Hi Guys from a dry and sunny Alicante about 1000 miles south of you. The sun will shine soon and it will be very hot, good job with the fence, keep your spirts up and take care of each other.
I've only ever had three cats, love them they have their own minds. One young cat was memorable.. I was getting ready for work and seen a small cat on neighbours windowsill. Came back from work and it was raining hard and heard a cat crying at garage door. I took her in and rang all the vets and cats protection charity's no-one reported their little cat missing. I called her Tink for a little tinker she had no tail a beautiful light grey colour and her party piece was sitting upright on her bum bum. She was the boss we had a big German shepherd dog, he was loving he knew she was the boss after a few scraps from Tinks paws.
Keep going guys keep strong. My Tink my little cat would sleep with my big gentle giant Finn my German shepherd amazing dog. I would find them cuddled up together in Mr Finn's shed. They cared for each other, it was amazing to witness. ❤
Can always rely on my uncle to provide content to watch on a Sunday, dad would’ve absolutely loved this he’s proud of us all, hopefully me and the family can come over soon and help. Miss you both ❤❤
Mrs bloke I love the gentle calm way you speak, and that you don’t mind getting your hands dirty and your back into it. Every step no matter how difficult brings you closer to how you want it to be, even though it may be uncomfortable right now, especially with all that rain. Just think how lush and green everything will be, your building good memories together. And just think of the feeling of achievement as you complete each task. Just Like your lovely fence. And once planting can take place it will soften the edges and be beautiful. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I love watching your progress and so excited for you to make progress so you can move there full time. Look into berms and swells to help capture and divert the water. Not sure if there are been and swell engineers in France but there are a few homesteaders here in the USA that have used it successfully.
Love your butt down comment, wow, what a muddy mess. The lack of gutters are a huge part of the problem. It also looks like the soil is totally waterlogged. Great effort from both of you, you kept at it.👍❤
If you could find a different bucket for your tractor, one with a scraper blade instead of hay tines you could significantly cut down your efforts to clear your farmyard.
This unexpected hazy frosty landscape after the mud party was so amazing 😍 The stream has been diverted away, the power kicks in, the cow shed roof no longer seems ready to collapse, what a progress ! Congratulations 👍
I take my hat off to you, water and mud is a curse, get a nice culvert dugout and get it drained, life will be more comfortable then, its great you both get involved, these early days are hard work, but! Once the property is dried out with drainage life will be so much easier for you both, good luck and thanks for sharing your progress.
You Two are amazing just getting stuck right in there mud and every thing well done to you both and there will be hard times guys but stick in there pardon the pun 😉 it will all be worth it in the end remember its not a sprint its a marathon that you will win and well done on the roof raising guys all the best Budo & Tracy xx
Getting that roof straightened took away the derelict appearance of the whole place. I know it's muddy but is it possible to put up some of the tin to form a shade over the house. If you had an awning along the house the rain couldn't do so much damage. Hard to tell from the videos - never mind ---you'll get it sorted. We're cheering you on.
When my parents bought an old cattle feedlot in 1986, where the cattle once were we ended up knee deep in manure our first winter. Two years later we grew the biggest vegetables you've ever seen, and we can still get loads of edible mushrooms that come up some years.👍
You can use the back of the bucket on the tractor to pull the mud away from your house to stop the water seeping in. And you can use the bucket of the tractor to cart gravel onto the drive
The bucket only goes up and down, it's broken as far as being able to manipulate the bucket like we could when we rented the digger :). But yes, the tractor will be useful for other projects - like cutting lawn in the summer!!!!! But the tractor desperately needs a service - and we can't get it serviced until we get it street legal and we couldn't do that until we get an electric bill to show residency! And it goes on and on but everything is moving forward - a snails pace but forward!!! (Mrs.Bloke)
You dont need the tractor street legal if it does not go off the farm. You only need it to run and drive. Ask you neighbour or a local farmer for the name of a fitter who will come to you to do the service and any repairs for you. There is always someone local that does servicing. It looks to be breathing hard but as long as it has oil and water it will run for years if not hammered too hard. Look at the state of Chateaux La Lacelles tractor as an example. Getting the bucket sorted will make a big difference. Hope it dries a bit soon. Soon be spring. 🙂 ATB regards from the UK
Yes, we have been searching for someone to come out to the farm! We have one lead so far, just have to get to the place because a phone call with my Beginner French is out of the question!! Thanks for your support - we love the tractor and can't wait to get it working 100%!! (Mrs. Bloke)
@@mrbloke The French regulations are so tough & complicated but you’ve done so well so far! Step by stupid step and you’ll get there. 😘The farmers in the area will usually help you, maybe they can make some calls for you if you can find one who understands English a bit. Can’t hurt to ask😊
Wow! I bet you are going to find more great stones and who knows else - a couple of archaeologists having fun!! The silver winter sun shots are beautiful. Laundry fun for the couple Bloke!
Nice dump ;-), We bought one too hahaha! We had loads of rain aswell with all the good and bad things that come with it, but tomorrow the sun should shine 🙂Good luck with bringing the dump up to scratch! We will be watching from time to time!
So many incredible cinematic shots integrated into this story of your humbling journey. Keeps getting better. You have found your niche! Enjoying from Wisconsin, USA
I do know how you guys feel right now. I did the same thing a few years ago. Advice with the French drain - try and get it long enough to drain into the stream. You probably know that already. And be careful with yourselves - I did all of it by hand and ended up with a frozen shoulder. Well done. 👍👍👍
I would suggest that you get the use of some surveying equipment or if possible a survey of your property topography so that you can create a swaile to evacuate the water farther away from your house. From what I perceive your surrounding property from the field side seems to be sloped towards the house, hence the large amount of water settling around the house foundations. Not sure of property relationship to the compass points, it looks like you need a swaile to the east towards to solve your drainage issues. Keep on, crack on!
We think to the East and the South berms/swales will be good to redirect the water and of course adding in those French drains will help - and gutters! All in due time, thanks for your input - we will take a good look at the East side of the property tomorrow :). (Mrs. Bloke)
Oh my goodness !!! you two are sort of mud Angels😂 but your doing an amazing Job well done ,what a beautiful frosty/ misty and finaly sunshine filled with energy😊
