Approx. one & one half yr. ago , just below my rt. knee was cut off and my world stopped . So , I got a Harley trike & it is helping me with my depression every day. Thanks Harley Davidson
I also have many medical conditions. The time spent on my Trike calms and soothes me and makes my depression go away, at least for a little while. I have actually caught myself smiling, something I never do any other time. Peace and ride safe brother.
I own a 2021 HD TriGlide and love it. Installed a Stage II on the 114 and it woke the motor up. I can easily keep up with the two wheel bikes while riding in comfort. There so many benefits to a Trike such as comfort, stability, storage capacity, and high visibility to other drivers on the road. I can go on with all the benefits but I’ll let other riders try one out before judging. Again, I love my TriGlide.
I bought a new tri-glide in 2012 at age 64. Have had it in 10 different states. Now has 46,000 miles. I love it. Can do my grocery shopping with it. Stage 2 kit gives it enough power. They are not a sport bike for sure but very stable. I live in Oregon.
After getting a trike I wish I would have done it 20 years ago I am physically able to ride a two-wheeler now but the trike is so much more relaxing and fun to ride a two-wheeler
Just got a 2024 TriGlide Ultra in deference to my lady. You don't ride it, you drive it, kinda like steering a tractor! I still have a Heritage Classic, so at 72, I'm still up on two wheels. 😁
I have seen more trikes this riding season than I have my entire life. They are everywhere! Seems like everyone is riding them. Men, women, young and old. I'll ride a trike once I no longer feel like I can handle two wheels. I hope I can afford one when the time comes.
I know this is an older video, but still relevant. Just traded in my '18 Road Glide Ultra with Stage 2 (RS 468, S&S camchest, ported and flowed, Power Vision and Wideband O2s, headers and Tabs). Picked up a bone stock 2023 Tri Glide Ultra. Mainly for wife's comfort on the long trips. Although tame by anyones standard, the 114 is no slouch either. I've only put on a Bassani exhaust (really just for the sound!) And I don't have problems keeping up with the boys. I ride in the back because I have to ride in the center of the lane. I do take curves and twisties slower. May not be for everyone, but I've got 54+ years on two wheels and I can honestly say three wheels are fun as hell! I will say make sure you stay at or under the S&S 475 lift on a motor without heavier valve springs. I like the RS468 for that reason. Great low end torque as well.
I’m 39, blessed to have no physical disabilities, been wanting to pull the trigger on a HD trike. I just would like the ability to ride without worrying about stability in various weather conditions, the ability to bring my Bulldog along in the back and having to balance, and no being able to be not seen in day or night traffic.
I just bought a 2022 HD TriGlide Ultra and love it. Been riding bikes for 59 years and as the bikes got bigger and I had more Agent Orange disabilities, including Parkinson's, I could no longer handle the 2 wheedlers, sold my FatBoy for the Trike. Great to ride.
The Tri-Glide Ultra (2021) that I have is the hardest vehicle in my experience to learn how to ride. That being said now I love it. It took me a long time to figure out it was not like a 2-wheeler and it was not like a car, but somewhere in between. (It doesn't quack like a duck) You can't lean it into the curves and you can't make tight curves quickly, you MUST slow down, or you will roll it over. Not good for you or the bike :) My advice is take your time, learn the machine, and drive safe. I think someone without much 2-wheeler experience will find this easier to ride than someone who, like me, has certain expectations from 50 years+ of riding 2-wheelers. You have to unlearn that and concentrate on learning all over again. If you do that you will not be sorry you bought one. They are a blast.
I did a 131 build on my 2020 triglide. It’s got a woods 77x cam in it with upgraded intake, roller rockers and cam plate and oil pump ,extreme CNC ported screaming eagle heads, bigger injectors and I beefed up the clutch and used a man o war compensator. I used Carrillo 11.5 pistons in it with a fuel Moto tune. It hauls ass now and I have to be careful when turning and hitting the throttle because it walks the front wheel. I don’t beat on it so hopefully I won’t have any problems with the transmission. I also replaced every nut and bolt on the engine with ARP 12 points.I’m glad I did it.
Peter's missing the point, but that's OK, let him be happy on his rice rocket while he can. As for your build..... WoHoooooo, I have basically the same build in my RG, and the only thing that's still more fun is my EBR 1190 in the twisties
@@GixxerFoo your kinda the reason I built it and definitely the cam I used was because of one of your vids. I first used the wood 22XE cam in the 114, I liked it so much I tore it down a week later and built the 131. It also runs very cool now with Vance and Hines head pipe and slip one. I also put a remote oil filter with a ultra-cool twin fan oil cooler. It lopes a great deal so I leave the idle up where Harley had it set. Cheers!
