sucks
could i run ableton as well as traktor through model 1 like i can the 4d awesome mix btw
@@kineticstringwell844 Yes, you can, but you’ll need an audio interface that supports the I/O of the Model 1 either via DSUB cables or RCA to 1/4”
If you need more user info, there is a FB group dedicated to Model 1 users that I created and there are many members who can recommend the right interface for you.
@@kuryenteproducer thats awesome i love the 4d but its too big too carry around and itsd best for studio mixing . the play differently has had my intrest for a while
@@kineticstringwell844 I no longer bring out the Model 1 for live gigs because the hassle of set up and transport, especially with the Antelope Orion 32+. It’s too much of a risk to have both mixer and interface to have it out of the studio.
I started using the 1.4 for hybrid sets with a RME Fireface UC MK1 plus a Focusrite Octopre, but am I leaning more on the Xone 96 for future use since I can replicate the routing matrix that I have for the Model mixers without having to add an interface and mic pre for ADAT expansion.
For me, it’s all about streamlining gear down to 2 rolling cases and a backpack.
Why its cheat code because of filters?
@@jovantrendmaker4722 It all depends on the individual use case. In the right hands, the M1/1.4 is a versatile instrument more so than a standard DJ mixer/controller can ever be. The filters and EQ system is more nuanced and tighter, and with a little practice, it can shape and sculpt mixes that is unique to your style and genre. Is it practical? Hell no, but if you’re a DJ looking to develop their own creative language through mixing and original productions, this mixer can be an integral part to that process both in the club or in the studio.
больше 10к$ сетап вышел?
*setup costs more than 10k$?
The first rule of being a Techno artist is we do not talk about how expensive our gear is. The second rule of being a Techno artist is we do not talk about how expensive our gear is.