Hi Mr Bloke and wife. Dave & Lynn, I know just how you feel as this is where we were a few years back, but I cleared the full length of the house about 2 meters wide and roughly 1-2 feet down then dug a trench and put a concrete footing in to use large stone boulders which I had dug out. To forum a retaining wall then I went to the query in Vire coming from the main shopping centre as you go under the railway bridge you turn sharp left and up the hill am sure you can still order large mixed size stone by the wagon load as we did spreading it as you two are with the use of our wheel barrow’s then afterwards we put down a layer of green material which allows the rain fall water to soak away before blinding this with small gravel so as it’s easy under foot and we where then able to walk and work even in a down purring of rain without getting so full of mud 😂
It must have been so hard for you both the past week or so. All that water & mud. I bet you can't wait to get the gutters installed. The house looks so much better with the overhand straightened out & supported. Great free doors. Yay for electricity. One step at a time. The music was a great choice to go with the video.
Oh Mr Bloke, everyday I look at the weather there and I’m so upset for you both I could just cry. That was me said it will get better and I swear it still will! This is Extremely unusual! You’re getting lots of “suggestions” on here from people who do mean well I’m sure, just some of them are a bit preachy. Prob won’t stop but don’t feel obliged to respond with anything but a ❤. Your photography is beautiful and so is your property. Hang in there. We’re all with you❤❤❤
Do you recall when you were a child and would have loved to be playing in the mud this way ? What where we thinking? And people still pay hundreds at spas . I think you need more than gutters and French drains. I’d be looking at getting an engineer in to assess for regrading the land for proper water drainage.
That was beautiful! Honest, humbling, uplifting - all those good things! Another variant on The Hero's Journey perhaps. Only that straight cow shed - somehow doesn't look natural.)
I'm loving your music, well thought out to whatever you're doing. It will get better as another viewer said (even if the cow on your first morning drive thinks differently lol). x
Lovely, lovely lovely, the camera tells much more than words. Having said that I would like a transcript though music choice is great. Keep on keeping on.
Great progress again, you both look like you're working hard, but with a great attitude. Really great seeing you getting things done, even in the mud. Congratulations on getting your electrics connected.👍❤
Two words....French Trench. As my dad said to me when I was off to serve my tour of duty in Viet Nam...."Son....some day you'll look back on this and laugh..." I'm not sure about the laughing part but there is satisfaction in facing and overcoming obstacles in life. Fight the good fight.
Great to see you again Dr. Skip! There were times as I dug those ditches I thought of all soldiers - WWII still very much alive in the memories of the towns and land here...there are no words - only complete respect, deep thought, humility, honour and gratitude. Thank you for your service in Vietnam 😔🙏..... (Mrs. Bloke)
Would this be the appropriate time to review the exact measurements of a "cubit"? Just in case you feel the urge to build an ark. It seems like information worth knowing. Lol! Remember these moments for summer when you get no rain for a month.
In your opening comments, I noticed that several trees had a certain amount of greenery wrapped around the trunk and up amongst the branches. Is that a result of excessive creeper growth or is it regrowth of the twigs. If it’s the former, I suggest that you take some steps to kill off the creeper at ground, Level to prevent the creeper strangling the complete tree. At the moment I’m laughing my head off, watching the two of you mud, locking around, trying to create drainage.
You would be able to scrape the mud from the front of your house, move the gravel from the heap to the driveway, and all manner of tasks, I wouldn't be without one ,it's invaluable.
Yes, we agree! The tractor is actually broken as in it will go up and down (the bucket) but it doesn't dump. Additionally the tractor is in desperate need of a service. We are hot on the case to get someone out to the property to service it - we have found that everything takes so much longer here for us....We were able to manually turn the bucket and rest it down and tie it with twine - we didn't show that in the video but perhaps we talk about the tractor next week :). Thanks for watching! (Mrs. Bloke)
Hey really enjoy your videos its great to see you working as a team and we are never more happier then when we are knee deep in mud ❤❤ bon dimanche xxx
wouldn't take that much effort to brace that barn/shed roof so the tractor can get out without hitting it. Enjoy your electricity, it's not called a modern convenience for nothing. Nothing like challenges to show you the strength of character you have!
Always a good watch for but you really need to fit guttering and channel the run off away from the house , then buy the big IBC container to store water for your produce .
At least you know how the water will flow now 😀 great work on the shed roof it looks much better. Is it possible to make one room weather tight so you have somewhere to warm up?
working on it - the room to get warm, thanks for the support! And we actually feel blessed to be able to see the drainage issue now so we can make all the correction before we get started on the main house! (Mrs. Bloke)
I do feel for you all the rain we’ve had loads of rain here in the uk these last few months, it can get you down and I don’t have to do renovations in it as you do
You have a tractor, Why not use it to scoop up the mud and move it elsewhere. You will be there until next year trying to do tasks like this with a shovel and a wheelbarrow.....
I really can't understand why you haven't bought a caravan with all the comforts and warmth for your needs. The money you are paying in rent is just wasted revenue...buying a caravan is not expensive, cheaper than rent and you can reap money back when you sell it..
We have 5 cats (I brought them from the US) - they are outdoor during the day and indoor at night. With all the mud and cat territory issues, all 7 of us in a caravan would be a nightmare! The cow poo alone all over everything from the cats tracking it in, the nonstop rain, and cold wouldn't be good for morale, and we need our morale!!! We considered a caravan, and a yurt- but went for the "forge ahead and get something built" option! Both Mr. Bloke and myself have spent time living in caravans and for this project it just wasn't going to be a good option but we appreciate your concern and input! I am a tough cookie, but I have to say I am enjoying the fire and hot shower and refrigerator at the end of each day in the cottage! But yes, we need to move on this project as a rental was not in the budget!! ❤️ (Mrs. Bloke)
It's a dump now but you have to look beyond that and see what they can make it. I can imagine by the enthusiasm you both have got the end home/farmstead will be amazing, I have faith that the land will pay you back for all your hard work come the end. I know it's hard when the days are at their worst, just remember what you envisaged when you first saw it 👌🫶🇬🇧
LOOKS LIKE TIME FOR A LOT OF FRENCH DRAINS.
It's January 4th. Just checking in on you guys , anxious for your return .....
Happy New Year Judyfudge...We should have a new video out on Sunday❤️
Wonderful. Pray ya'll are doing well

