The new driver will think heck yeah that's a great trip. Then they'll drive back empty for 2.5 hours and complain like a bitch 😒 and have regrets when they're burning gas on the return empty. Round trip is 5 hours for less than $20/hr and then factor in cost of gas or ev charge. This is less than .50cents per mile.
Bro, calculate return fare as well. Because you went out the city and I am pretty much sure that you might not received a request while coming back.....never take long rides specially ending no where in the woods or small towns.....your day is exhausted then.
@@SFioniqDriver yes in NYC Uber/Lyft have to pay a minimum rate imposed by the TLC (Taxi and Limousine Commission. I think it comes out to about $21 or $22 an hour...I forgot the exact amount. This was important cause unlike most other parts of the country drivers in NYC have to get a special expensive license renewable every three years plus pay for yearly drug test, special courses etc and have a special expensive insurance to pick up street hails (yellow taxi) or work for rideshare. If left to Uber/Lyft driver pay would continue to tank. Thanks to these laws drivers can hit $250 in about 7 to 8 hours. Driver pay is expected to go up a certain percent every year I believe. Drivers are also allowed to reject any ride they don't deem profitable. Unlike Uber, Lyft now actually shows both pick up and drop off locations with distance and drivers are free to reject or accept that trip.
There was a push at the federal level to classify gig workers as employees but that died. In California the last prop 22 appeal was overturned. The next step in for the California Supreme Court to make a ruling.
Maybe we need local governments to run their own rideshare program similar to bus or trains. I've read of at least one area that implemented something like this.
Driving with ride share company is not woth it any more. I am driver for 10year. Dude better to drive taxi and you'll make more mony or change ur profession... drivers are ripped by those giant's
Every market is different. I think in my market there in San Francisco it's still busy enough where I can cherry pick and still make a good hourly average.
this is why I left it. I have another very similar offer from Uber and it was for $135. This is to educate drivers not to accept these low offers as it's taking advantage of drivers.
@familytabrizi76 I do get it. My point is drivers should not accept these offers. When no one accepts the offer then the rider trip will not be matched. The only reason a trip like this makes sense if the driver is going in that direction.
A new driver who has no idea they’re getting ripped off will take this lol. That’s why these companies spend so much money recruiting new drivers

Absolutely!! No long trips folks...
Lyft is probably charging the rider $200 for this😢
The power of being able to say "No" and move on. free market
Even with the old rate card, that trip still wouldn't be worth taking.

Uber is ripping everybody off
That’s why I quit driving for Uber/lyft. After Lyft reduced the pay on Lux and then just did away with lux…these companies are horrible
Which marker are you from
Damn that's about $250 in NYC. Then there would be out of state surcharge and tolls etc, bringing it close to $300ish.
I read NYC received a new rate with city support. We need that everywhere. Prop 22 here is limiting our ability to receive an increase.

No joke,
That's why it hasn't matched with a driver. This gives me some home that there are smart drivers out there. Decline trash.
Only when Congress steps in,will it change

We need a new app that just offers rides but treats the drivers properly. THe CEOs make tens of millions every year
Maybe we need local governments to run their own rideshare program similar to bus or trains. I've read of at least one area that implemented something like this.
Just don’t accept long trips less then 1 dollar per mile for short trips 50 cents per minute
I feel so bad for new drivers if they take it I will not take it for $220.00 don’t forget you will come back with no one only you and your car
I'll take it i'm broke
Terrible why it’s like that not fair

Lyft does all the investment, what's your investment a" car'. Be happy don't blame anyone for your failure.
Love it or leave it.