I went from a 2018 Ultra Limited to a 2022 Triglide. Best decision I ever made. I had two shoulder surgeries and two knee surgeries. I just could safely ride with my wife anymore, so we made the move to the trike.
I have a’17 Freewheeler with M8 107. I’ve added S&S 475 cam, V&H power dual head pipe with 4.5 high output mufflers. Brought together with a power commander 5 dyno tuned by an independent Harley certified tech. I have excellent torque and as much top end as I want. Good video.
I just converted my 08 Lowrider to a trike with the Frankenstein Trikes Kit. Best move I did. Got me back out in the wind. Still have a stage 1 on it but thinking of doing cams. The 96 has the power but no one ever said there is too much power.
96 will do really well with a dyna converted over, those are quite a bit lighter than a touring bike convert. Cams will really make it haul a whole lot easier!
@@eddiegerlach7121 Frankenstein Kit is expensive but it is worth it. Took me about 10 hours over a couple of weeks to do it. Bet thing I ever done. And I haven't seen one like my bike running around.
Thank you for putting this trike video out. I just turned 73 years old. And traded in my Road Glide. for the new RG3. I am a big believer in stage two. and I appreciate you, giving your opinion. on the cams. I hope you put out some more trike Videos. I would be very interested in lift kits and suspension advice. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
It came to a point where going two-up on my FLHTK was not an option following a leg injury. So I got into trikes. I am now on a 2021 CVO that I mostly use for long trips or when riding two-up. When I ride solo, I used to have a 48, that I switched for a FXLRST last year. So the best of both world. I often hear bad comments like I would never get on a trike or If it came down to it I’d stop riding. Let me know how it goes when you actually have to make that decision.
A lot of people talk crap about them but they've never actually been on one either. I haven't talked to someone that had anything bad to say once they got off one.
if they say they'd rather give up riding than climb on a trike i have to seriously question their love of riding to start with. when my disability dictated swapping my two wheeler for a three wheeler it was like the road gods smiled down on me. it was truly a blessing that i'm thankful for every time i climb on her. which is almost every day.
One of my motorcycles is a 1957 G servi-car 45 cubic inches. 57G12xx. It might top out at 60 MPH on a good day going downhill. Now that's underpowered brother! But, it wasn't built for Speed. Solid reliability and easy to work on.
If I live long enough to need a trike to keep riding then I wouldn't hesitate one bit. Hearing that V Twin exhaust note and feeling the air rushing around me is something I would want to have for as long as I can.
I was in a nasty motorcycle accident so after I recovered I bought a 22 Freewheeler, did the exhaust, headers, air intake and wm8-22xe cam.. 😁 I absolutely love it. I had a Road King so I didn't want the Tri-Glide, the Freewheeler reminds me SOOO much of the road king. The cam made a night n day difference. I also put an air assist oil cooler on as well
I am glad to hear you cam out of that crash alright! That Wood cam makes a huge difference, the trikes are a lot of fun to ride and they are honestly a lot less hassle than a traditional bike.
Have you done any work to the engine with a trike conversion? Biggest complaint about the HD factory trikes was lack of power and they really stressed that 103 they used. The 107 was a huge improvement, the 114 was what it really needed to begin with.
I had mixed emotions regarding trikes, my brother had a stroke and we got him on one. I think that thing doesn't have enough power to get out of it's own way but seeing the smile on his face as he's getting wind in his hair more then makes up for my misgivings
@GixxerFoo Great video as usual. Thank you for doing this for all of us on Trikes. I had to make the switch to 03 wheels last year after lifelong on 02 due to health. Went from an 18 w/114 to a 12 w/103. Missing the 114! Handlebars should be a top 03 item as well imho.
I recently switched from a 17 Electra glide ultra to a 17 tri glide. Personally I have no issue with it being under powered. No regrets here on making the switch
Thank you for this video ! I am 70 and on the 19th of January this year I ordered a freewheeler . I needed to do so because I was finding the weight of my Road King was becoming too much for me . I live in Australia and we seem to behaving trouble getting the trike here , but when it arrives I sure I will love it .
