- hey everyone,
So a trip out with Mr Slamfish himself this time round, hoping to get into something big to put a bend in the rod. The fishing was hard, very hard, but the company was great, and not many better places to sit and put the world to rights than Alum Bay, not a blank, so I have to take that away from it.
Big thanks to Kracken Sea Baits and Slamfish iow.
also thank you to Fenix for the head torch
Very excited to announce, we now have an online store, so please do check it out

Enjoyed the anticipation watching.
Tight lines, Take care
Thanks mate, it's the anticipation that keeps me going out, you just never know🤞🎣🎣
that's fishing, if it was easy it would be called catching!!!! keep on producing these video's, i really enjoy them. thank you.
Thank you David, I'm glad you enjoyed, it's always a bit difficult from my perspective posting this sort of video, but I've always wanted to keep it authentic 👍🎣🎣
We all have days and nights like that, as someone said it’s called fishing 🎣 and not catching.
Keep that positive attitude. Well done Dylan 🎣🎣
Thank you Richard, hopefully the next session will bring something a bit more special 🤞🎣🎣
Never mind Dylan, it doesn’t always go to plan. Nice of that guy to leave those books for you. Us fishermen are a good bunch. Upward & onwards to the next one. Good luck for that one 🐟.
Thanks buddy, yeah it all looked right, it always does🤣🤣. It was a nice little touch to get those books. Hopefully be some helpful tips in there🤞🤞🎣🎣
Excellent as always.
Thanks buddy, I really appreciate your continued support 👍🎣🎣
Love watching your videos its made me take fishing back up , so Thank you
That's brilliant mate, thank you. I'm glad you are getting back out there🎣🎣
One of my favourite fishing channels behind winning ways
Thanks Kevin, very much appreciated mate👍🎣🎣
good effort Dylan still not a blank mate just one of the sessions when you are out numberd by the crabs , stay safe mate cheers
Cheers mate, appreciate your support as always 😎🎣🎣
Still good to watch and listen bud ..Tight lines in the future you shall have yer day 🎣
Thanks mate, very kind🎣🎣
A tough session but you always give it your best, keep doing it.👍.
Thanks buddy, it was definitely a bit shy on bites on this one. I'll try and make up for it soon though🤞🤞🎣
Well done for perseverance may you do well next time out tight lines look forward to you next forray.
Thank you, very much appreciated 👍🎣
Hi Dylan ... It's not that you smell ... But your mates know about your propensity to cast /fish in their swims .. so 100yards gives them a chance of fishing alone 😂😁 ... A strap conger meant that you didn't blank, whilst keeping the crabs well fed 😂 ... 🐟🎣🎣👍
Lol, this is so true John, I do like to fish in Nobby's swim. It winds him right up if I can pull one out🤣🤣🎣👍
Well done, mate. At least you were out and about, tight lines for next time. Good luck with the comp.
Thanks Simon, I hope you still enjoyed mate🎣👍👍
Well done, Martin. What a brilliant video again. I really love watching the underwater video in so interesting and relaxing well done mate. Tight lines.
Hi Simon, I reckon this one was meant for the autistic angler. On of my favourite channels to watch😉👍🎣🎣
@@FrugalOutdoors sorry buddy love your videos too mate. Can’t wait for you to catch a big conga.
Nice video Dylan , fishing well mate , venue is stunning one , just sometimes difficult to pull in a sized fish , but can produce them on right day ! Appreciated as always dude 🎣👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks dude. Yeah I've heard of so many good fish coming out of there, and seen a few myself. It feels like it should fish all the time. Maybe it's the back drop, being so close to the needles, it just feels fishy😂😎🎣
Still a good watch mate
Thanks Steve, that's very much appreciated 👍👍
Good Morning Dylan , sorry im a day late mate ( full of cold ) , Yet again another well presented video with great content , not a blank but sometimes things don't go to plan , thats fishing but at least your out & trying , looking forward to your next session so until then please take care & tight lines
Ah shame mate, I hope you feel better soon. It was nice to be down there, if a little frustrating on the fishing front. I felt like I fished well, it just didn't happen, fingers crossed for next time🤞🎣🎣
Eazy Dylan you ok pal, at least you saved the old cheque book n pen. All the best from GRIMSBY
Only just mate, 😂😂🎣🎣
At least you were out fishing mate, and the weather wasn't too bad. As an added bonus, you got your daily steps in getting to and from that beach ! 😂
Lol, absolutely mate, the steps on the way back up are killer. Defo gets the thighs burning 😂😂🎣🎣
@@FrugalOutdoors I used to work at the Needles Pleasure Park when I lived in Freshwater, so know those steps well 😂
First!! Love your videos
Thanks mate, glad you enjoy 👍🎣🎣
I made it to the end Dylan ! Don’t know what’s up with Alum bay at the moment, I went there the other night all I managed was a couple of pout between 2 rods ! No crab activity tho.
Little tip mate, don’t reel your clip through the rod rings like that, recipe for a cracked liner. I knew some one who used to do that and actually broke the liner right out. I feed mine through each ring manually except for the butt ring before I wind on to the reel.
