    I get instability error after assinging tension only elements. Any idea why?

    I USE ETABS 2017 IN LINERA STATIC CASE BRACING SHOW ONLY TENSION FORCE ?? NO NEED TO NON LINEAR WHY ???

      You can do nonlinear analysis for a more accurate response.

      It depends on the direction of loading.

      @@CivilSoftwareTutorials, In pushover analysis the loading pattern is defined earlier so you know the direction of loading but in dynamic time history analysis, it is difficult, So for time history analysis, you should assign two struts with zero tension capacity.