I have ridden over40 years got a 2023 RG3 trike love it! Should have done it minute my hip &knee started to hurt. Suffering to stay on 2 wheels was stupid. Best thing I ever did. Only complaint is M8 114 run so HOT my right calf can not take the Florida bumper to bumper traffic. What can I do to reduce motor heat on my leg? I been told it is the CAT. Bikes under warranty so can't pull cat off .
Well under warranty you should be able to install a new header as long as you tune it with a Screamin Eagle tuner. That will help but you have to buy that tuner and it doesn't allow for AFR changes, which is what you want to do to further cool the bike off and make it run 100x better. Since you're under warranty and if you don't mind possibly buying another tuner later I would get an aftermarket performance header and mufflers, tune it with the SE tuner and purchase a Power Vision later when the warranty is up to tune it.
Andrea, I live in SoCal so I understand the heat and traffic issues as I have a 2022 CVO Tri Glide 117. DK Customs has videos on how to cool your bike. I bought their tank lift, air flow deflectors and the thing I think reduces the heat most is their floorboard extensions. They move your leg away from the pipes allowing more air flow between them. You can still feel some heat when stopped or going real slow but the difference is night and day. I installed everything with the help of my 8-year-old great grandson. None of these voids any warranty. Hope this helps.
Great Content 👍 thank you. I'm seriously thinking going to a trike, for alot of the reasons you mentioned, mucleing around my 2 wheel bagger, riding two up and other various reasons, age😅
We have a 2016 Tri Glide with the HO 103. Completely stock it definitely struggles past 70, not to mention the abysmal gas mileage. I am wanting to get second trike, a 114 Freewheeler.
Have over 11,000 miles on my 131 2019 Tri glide. Going to put the new 135 in a new RG3. Not only are the trikes the most expensive bike on the road they are the fastest. Love your videos.
I love love the info you share. Yes I've moved on from a cam ed out Harley 2005, to 2016 H.O. Freewheeler. I love them both. But with two knee replacements and a passenger. I'm not running from light to light blasting down the road. I'm on a big comfy ride not having to balance bike and rider. Speaks volumes about riding longer. But still retaining the look and sound of my favorite ride. Harley The Thrill and Squeel of the wife with me enjoying her first motorcycle rides is priceless.
I have a 2022 trike. Love my wife has to use a wheelchair. So I put a trailer hitch on the trike and use a two bicycle rack for her wheelchair. Works great. We rode our own bikes when we met in 1968 now we still enjoy riding at 72 years old. I have bad knees so with the trike we feel safe and enjoy life
As for me at 65 , when I have to give up my dual sport and Breakout if I need to ride in the wind I'll get a Jeep. Trikes starting at 40 K just aren't for me but more power to the folks that like them.
I have several bikes. One is a 2015 Ultra with a 103HO. Just like you said parking lots and very slow moves made me think of getting a trike. I did buy one a couple of months ago, still not great weather in northern Ohio. The trike is a 2022 with a 114. I trailered it home and it has been in the garage getting add ons. What cam would you suggest for the 114? You talked about the reverse gear in the trike one big reason for me to purchase but, I am looking at a real reverse gear not a starter motor. I have looked on the net over the last couple of months and that starter motor might be a weak link, no sure. Great videos, thanks for your efforts
Great video Gixx,, always great information. I bought a "15 for my old lady as she is vertically challenged and as we like to tour long distance it only made sense, as I have bad knees and back its only time before I hang up my Electra, point being is your absolutely right about being UNDERPOWERED..I bought ours stock and over heating, power issues and BAD fuel mileage plagued it, fast forward a DK customs oil filter relocation / oil cooler kit , a good stage 1 upgrade and it runs cooler, still having heat issues but the factory fans dont run constantly now and the power is much better. ( removed the cat, cobra neighbour haters, AN big sucker, and a VH3 tuner) really woke it up, but it really needs more. Ive never heard of a Woods TW7H but ill be looking into that this winter for it as the numbers you showed on screen are impressive to say the least, and exactly what this 1300 pound pig needs to make her fly. ride safe and look forward to the next one. Cheers from the Great White North
Road a Ultra for years, after wife's two knee surgeries it became more difficult to ride loaded and two up and for her to mount up. Found a 2018 Tri-Glide Ultra with a 107 with a few modifications and additions we are back on the road with a renewed sense of confidence and enjoyment. BKF/FBK
Thanks for this video, I was going to get used (2013-ish) with a 103 Trike as a retirement gift to me and the wife, I guess newer is better when it comes to hp.