Hope you don’t mind me saying 👍
Thanks Alan, yeah it's a funny venue, it always feels like it should fish, and I know sometimes it does. It's a stunning place to fish though, and hopefully I'll get lucky down there one day😂😂. I used to put a rubber sleeve over my clips, I do still have them, but I keep forgetting to put them on. 👍🎣🎣
Unlucky on that session mate alum bay can be like that it can be amazing 1 day and rubbish the next but either way its still a lovely beach to spend an evening chatting with friends. Those books look great normally have some helpful little tips and tricks even if the fish and the venues have changed
Thanks Dan mate, it's definitely a hit or miss venue, but to be honest, a few seem to be like that for me at the minute. The books are great bud, definitely some handy info in there👍🎣🎣
Cracking vid as always Dylan brother!
Cheers dude, what's going on at your end, been a bit quiet on the uploads mate😎🎣🎣
@@FrugalOutdoors Work n Van issues buddy back at it soon Cheers bro
Some you win some you lose. But Dylan the presentation of vid excellent. Still useful.
Thank you Sharon, I'm glad you still enjoyed, was pretty tough down there with all those crabs👍🎣🎣
Great video, awsome headtorch! Them wellies are brilliant I’ve got a pair and there the toastiest thing 👌
Thanks buddy, the head torch is awesome. Definitely my new favourite, won't be giving this one away. The wellies are toasty too. Sometimes a bit too warm 🤣🤣🎣
been quiet south side of island too hopefully will pick up soon
Yeah I went to shepherd's on Wednesday, not much better there to be honest. Plenty of pout, few congers 👍🎣🎣
Good video and you didn't blank 😊
Thanks Ray, it's always a bit difficult posting a video like this, so I'm glad you still enjoyed it🎣🎣
Great video again mate 👍👍
Thanks buddy, glad you enjoyed 👍🎣🎣
Always enjoy you can't always get loads or it would be no fun 😂
Thanks Ray mate, much appreciated 👍🎣🎣
Always good to see you....some sessions tougher for you than others... the fishes live for another day eh?
Thanks mum, yeah it's been pretty difficult lately, plenty of bream though. X
How bizarre Dylan . The guy on the front of the book, Mr. Bernowicz was a teacher at my school, I was hunting through some belongings and found the exact book.
He was an awesome fisherman.
George Bernowicz.lived at Boulder if I remember correctly..went fishing with him once or twice awesome angler
@@jeffdeacon-x1q you are 100% correct.👍
That's so cool. Daisy said she recognises him too. Such a nice little thing to be given. It's got some good info in there for sure👍🎣🎣
@@FrugalOutdoors
I was given that one when he first published it, way back lol.
👍👍
Thank you👍🎣
Can’t win the all mate but u fished hard and may have somthing to do with all them Bream u had last week lol 😊😊😊😊
That's it mate, on good session, now I'll get 3 stinkers in a row🤣🤣🎣
@@FrugalOutdoors lol you never know it’s being out there that counts
That’s is how it goes sometimes, do you ever use rag or lugworm??. I’ve had quite abit of luck with rag and squid.
Thanks Stef, I don't really use worm that much, not unless it's a comp, we don't have a huge abundance of flat fish here on the island, and most species will take fish or squid. I may take some out soon though, as I'd like to have a go on some sole😉🎣🎣
Interesting. I would suggest some options to your tackle and they way you are casting, fishing.
I'm always open to suggestions. I haven't been fishing for long, so anything helpful is always appreciated👍🎣🎣
Hi Dillon, love the videos. I wanted to ask you what flotation suit you have as I remember you saying it was a reasonable price and that it fits shorter people as I'm 5' 8?
Hey mate, it's the prologic one. It's like 90 pounds for top and bottom. It's cheap but it does the job, it's really warm. I've had mine for 3 years now, and nothing wrong with it at all. It's been washed a fair few times, so it's not as water proof as it once was, but it works for sure👍🎣🎣
@@FrugalOutdoors Perfect, cheers for letting me know I'm going to get one
I use pop ups about 3/4s of the year because of all the crabs. Not on every rig obviously.
It seems to make the difference. I don't know if they fish better, but you definitely feel more confident about not losing hooks👍🎣🎣
@@FrugalOutdoors they don't do that well for bass imo, buuuut way more visible, not getting mullered by crabs, and a million times better chance of catching a livebait. Great for bream, and flatties, size 4 hooks and half a lug or a couple of squid technicals, game on.
I'd just like to say re fenix if it said in the box on medium setting will last 24 hours wrong ,all fenix headlights state times on box which are not correct, the new fenix hm35r states 11 hours 800 lumens nope 3 hours then steps down to 400 and so on Watch my video fenix headlight explained settings and this is the same for all fenix headtorches
To clarify, I said it lasts around 24hrs on medium, which was the setting I thought I had it on, it turns out I had it on low. Being as the lumens is so low, even on medium, I doubt it will have to drop due to heat. Time is the same, but lumens may drop in higher modes, as stated on the box for turbo, which includes the lowering of power.
Eco: 5 lumens (12.5 days)
Low: 50 lumens (35 hrs)
Med: 150 lumens (12 hrs)
High 600 lumens (3 hrs)
Turbo: 1600 lumens (2 hrs inc temperature and battery level step downs).
Many thanks for your input, and I hope this helps 👍🎣🎣
@@FrugalOutdoors yes thanks so won't last 24 hours cheers and great video by the way keep them coming
Fishing is dire at the momement from the beach not much about these days
Yeah I've definitely found it quite hard, since the hounds have started to slow up, plenty of bream about still though. Out again this week, so fingers crossed, I can find something 🤞🎣🎣
Could be worse, you could be carp fishing 😂
Lol, been there, tried it, didn't like it😂🎣🎣
