I seen this video come up so I stopped everything to watch my favorite Guy Skimpy. The big reason I have as many molds as I do. Just moved and now have a special room just for bait making.
That looks cool. I'm trying to decide which Do-It molds to get next and this may be one of them. I like the flexibility of making the swim jig and being able to make chatterbait style rigs. What size/type of blades do you recommend to make a chatterbait style? Thanks for all your help.
Glad you are back in the video bidness! This is a good video but would have preferred to have you narrate it the way you did the older ones. Will the 3/8 & 1/2 tolerate a 5/0 hook? Have you tried using a 30 degree jig hook with an annealed eye and not using the insert? The eye bends open and closed easily after the annealing. I had a hell of a time trying to use the poison tail mold with the wire inset and a 5/0 straight hook, so I am trying to avoid the insert. Thanks for any advise or suggestions. Keep up the good work!
I haven't tried opening the hook for awhile. Too many of them break while opening. I know shorter videos but alot of people like the shorter videos. I have used the 5/0 hooks that are recommended for this mold. The problem with the 3/8 is it kinda hangs off so gotta be careful closing the mold
To be honest I like them both. I know that's dodging the answer, but I really do like them both. The poisontail is amazing don't get me wrong but so is the Hybrid grass jig
Hey Skimpy, I was looking for that hybrid grass mold on do it molds and actually don't see it. I was going to ask you, I did see a pro jig mold that comes in 3/8,1/4,1/2. Do you think that is a good mold?

The blades I got I ordered off ebay. They come pre bent at the tip. I buy like 100 at a time and they last a long time
Where do you get your chatterbait blades from. Thank you.
Ebay !!!!
i was thinking of doing a spinner or buzz with this mold
Would def make good ones. I haven't yet
Those look awesome. I need some of those. Jigs and chatter bait. Lol. Oh yeah and that magnum ned and some trailers. Lol. Great video.

Thanks bro
Was eagerly awaiting this one! Looks awesome!!
🤜🏽🤛🏽 thanks brother
you ever have a problem with the eye opening up? Thats a great looking chatterbait!
No I haven't
Sick, I like the soft plastic bait keepers on those. I'd imagine they hold your soft plastic on better then a lot i have used.
Yeah they hold on there awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
Del, another nice vid. Having poured some of those heads, I really like the versatility of that mold: dragging, flipping, swimming and bladed. 🤜🤛
Thanks brother
Nice work bud!

I always use a 4/0 straight hook when making Chatterbaits
Is it possible to turn the insert over , seems would be stronger that way , haven't bought the mold yet , thats why asking
You have done a similar video using the poison tail mold to make a similar chatterbait. Do you have any preference on one or the other?