I have a 2019 Tri Glide Ultra and I agree, it was seriously underpowered, even with a 114 engine. I put Tab 4.5 w/Zombie baffles, an S&S Intake manifold, a better air intake, and Jims USA 818 cams and had it dyno tunes. Now she pushes 103HP (at 5000 RPM) and 130TQ (at 3570 RPM). I can get the front wheel off the ground if I want, and keep up with my 2-wheel club brothers, even on a 1200+ pound trike. I had to go to 3-wheels after 40 years on 2-wheels and a knee replacement. While the Tri Glide Ultra is great, if you mostly ride solo, the new Road Glide 3 is AWESOME. I just wish they had that out when I went to a trike and put a bunch of money into my Ultra. Also, going from 2-wheels to 3-wheels takes a bit of time getting used to. I was making 90 degree turns very slowly in the beginning ... you feel like the bike would tip over, but it doesn't. After a couple months, and adding a Legend Lift Kit, I can take turns faster than I can on a 2-wheeler. Also, trikes are ALL upper body strength for turning, no leaning, so there is that adjustment.
I converted a 94 sporty and built it up. 1250 hammer kit, mikuni hsr42, thunderheader, ported, ignition, raked trees and a pingel epectric shifter among some other things. It rips!
I have a 2022 Tri Glide because my wife will not get on 2 wheels. It's awesome having a blast on it. Easiest thing you will ever ride, it won't fall over!
A friend of mine has an older HD trike do in part because of a back injury and can no longer ride on 2 wheels because of pain. Its a nice machine and he said the comfort is hands down the best he has ever had and he has had some nice baggers. I wouldnt think twice about getting a trike if I couldnt ride on 2 anymore. The new ones are very plush as well as look good doing it. HD knows its core customers are of that demographic that trikes are the viable option to not riding anymore. My wife whom is vertically challenged has already been eying the trikes. LOL she rides a Fat Boy now and we are not getting any younger.
I have the 2020 Tri Glide and have only added Screaming Eagle Orange wires... just turned 1000 miles... yes 1000 miles! What do you think I should do next? Goals - Cam which one? Lift kit rear? Air flow not gaudy? your thoughts, please?
Yep...I have a 2016 Tri Glide with the Twin Cool 103 ci I like riding it for all the comforts, but the stock rear suspension sucks, so the oem air shocks are coming off and being replaced with a set Nexgen. Also, I found a a new complete (cat free) exhaust system, Tuner and new air box....It should help with what I need and how I'll be riding it
My URAL side car outfit is 750 lbs. You can get a inexpensive side car for $4,000 installed. Alot more affordable than a trike conversion or a new trike
Have about 30K on my 131 Tri Gluide no issues. More power is a no brainer. This is the most expensive model Harley maes and it is the fastest. The issue is learning how to ride one. If a person gets the right instruction it is a win win. Great Video.
Talk about a great experiment. Harley should make a bigger version of the 1250 rev max engine and put it in the Tri- glide. Give it more torque than Hp
Hello, I just traded in my 2020 Road Glide with a stage 2(RS 468 CAM Thank you for your wonderful advice) I am now the proud owner of a RG 3. I feel I made a good choice. I would like to do a stage two on the Trike, But aren't most Dyno's set up for two wheeled motorcycles? Is it possible to get a dyno tune on a trike?
I recently bought a new ‘23 Tri Glide Ultra with the M8-114 and waiting now for Spring weather in the northeast. I liked your video but hope someone will share experiences in handling the Trike. I’ve seen some negative stuff on TH-cam about under steering and maybe breaking. The roads around us here are typically twisters and some hills. What are some of the caveats I should be aware of to safely drive this new beauty. Thanks anyone.
Would love to know when they are going to make them automatic. So people who have trouble with arms and legs do not have to shift gears. Please comment back would love to purchase one. But I am one of these people with trouble with a leg and Arm thank you for this video
I would love a trike, great for bad weather, lots of carrying capacity. Though, I would really be looking at a front reverse convertion, all the stability with only the need for a reverse gear
You ain't bullpoopin, they aren't cheap. We have a 2019 Triglide and was close to 50K out the door. If you are thinking of getting one because it's just too difficult to ride on 2's, then a Harley 3 wheeler is really your only option out there. Just a couple of points to add, they handle totally different from anything else. They can be a pain to get on and off if you have mobility issues, I had to install a "mid-step" which will solve that issue. And lastly, if you install a trailer hitch on it and take it in for warranty work, that will void your warranty, period. They handle pretty well in the snow, I don't recommend it, but it is a blast. Just turn the traction control off first!
