Thanks buddy, it's a great mark, I've never blanked down there, but likewise, it's never fished massively well for me. Just wanted to get down and have a go👍👍🎣
Yep I must admit that I have fished there many times to over the years , caught all the species like pout , wrasse, eels, rockling, crab lol but never anything decent. Quite annoying for a really good venue.
Hi Dylan ... Another very watchable video ... But at least you didn't blank ... It reminds me of the many nights of scratching around, I have done in pursuit of worthwhile 🐟🐟🐟 fish.
Just back from iow ,best fishing I've had in years,bass,bream,wrasse,smoothy,eels,pouting..... Surely you know what's been coming out from whale/blackgang since last week?opportunity to catch the best fish you can from the shore, lost one on wednesday ,didn't think I would need a wire trace, wasn't expecting it! Still cannot stop thinking about what I had on my line, gutted! GET DOWN THERE!!!!!!
Awesome mate, so glad you found some fish, and what great timing you had. Unfortunately I was away when it all kicked off, got back Monday and went down last night, wire traces in hand. Must have been 20/30 people down there, and the fishing was terrible😂😂. I'll have another go for sure. Cheers buddy👍👍🎣👍
It's lovely down there, but it is a mission. Not as bad as some places at the back of the island. We park right at the top of the steps so makes it a bit easier. I've heard of so many good fish coming from there, but in all honesty, I've never had anything I could call a good fish, but we keep trying 🤞🤞👍👍🎣
I like the episodes a lot as I fished the Isle of wight quite a bit, but it would be nice if they were always a bit longer. Just something to think about for future videos. Tight lines 🎣
Thank you, always appreciate your comments and input. If I have content, I do try to put as much of it in as possible, I just don't want to do for the sake of it if that makes sense.👍👍🎣🙏
Great vid bud, needles you cannot thread !! nice back drop to a good little session dude. Having only fished to the left also ,it was interesting to see what came up that side. Unfortunately found them snags ! Good to see you genuinely enjoying it tho , that what it really about mate appreciate your efforts 🎣👍🏼
Mate it is stunning down there isn't it. To be fair, I've found plenty of snags to the left too in the past. I haven't been for ages, so really wanted to have a go. We found a few fish, and was a good laugh, so not all bad👍👍🎣🎣
The lack of fish in many places this past 12 months or more is ridiculous, it's been pretty poor here on the Norfolk/Suffolk coast but keep being positive Dylan, things must get better soon, take care, Norfolk Ray
Yeah it's pretty rubbish. I keep saying right place right time, because I know there are fish out there. Some amazing reports from here last week, but unfortunately I was away. Tried last night along with about 30 people, but same old story, a few pout and a strap. Fingers crossed for that good session🤞🤞👍👍🎣
Hi dylan , well done on your rockling , we usz get the normal shore rockling are neck of the woods. You are lucky were you live for stunning marks dylan. Were i am on the east coast its so flat were lucky to have a hill any were hahaha. All the best dylan from GRIMSBY.
Ah mate, stay tuned for the an upload in a couple of weeks. Absolutely amazing mark, and is notoriously good fishing, not when we went, but no surprise there. The week before they were catching loads of tope 👍👍🎣🎣
Thanks mate, it is a stunning venue, very spoilt here for some amazing marks. A few of my mates live Vercelli rods, I've had a go myself, and they are nice👍👍🎣🎣
not a bad three bearded rockling i was looking at the needles from the other side Friday fishing Barton on sea in the afternoon all i had was a small bass you done better.
Well done for sticking at it, Dylan, and fish to show for all your effort. It's been a difficult year so far, a few good catches but quite a few blanks, here's hoping for better fishing in the coming weeks.
Thanks Steve buddy, there has been some really good reports from the back of the island with quite a few tope coming out, unfortunately I was away, tried last night, but it was the same standard of fishing as always, a few small fish that was it😂😂🎣🎣
Hi Dylan. It’s tough out there at the moment mate & well done on catching. I live in Kent & here as well it’s tough too. If it’s not windy, it’s weedy. I’ve just bought 2 Century Excalibur J-Curve rods & they are brilliant, casts like a dream & can punch a lead a goodly distance & I believe your new rod is roughly the same in action & bite detection & therefore I think you’ll going to love your rod when it arrives. Great video as always & hopefully we’ll get a break in the weather soon.
Ah nice work buddy, bet that set you back a pretty penny. First impressions are good on the tip tornado, it is second hand, and may have lost a bit of it's whip, but I need to use it a few more times I think. Yeah fishing is a struggle to be honest, but heading out tonight after a few good reports so fingers crossed. 👍👍🎣🎣🤞
Howdy Dylan, great vid mate👍I’m gonna make a little prediction here, I don’t know if you have had a cast with one already…but you’ll get your Tip Tornado, cast it and think “this feels bloody weird, like no other rod I’ve used before” you may even dislike it initially, then after a couple of months you’ll either want to get rid of it or buy another (probably the latter!) 😂 my last Century was a Tip Tornado lite, Christ knows why I sold it…. Was lush for Chesil. Take care buddy 😎👍
Thanks buddy, yeah it's funny you say that, because I've used it once and already, I'm like, nope, so I'll have another couple of goes, but in the back of my mind I'm already thinking it's going😂😂🎣🎣👍👍
@@FrugalOutdoors give it a chance buddy, I’m the last person in the world that should dish out casting advice, but if you try (when conditions allow) to develop a good off the ground cast, this will bend the rod a lot more than the overhead thump and you’ll see an improvement in distance, that’s when it will start to shine… take care feller 👍💪🏻
Well done for sticking it out and getting some fish. I havent been out for months after a terrible run of sessions in late May when good fresh bait and reliable marks yielded one doggie and a bunch of rigs lost to spider crabs. Got a bit fed up with the whole anticipation / disappointment cycle and decided to step away for a bit. My best month has always been September so I'll likely get back to it then. Doesn't seem like there's even Pout shoals out there does it? Usually plagued by them after dark.
