@@minnamimou4962 It did open ONLY because I wasn't following what I was supposed to be doing with my retainers. But if you wear your retainers as instructed, your teeth will stay in place or some people get lingual retainers (placed behind the teeth) where the lingual ones keep the teeth together and prevent relapse. How’s it going? I’ve had my MSE for almost 4 weeks and my gap is getting big enough that I’m self conscious. I’ve thought about wearing a mask in certain situations.
I also thought about wearing a mask. Heck, I even bought a pack of masks. But I decided to embrace it and just explain it, and people were pretty understanding. I'd say my gap is about half a centimeter, maybe a little more. It's visible from really far and bigger than a natural gap. What makes me most uncomfortable though is the pain, I was told I would just feel slight discomfort but it's hella painful in all upper teeth@@howdidigethere41

Basically if you’re comfortable talking about it then it makes people feel less awkward asking and you’ll satisfy their curiosity. Also, I had so many people tell me that my gap was cute even when it got bigger than what I considered cute. People told me they’d rather see me smile than try to hide it. I guess act like it’s no big deal and then it becomes no big deal 🤷♀️ Mind you, I’m a full grown adult and I mostly deal with emotionally mature people. Kids can be assholes to each other sometimes.

@@SilverGeFer turning the screws is not painful, it only results in a buildup of pressure that you get accustomed to after a few hours. It’s when the cumulative pressure of multiple days of turns results in the suture splitting that you may feel some pain. It’s transient. Totally worth it.

Turns out when there’s braces and and expander at the same time, it’s just the back of ur mouth getting expanded, while the braces close of the gap that in the FRONT. The only thing about widening that much is that braces now have to pull these teeth through alveolar bone to fill in that space, and that is a huge amount of trauma both to the teeth and the alveolar bone.
I experience the same situation with two missing cones in my upper teeth but having braces was a up and down experience but worth it, I just got my braces off two days ago on Wednesday April 3,2024 after Two and Half years almost three years but anyways now I have a retainer with fake teeth for temporary until I get a real teeth cone implant but I'm not sure if I'll still need my retainer or a get new retainer!!! ☺️💗

Not at all I did not feel anything It feels like your mouth is open you can’t shut it but you can’t shut it and everything just puffy
no because they put on numbing gel for the needles so you won’t even feel the needles!!