Thanks for your videos. I have a 107 freewheeler with stage 1 and I do a lot of long trips around Europe, mainly mountains and curvy roads but also highways. I'm planning a full stage 2 and add a new cam and so far I narrowed down to S&S465 or Zippers Red Shift 468?. I m looking for torque and longevity. Thanks for the advice!
Roadsmith Trikes! 🇺🇸They are the absolute leader in this business!! 🏁Please do yourself a huge favor and do your research!!!! Before you buy anything!! Please be safe out there!!
I'm not old enough or disabled ! And , I've been riding motor bikes , since I was 10 years old...starting w/ Honda Monkey 50 cc . Next Yamaha 100 cc. To a Honda 500 twin to Honda 750 cc. But , truth be told until you , become one with your scooter ! I mean balance , and parking lot maneuvering ! Not , putting your feet off the pegs when coming to a complete stop. Also you , do not steer a bike ! You , push and lean with syntriffical force...power in , and power out . LL KOOL RAY 😎 FRISCO
I did the DNA Specialty trike conversion kit to a Sportster 48 Special. It was a fantastic bolt on kit, The company was fantastic to deal with. It turn out Great but I could never get used to riding it. It was like the illegitimate child of a motorcycle and a British sports car. LoL But a fun build.
I have a 2018 tri glide ultra. Suffered a major foot injury years ago and 3 wheels was my option. The M8 107 has enough power that I wheelie the trike without trying on a stock engine.
I am a proud owner of a 2019 Freewheeler Trike with a 114 Stage 2 conversion that gets up and makes a believer out of some surprised two wheeler riders. Everything from being my daily driver, to carving some canyons, this trike keeps me smiling like the Cheshire Cat! And I have future plans, some already in motion, for further mods that will blow some minds. For instance, currently I'm doing a RG3 total factory color matched fairing addition, then some incredible suspension mods and finally a crate engine / transmission, drivetrain upgrades that could possibly cause heading twisting neck injuries. Thank you for the video and info, Gixxer. Thumbs up to your channel!
Great video. I don't have a trike nor have I ever ridden 1. I do have a question about my 08 roadking with the 96ci engine it though. I'm having problems with the charging on it. I put an aftermarket stereo on it and now the battery goes dead and it has caused an issue with the lights. My local harley dealer says the the stereo is drawing to much power and that I need a larger voltage regulator. It has the stock 1 on it right now. What is the biggest 1 I can put on it?
I've not been on a trike since 1967, when I would ride with my God Uncle "Jungle Jim" MAA of the HA in San Diego, CA. down to Tijuana, Mexico, or to the blowouts in the mountains near Sacramento, Redding, and Red Bluff. I was only 11 & 12. My point is that a trike has less stability on the turns compared with a Can-am reverse trike.
I am 65 years old and Have Back Problems . And I am Looking at a Trike Because I don't have to try and Back it up like you would a full Dresser .And if I can find a used one at a good Price I will get one sooner rather than Later . Thanks for the Info on the power Plant . god Bless and ride safe
The problem with trikes is most motorcycle shops aren't set up for working on them and automotive tires. Most automotive shops won't touch anything not 4 wheeled. You will have to be patient and resourceful to pull off a trike!
I have a 2014 Triglide Trike I’m looking at the Wood TW7H what type of tuner do you think I would need to purchase and will I need the SNS oil or pump or can I stick with what I already have?
You can run the stock oil pump and cam plate but upgrades are well worth it while you're in there. I would highly recommend a Power Vison 3 for the tuner!
I would definitely ride one. I’ll most likely be on one in the next few years. I’ve had surgery on both knees, and my street glide is 820 pounds. I can’t really lighten it.
Out in Arizona also. Rarely saw trikes in California, but in the last 5 years tons of trikes. I think it is because their are less younger people interested in riding and the riding generation, if you will, are social security age. At least that is my hypotheses.
I own a 2019 triglide. I ride 95% with my wife. I’m a big guy and I can ride as far and long as we want. Plenty of power. I can pass or whatever and keep up just fine. And I get great gas mileage, approximately 43 mpg. Some day I want to get rid of the foot cooker.