Ah mate, I'm sorry to hear that, but also I totally get it. I feel like I'm putting loads of effort at the moment, and getting very little rewards. Having said that, I know from reports that the fishing has picked up a bit. The bream are definitely in now which is great, and reports of some very good fish coming from the back of the island. Hope you find your mojo buddy, and thank you for your support 👍👍🎣🎣🙏
Thanks buddy, yeah it's always good to look about and set up somewhere that looks like you can get out quick if it does go. We fished the back last night and we heard a fall, and a couple of fisherman made a run for it. Regarding clothing mate, if you ping me an email of sizes I can order them up and go from there. Cheers buddy frugal.od@gmail.com 👍👍🎣🎣🎣
Dillon, as i have told you before i have always fished for carp, we use three identical rods. can i ask why you guys do not use matching rods? great videos that inspired me to hit the beach, keep it up
That's great mate, glad you are getting into sea fishing. I have had two identical rods in the past, and I know a few that do, mainly it's because I like to fish one rod with smaller baits, and there for smaller fish and need a tippier rod for bite detection. But also you will still catch bigger fish on the small bait. My biggest fish a stingray 16lb something was on a two hook flapper with size 2 hooks for bream 👍👍🎣🎣🙏
You can bud, it's one of the few places that fishes ok all the way through, up and down, low and high, there is always a good depth of water, and the tidal pull isn't massive. Also never had a weedy session there, which is a bonus 👍👍🎣🎣
Cheers mate. Heading over next week for a week. Just trying to getting a few locations in mind. Staying at forest ponds. Thinking mybe Totland or Colwell bay. Great job with the videos by the way been really enjoying them! Cheers.
I'm not sure I understand your question, but as far as I can tell, you're implying I shouldn't due to the 10lb per oz of lead. So many people I fish with and see fishing fish straight through, especially when fishing snaggy areas, I've never had a problem and don't pendulum cast, have you ever mackerel fished with a 3oz and 15lb line? I stopped using a leader a long time ago, due to leaving so much line on the water, used to drive me mad. Incidentally, I have now started to change my cast, and now fish with 45lb braid with a tapered leader. Appreciate your comments👍👍🎣🎣
if you use braid near rocks ,the braid falls apart,i would snap ff every time even overhead thump, with 25 and a six oze, close in work,no snags,i use straigt through, for weed ect, simplest is best, macs 30 braid 3 oze,and i do bang i t out, cheers robin
Another great video always nice to be out especially with a few mates for the banter 🐟🦈
Yeah man defo, fishing wasn't great, but it's not always about the fish, it's nice to be out, having said that, a few fish would be nice😂👍👍🎣
Well done Dylan not a blank mate you did well for sticking it out , tight lines
Thanks buddy, much appreciated 👍👍🎣🎣
Nice one Dylan 👍 tight lines buddy 🎣👊💪
Cheers dude, much appreciated as always👍👍🎣
Nice one Dylan buddy
Cheers dude, hope you're well mate👍👍🎣
At least you have caught, well done mate👍
Thanks buddy, it's a great mark, I've never blanked down there, but likewise, it's never fished massively well for me. Just wanted to get down and have a go👍👍🎣
Thanks buddy, from what I can gather it seems pretty much the same in a lot of places👍👍🎣
Yep I must admit that I have fished there many times to over the years , caught all the species like pout , wrasse, eels, rockling, crab lol but never anything decent. Quite annoying for a really good venue.
Great video again mate 🎣👍
Thanks Ian, just hope the fish will turn up at some point 🤞👍👍🎣🎣
Well done Dylan, a little bit better this time mate, specimen shore crab lol.
Barely better mate lol, but thank you, reports were amazing last week, and I was away😂😂 tope after tope. Maybe next year 🤞🤞🎣🎣🎣
11:35 that's a three bearded rockling mate
It most definitely is mate, my bad, guess I was just happy to get a fish 😂👍🎣🎣
good stuff bro
Thanks buddy, no monsters, maybe next time, that's what keeps us going, just never know🎣🎣🙏

well your determination pays off again well done have never fished alum bay and it seems a long haul for very little but stunning views

Keep it going, im moving over to the isle of wight at the start of September & I shall be fishing off sandown beach & pier for the bass,😊
Thanks buddy, yeah it's notoriously good for bass, and a lot of other species on the pier. I had a great ray session there last time I went 👍👍🎣🎣
