This video sheds some light on why people are afraid to test for HIV. It's more than the obvious fear of ending up with a positive result. I hope this video helps put some of their fears in perspective.

Hey guys getting tested early can save you from going through a lot of pain and depression.Take it from me coz I lived for so many years thinking and believing without doubt that I had Hiv but I was wrong because when I got the test done the result came back negative. For so many years I was depressed and extremely sad and I even thought of ending my own life without getting the test done and finding out the truth and looking back I can see how stupid I had been. So guys please don't make the same mistake I made. Please get tested early and find out whether you have it or not. Don't live life thinking that you have hiv when you don't have it. Trust in God guys. Stay safe.

I really think we should address how depression and substance use plays into this. If you are feeling hopeless, you may put yourself at risk and unintentionally risk other people's health. If you start caring about yourself, then you can care for others too!

The home test kit is a great option if you're at all worried about talking with someone about HIV. Costs a bit but it's good piece of mind. You get a number to call for the results. If it's negative it's a prerecorded message. If it's positive, you talk with an actual person to help you cope with the news.

The kingdom of GOD is near, we need to repent and believe in Jesus Christ, so that our sins can be forgiven, and we can have eternal life.
If we don't believe in Jesus, we will die in our own sins.
Lying, Stealing, murders, evil heart, revellings, hatred, emulations, arrogant, strife, Envyings, commit adultery, seditions, bad words, porn, didn't honour father and mother, worship idol, homosexual, fortune teller, black magic, blasphemed GOD, claiming self to be GOD, calling a man as GOD, worship things made of gold, silver, wood, stone or other materials, worship animal as GOD, against GOD, did not want to repent and believe in JESUS, take the name of GOD/JESUS in vain and other evils things, these all are sins. If we did 1 of these things before, it makes us sinner. If we continue to do these things or sinning, we will die in our own sins.We need to repent through Jesus, to make our relationship with GOD good again, because There will be a judgement day 1 day,The people who believe in Jesus Christ and follow his commands will enter the kingdom of GOD, but the people who don't believe in Jesus and done evil/bad things/sinners will enter Hell.
Only Jesus can give you joy, real peace, only Jesus can forgive your sins, only Jesus can lead you to be a righteous man.
No other name except JESUS can save your soul and lead you to heaven.
This is about our eternal life and eternal death, so believe in Jesus and repent(Confess to GOD that we're sinner, stop sinning and follow Jesus teaching), to save our own soul and life.
Repent, and be baptized every one of us in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and we shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit/Ghost will guide us on how to become a righteous man, live and work according to GOD's will.
      Lord Jesus said:
luke6: 37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
You can read BIBLE online by searching it on google, you can start read from the book of JOHN. You can learn Jesus teaching from there.
If you have any stress, problem in your life, you can pray to Jesus and ask for his help, Jesus will listen to your prayer.
GOD is our Father, He is the ONE who made us and everything in this world. It's time for us to return to Him and acknowledge Him as our Father through Jesus Christ. Wake up people, return to your only ONE Almighty GOD and Father.

HIV can be a scary thing, it depends on who you are and how you take the infection as. I’m in college and in my first year I was doing risky things, giving oral to people I didn’t know. I was constantly sick during that year because of disgusting dorms and I’ve had many symptoms that could have been related to HIV. I never worried about HIV because I was someone who did low-risk behavior, but like I told myself anything is possible. I’m in a relationship and as we talked about our past sexual encounters, I developed severe hiv anxiety even to this day. It sucks because it’s so draining. People has always made hiv as this very bad infection that will lead you to death; which is true if left unknown/untreated. Yeah it sucks to have it sometimes but at the end of the day you’re still alive and all you have to do is take a pill a day. Okay besides that, I developed really bad anxiety about having hiv. I was so worried that I could have had it and gave it to my partner because I had never tested for anything. I was looking back at all the symptoms I had my first year and it had matched a lot of symptoms related to HIV. I was so worried I could barely eat nor sleep. I’ve always had chronic anxiety and I am hypochondriac, which is HELL when it comes to going to the doctors, getting tested for literally anything. I was going from looking at memories on how my body looked, to old messages talking about how I felt, and finally GOOGLING. Which honestly google made me worse, don’t recommend. Although I was so afraid of getting tested, I picked up the courage to do so, for my health, future, and my partner. I got test for EVERYTHING, and everything came back negative except the fact I had a yeast infection; blame that on scented soap lol. But yeah that’s basically my story. Am I still worried about it? I TRY not to but I still do here and there, asking myself should I get another test just in has?? Relating my NOW symptoms to HIV. Looking back I do sound manic, and honestly I still do because I still having this life drenching anxiety. It sucks because I want to stop worrying but my body thrives on the constant thoughts and stress. I assume my guilt of doing these acts my first year is the root to my anxiety. Being irresponsible, and just blaming myself for getting it, even though I don’t. I hope everyone who is worried out there, you should get TESTED, it’s a scary process but it’s better to know soon than later, ya know. Anyways I hope you have a good day and like I said before GET TESTED, you’re fine.

  • @ferbaz6766
    @ferbaz6766 4 ปีที่แล้ว +39

To those afraid of testing, that is the best thing you can do.
First of all, symptoms don't neccesarily mean anything. In fact, I had an hiv scare because I had multiple symptoms that are supposed to be from hiv (oral thrust, diahrrea, swollen lymph nodes). I was scared to test but I finally did, past beyond the window period (one year and half). I couldn't believe it. I tested three time and they all came back negative. The reason is probably because I had a really bad life style (no exercise, heavy smoking, bad diet). So don't always assume it's hiv.
Second of all, wether you get tested or not, in case you had the virus, its gonna be there still. The earlier you treat it, the longer and healthier your life will be. It might seem hard, but testing is a must.

You can't get tested too early because your results won't be accurate.
I read it takes about 3 weeks (after exposure) for HIV antibodies to be detected by an antigen test. So you'll have to wait that long at least. After 3 weeks you get tested and it comes back negative that should give you a little relief. But you have to get tested again after 3 months just to make sure. After 3 months if it comes back negative it is almost certain You are in the clear.

@@yahawahchosenone6712 My wife and I have been positive for years. We have plenty of sex and very few people have side effects from ARV meds. It's about as challenging as taking a multivitamin once per day. I only pay the small copay on my meds so I don't even notice how much that is, but it depends on your insurance. On the meds people have a normal life expectancy but it is better to start them sooner rather than later. Having HIV isn't the end of the world and being scared of the test makes no sense. Just find out. Last thing you want to do is to have to make the phone call telling someone else you may have given them HIV. If you want kids, having HIV doesn't preclude that. Techniques exist to make that happen. The more you know, the less scary it all seems.

My friend was too scared to get tested.
For months his inner circle told him to be brave to face his fear/destiny. Finally he found the courage. He convinced himself that he would live through this . That there was life after getting tested. So he went to the clinic and got tested. They told him it would take 2-3 weeks for results. Well he stepped out into the street and was hit by a bus. Died instantly.