What are your thoughts on the Harley-Davidson trikes? Would you consider switching over to a trike?
I did

I'd want a 150 inch engine, straight pipes, wheelie bars, a little parachute on the tour pack. Lol.
My 2015 FLRT was a dog, the 17 107M8 was better, now my stock 21 FLRT 114M8 is stock and has more than enuff snort
Not now.
Approx. one & one half yr. ago , just below my rt. knee was cut off and my world stopped . So , I got a Harley trike & it is helping me with my depression every day. Thanks Harley Davidson

I absolutely love them for being able to ride something like a touring bike with a passenger and not having to deal with all the weight.
I have a 2022 CVO Tri-glide been riding for 50 years & the trike is my 9th Harley . Wish I had gone to the trike sooner love it !!!
The core diehard Harley generation is aging, leading then to trikes
That’s exactly where I am!
added a Star 30/30 cam to my 2021 tri glide. Solved any lingering torque issues.
You built that bike right! I imagine you probably surprise a lot of people with it!
Cheers!
Sweet build. What exhaust are running?
Thats awesome
I've got an 04 TC88 carbed Low Rider. Never thought about doing a conversion, as I didn't think that was possible. The possibilities...🤔
@@GixxerFoo yup, they are different, but still fun to ride.
@@GixxerFoo Keeps my knees in the breeze and my wife feels safer when we ride two up.
if they say they'd rather give up riding than climb on a trike i have to seriously question their love of riding to start with. when my disability dictated swapping my two wheeler for a three wheeler it was like the road gods smiled down on me. it was truly a blessing that i'm thankful for every time i climb on her. which is almost every day.
One of my motorcycles is a 1957 G servi-car 45 cubic inches. 57G12xx. It might top out at 60 MPH on a good day going downhill. Now that's underpowered brother! But, it wasn't built for Speed. Solid reliability and easy to work on.
That's awesome you have one of those and still riding it today!!
Own a 2005 Soft tail with a Champion kit. Long rides are no problem. Never tired. Love it.
The new “sportiness” of the trikes is a great option for older riders that cannot handle the balance and weight of these newer heavier Harley’s 👍🏻
I gotta admit that new Road Glide 3 is pretty slick!
never understood why people refuse to ride a lighter bike....
I have both a 2016 Freewheeler and a 99 FXDWG. Love them both. Just a totally different riding experience.
At 70 years old, hell yeah I've been thinking about one
I love love the info you share. Yes I've moved on from a cam ed out Harley 2005, to 2016 H.O. Freewheeler. I love them both. But with two knee replacements and a passenger. I'm not running from light to light blasting down the road. I'm on a big comfy ride not having to balance bike and rider. Speaks volumes about riding longer.
But still retaining the look and sound of my favorite ride. Harley
The Thrill and Squeel of the wife with me enjoying her first motorcycle rides is priceless.
I love the trikes, it's a lot for many people to handle a dresser with a passenger and gear! Thank you for the support over here on the channel!
Just like anything with the Harley it's going to be overpriced lol.
I road two wheels most of my life, but recently parked the 18 ultra Limited and bought a 22 Triglide. I wish I’ve done it years ago.
You're on the right track getting it all lined out it sounds like! Getting a cam swap done in a trike makes a world of difference!
I'm 85 and riding a Goldwing Trike. Would be dangerous, if not impossible, on a touring bike.
I bet that bike has a killer lope on it! I imagine you surprise a lot of people with that!
@@GixxerFoo Oh she sounds awesome, like a Harley SHOULD.
I bought my URAL side car outfit for$4,000 inrunning condition and only 6,000 miles 5 years ago. Have 50,000 miles on her now. Fun to ride.
I switched to a trike last year and never looked back. A 22 model with a stage 1 does great!!
I converted my 2011 Road Glide to a trike earlier this year using all HD OEM parts, had to do it after using a Friends Tri Glide for about a week. 🙃👍🏿
Yep...I have a 2016 Tri Glide with the Twin Cool 103 ci I like riding it for all the comforts, but the stock rear suspension sucks, so the oem air shocks are coming off and being replaced with a set Nexgen. Also, I found a a new complete (cat free) exhaust system, Tuner and new air box....It should help with what I need and how I'll be riding it
You'll really appreciate that suspension, I have never heard anyone make an investment in suspension and regret it.
