Thanks, it's just something I'm playing around with. I enjoy putting the pedalboards together and messing around with cameras shooting the b-roll. Glad you like it and thanks for commenting.
Man I must say you are now one of my current favorite musicians who reviews gear on TH-cam. I’ve been here since 2006 so I’ve been around for awhile, seen many come and go. As a fellow musician who has a few gear demos who needs to get back into it, you inspire me. It takes a lot to impress me.
The best produced YT vid I've seen in a long time. And without saying one word, you communicated excellently how each effect and board can be used. Well done!
Bravo Michael, well done! How to demo a dozen pedals with three guitars in six and a half minutes! Simple, creative, and to the point without all the talk! Thanks and Cheers!
You need to get your ears checked cause that MXR and the jimi hendrix fuzz pedals didn't activate their famous vintage sounds. You can't get them to work by themselves. They only work in brand exclusive SETs.
Its wrong information. There was NO 1960's fuzz sound from that JH pedal. There was NO famous vintage sound from that MXR pedal. When are YOU going to wake-up?
This is the first video I've see of yours and thought it was brilliant. I loved how you added and took away pedals from the board as you were changing effects, I've not seen that before and works REALLY well. Thanks!
Hey thanks! This one's a bit of an experiment, I just enjoy putting pedalboards together and thought it might be a nice way to demo some classic pedals. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the kind comments!
MXR requires multiple pedals to activate the famous vintage sound. They can't activate the famous vintage sound by themselves. Jimi hendrix pedals can't activate the famous sound by themselves as well. They're NOT general purpose designs. You're crazy.
Hi Michael, your video is AWESOME, it gave me a lot of inspiration to build an effect chain, so all the pedals involved are now famous, and through your video I can also learn about the sounds and settings of those pedals, thank you so much for your sharing. Of course, your guitar skills are also excellent, thanks.
Great video as always! This demonstrates perfectly why, most of the time, I prefer using combinations of overdrive and distortion pedals to my amp distortion (OR15 which I love the sounds of BTW). It's just so versatile for gain staging and exploring sounds.
Wrong. The jimi hendrix fuzz pedal won't activate the fuzz sound without 3 other pedals from the JH brand. You've got hearing problems. There was NO 1960's fuzz sound in this wrong information video. 1 MXR pedal cannot activate the famous vintage sound. JH pedals MUST be in a set before they'll activate the sound.
thanks for another wonderful video. I like the way you keep things clear. Always makes me want to run and grab my guitar and start experimenting with sounds
That's great to hear thanks! This is just a video format I wanted to experiment with a bit and try to get a bit better at using my camera. If there's appetite for it I might try a few more like this, they're good to do when I have a cold and don't feel up to being on camera. Thanks for commenting!
Hi Guys n Dolls: for the BluesBreaker Enthusiasts: you can get a quite similar sound : Tomsline Bluesy > Nobels ODR-1! the Bluesy( still got it, sold the Nobels) is great by itself: with the ODR-1 the tone gets the bass! I know the Bluesbreaker pedals are hard to find, so thats why yhe info...( the Bluesy is like 30€, the mini ODR-1 like 80€...)😎
I so need a Bluesbreaker pedal.. I have a Boss BD2 that is nice but can always use an other pedal haha 😄 We are like the stereo type put on woman and shoes with pedals 🤣
This is wrong information video. Its electrically impossible to get jimi hendrix pedals to work outside the SET of JH pedals. That fuzz pedal can't make a fuzz sound by itself.
Yeah you can have them either way round, trem after reverb is great for choppy modern sounds. I found reverb after trem gave a more vintage sound like the sound of trem and reverb in vintage amps.
You're not allowed to do this. MXR IS a professional SET and they can't activate the famous vintage sound by itself. The jimi hendrix pedal is worse than MXR's little exclusive electrical trick, cause it doesn't work outside the SET of JH pedals. It contains an exclusive electrical trick which requires 4 exclusive pedals. None of those pedals will work by themselves. Its such a exclusive trick, if you're missing 1 out of the SET, none of them work. So you'll have to swap out that exclusive JH pedal for a general purpose dunlop pedal BUT don't forget the dunlop general purpose fuzz pedal REQUIRES the dunlop rotovibe pedal at the end. If you don't use the rotovibe pedal, the fuzz won't activate. One day you'll wake-up and realize you're not allowed to put MXR and dunlop with other brands products. Electrically they're exclusive pedals. You yourself played the jimi hendrix pedal and THERE WAS NO Fuzz Sound. No recognizable 1960's fuzz sound.
I love the way you add in the pedals with the audio. Clever way to do it.
Thanks, it's just something I'm playing around with. I enjoy putting the pedalboards together and messing around with cameras shooting the b-roll. Glad you like it and thanks for commenting.
Underrated, very cool
I agree - it really works well.
Do more of these. This is a great format

Totally agree! Very inspiration playing.

Tou covered lots of classic pedals and tones! Nice Work!
What a brilliant and cleverly made video. Love how you explore different and iconic tonal options. Great fun!

Great video! I love the second board featured.
How this was shot was so cool
This was so good. The editing is amazing. Extremely well produced!
Great video 🎸👍💪

One of the best videos I’ve ever seen, period!
Really nice video! A great way to show the versatility of guitar rigs!
Hey, thanks. Glad you liked it!
Very cool and very well done video! Thank you for putting it together.
Brilliant little video ...
Great video as always!

Great video!!! I'll take #1. I have a board very similar.
Very Nice!!!
I really enjoy this series! Can we have another rounds?
I liked the second board holy fuck that final board was nuts.
Trem after reverb!
Yeah you can have them either way round, trem after reverb is great for choppy modern sounds. I found reverb after trem gave a more vintage sound like the sound of trem and reverb in vintage amps.
Hi Michael, is there any reason why you would use the spring reverb over your amp reverb?
Or tremolo?
This is a really great video, but it’s going to be expensive for me. Would an hex stomp get you most of the way there?
Are you stacking the Tube Screamer into the Blues Breaker?
When you have a Super Reverb, why would you need a reverb pedal and a tremolo pedal? Just use the amp's footswitch.
can you pls post avid of just ur hands or u playing? i wanna learn this its sick
So SRV, Hendrix, and Clapton?
how did you come up with 3 blues rock pedal boards and not even use the boss bd2 blues driver!!? which I'm sure you have. haha
I know what a sin! Ah well, means I might have to do a few more and include the mighty blues driver this time. Thanks for commenting!
I just need an overdrive and a tuner
This is, Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Octavio, not MXR.
Well spotted! Yes I think I must have got mixed up with the current small box MXR Octavio reissue that they've done. Thanks for the correction!
Tuner? 😂😂
I'm not hearing the vintage blues rock.
