  • Our 3rd video using the latest power meter pedals to see how the ZiZZO Liberte did compare to a Carbon Road Bike, Full Suspension MTB, and a lightweight Gravel Bike. This time we had the same rider on the same 2.6 mile mountain road that averages 6% gradient hold 250 watts avg on all 4 bikes to see which one came out on top. Results may not surprise but we discussed at the end.
Used but well maintained bikes for test.
Road bike: LOOK KG 461 carbon frame with all 1 yr old Shimano 105 groupset. Cadex 28mm tubeless /Shimano Ultegra wheels 80 psi.
Giant Revolt 2 (2020) model gravel bike stock with 42 mm med tread WTB Rattlers 60 psi.
Santa Cruz full suspension mountain bike 30 psi Maxxis tires
    Wahoo POWRLINK Zero Power Pedals

I ride a zizzo everyday going to work and I pass up road bikes all the time. 😁

Hello! Of course the rider is all the difference but we made it an even competition using same rider with same watts to see what would happen. Thanks and we enjoy all your videos!-Beau

this is awesome to see that the zizzo bike can holdup with regular bikes. Just like you said my main qualm with buying a small folding bike is that the small wheels would cause worse performance. thankfully it's shown that's not the case at all.
Y'all should do a full performance comparison/description between all the models. I'm having a tough time deciding which one to get. Atm My hearts set on the zizzo brand, I just don't know which one to buy

Hey @kwraProjVids! Thank you for your comment. Give us a call at 866-788-2202 or shoot us an email at support@zizzo.bike. We can go over the differences between the different models and narrow down a perfect bike for you!
Some things to keep in mind when looking for a bike:
Where (terrain) you would/do ride in
      Frequency of riding (weekly/monthly)
Type of rider you are: Fun/casual, fitness, training, commuting, etc
What are your goals with riding?
Where do you see your self in 6 months? A year from now?
We look forward to speaking with you!
      Tony

Hi and thanks for your question! No, the tires were not changed for this experiment. We used the stock tires that come with the Liberte.

I own 2 Libertes, and my wife and I enjoy them. But you should have talked about the variables that could've skued the results. So we're left wondering if your test is legit. Did your rider use each bike's optimal gearing? Also you should have shown and talked about the other bikes. We wanted to see that they are quality bikes, have good components that are working well, and that their tires are pumped up. That would've gone a long way to lending credibility.
I get it, you're trying to sell these fun, light and easily transportable bikes. I enjoy them too. But unfortunately, this video comes off like a smoke and mirrors act, even if it isn't.

Hello WX! Thanks for watching the video. I was the rider and videographer of this project. Our goal here was to see where the Liberte fit in with the SAME EFFORT by the SAME RIDER on the SAME COURSE. We had no expectations to beat a road bike but we were curious to see how far off or how close it could get. These are my personal bikes and the Wahoo POWRLINK Zero Power Pedals that I changed in and out for each ride/bike that day. Maybe we went too fast but by the pictures we provided we hoped people would get the general idea that all of these bikes are well over $1000 and have been kept up by an avid cyclist. Road bike: LOOK KG 461 carbon frame with all 1 yr old Shimano 105 groupset. 28mm tubeless Shimano Ultegra wheels 80 psi. Giant Revolt 2 (2020) model gravel bike stock with 42 mm med tread WTB Rattlers 60 psi. Santa Cruz full suspension mountain bike 30 psi Maxxis. The power meters were used to show the effort I gave was as equal as possible on each bike. at the 2:16 -2:31 mark you will see my personal screen shots from my Strava with the wattage. It is not easy to nail down an exact wattage. Trying to hold it on a climb is especially difficult with fluctuations in gradient. The plan was to hold 250 watts on all 4 bikes and nailed the road bike but was a tad off on the others but not enough to really change the times. As far as "optimal gearing" goes this effort was about holding 250 watts avg at whatever was a comfortable cadence I could get in. You can see on the Strava screen shot 70,76,77,76 avg rpms for each bike.
The road bike I did nail 250 watts exactly and the Liberte was 3 watts more. That time wasn't going to change much with 3"bonus watts". The gravel bike was 7 watts short of 250 and the mountain bike was 12 watts short. I had a tough time holding 250 with the mnt bike as it is a beast weighing over 30lbs and I was tired. So we can give "back" about 40 seconds to the mountain bike. In conclusion obviously we are comparing 4 very different bikes with many variables. Each bike is specific for it's type of riding. The mountain bike is made for just that and will never be as efficient as a road bike on the road or vice versa. We like to say that the ZiZZO is the "All Around Bike" and on the road and some dirt trails can do a great job as I am sure you already know. We are looking to get in our hands some other folding bike brands you may have heard of and do the same kind of test. I will take your comments in consideration on a future video to be more detailed when showing the "competitors". Thanks again for the feedback and we are happy you are enjoying your Libertes! Happy Pedaling! -Beau