My URAL side car outfit is 750 lbs. You can get a inexpensive side car for $4,000 installed. Alot more affordable than a trike conversion or a new trike
Thanks for the Woods cam info. What about a full exhaust? What would you recommend for a 2021 M8 114?
I put full rinehart exhaust on my 2020 114 I’m also interested in that woods cam
I plan to convert my 2007 Fatboy into a trike with a Frankenstein Trike kit.
Look into Roadsmith before you pull the trigger! I promise you’ll never regret it!!
Watching you for awhile and I was going to order a woods 222 , now I going to order a woods TW-7H - 2014 triglide 103 HO . Thank you 👍
The choice of to go with Wood is easy, the hard part is picking which one.
A trike kit with independent suspension is the way to go
Probably will be 70 this year 2016 breakout now but will be considering trike in the next year or two I'll ride till I die.
Have about 30K on my 131 Tri Gluide no issues. More power is a no brainer. This is the most expensive model Harley maes and it is the fastest. The issue is learning how to ride one. If a person gets the right instruction it is a win win. Great Video.
My argument is, I'm thinking a Woods 5 for any Twin Cam would be better for a trike. Please prove me wrong....much better for the low end.
Talk about a great experiment. Harley should make a bigger version of the 1250 rev max engine and put it in the Tri- glide. Give it more torque than Hp
They honestly should of put some better cams at the very least in the trike motors to get some more power for the trikes.
Watching you I was about to order a woods 222 )( now I’m going for the T W- 7 H )( 2014 triglide 103 HO , thank you.
Good choice!
I love them for that touring comfort without the hassle of all the weight on a touring bike.
I have a 2020 Sandstone colored Triglide with woods 22x cam and power vision tuner. I love it!
I have a 2016 Road Glide Special, after some neck and back surgery I am seriously considering a trike.
Those are some excellent points! That traction control can be a real pain in the butt too!
Love to have a tri - glide. To spendy . Rode a 1200 sporty for 10 yrs, then a off the showroom floor, a Heritage Softail Classic for 11yrs.
Really like to get one myself, I can still ride my RKC, but not great in slow manievuers and where been staying gravel and uneven ground been pain lol
I brought a 23Tri Glide in April. Big difference from my Ultra . My wife likes the trike much better for trips.
Ordered the RG3 2 weeks ago, trading my roadglide special in for it.
I did the DNA Specialty trike conversion kit to a Sportster 48 Special. It was a fantastic bolt on kit, The company was fantastic to deal with. It turn out Great but I could never get used to riding it. It was like the illegitimate child of a motorcycle and a British sports car. LoL
But a fun build.
Road glide as a trike is makes about much sense as leather tassels on a vrod
I have a 2018 tri glide ultra. Suffered a major foot injury years ago and 3 wheels was my option. The M8 107 has enough power that I wheelie the trike without trying on a stock engine.
I don’t know about under powered, but my 114 Freewheeler cruises comfortably @ 70-75 mph. with no power mods.
The 103 pulled pretty well in the FreeWheeler, now on the Tri Glide loaded down you needed a little bump.
To stay on the road… of course I would drive one. 👍👍
The only way to go for a trike is a DFT CONVERSION KIT IT HAS INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION WITH FOUR COILOVER SHOCKS.
Prefer a good sidecar outfit over any trike…
Don’t know why, but I never got warm with the look and how they behave on the road.
2009??? i have a factory shovel trike in my garage. its called a servi car. trikes been around since the knuckle days at least
I have 2020freewheeler has big bore kit 128 have done heaps of other mods to but I ride it an keep up with other bikes 😊
Best of luck!
I love my 2011yes a bit shy on power but it gets the job done all factory ride am doing a 4000 mile trip to NM and back home
thank you, I needed this, what about the Harley cams?
Spot on that 103 in a trike was a dog I had a friend that had one we put his ass in the back Grest guy but he was always in the way 😢
That 103 just didn't have what it needed stock to pull that kinda weight around!
I remember the old Servi Car 3 wheelers . Police used them in the tube radio days How does the Tri Glide compare mechanically ?
If I could afford one I would ride it👍🏼
They sure are getting popular around Houston. I don't think they are for me but ya never know.
Out in Arizona also. Rarely saw trikes in California, but in the last 5 years tons of trikes. I think it is because their are less younger people interested in riding and the riding generation, if you will, are social security age. At least that is my hypotheses.
I've been riding Harleys for over 60 years. Can't see myself ever riding a trike. My sister rides one. She likes it.