We certainly will ❤️Thank you
Beautiful video , Yall are very hard workers , In the end , I know it will be a beautiful place . God Bless .
You guys have had some terrible weather, beautiful countryside, keep plugging away
👍❤️
Great video! I admire both of you.
Thank you so much!
You could use the metal fence lengths you took down as temporary gutters
Unfortunately too heavy.
Mud, mud, and more mud!!! The rain will stop sooner or later!

Fair play to both of you, you are getting your hands dirty and grafting hard. Itll se so worth it though, the house and land are beautiful.

You both are not afraid to get your hands dirty, keep it up and what a place your home is going to be the power couple 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
get that tractor fixed ASAP and get a backhoe attachment and a front end loaderinstalled. you guys will need this now.
Will do!!
you both deserve the Queens Medal for Gallantry. Keep at it, you'll look back and laugh once its done
Just subscribed, Great content.
Thank you.
You guys rock! You capture beautiful scenery & music, while slinging mud, diverting water & holding up the sky! Bravo 🙌 🎉❤❣️
Thanks so much!❤️
Yay the roof is raised!
If you could find a different bucket for your tractor, one with a scraper blade instead of hay tines you could significantly cut down your efforts to clear your farmyard.
Mrs Bloke ask Budo for help fixing the tractor he has a few old ones and Tracey will help with the french for parts
what a difference raising the sagging beam makes! Coming along!
Hello from PEI Canada. A dramatic change in the roof line. Wow
This unexpected hazy frosty landscape after the mud party was so amazing 😍
The stream has been diverted away, the power kicks in, the cow shed roof no longer seems ready to collapse, what a progress ! Congratulations 👍
Much appreciated! Merci!!🙏

Thank you❤️
Great start to the renovation journey, impressed with the channel so far
Much appreciated!

The weather, as you also know, has been relentless! We all march on!!!!!❤️
THE amount of work you have to do, a mini digger will be a good investment . you can always sell it when you have finished
I will definitely ask "Santa" - it is on my Wishlist! (Mrs. Bloke!)🤣😜

But on a positive note I so admire your work ethic.....and your channel!
I love how precise your weather forecasts are.
It’s all making sense. Good job. ❤

Despite the obstacles 🌧️🌨️⛈️🌦️🙄 you guys are killing it!! 🤗
Geez! It’s hard not to feel down with the endless rain and mud . You guys you’re still making progress
You are doing well, using a ditching spade to create ditches. From near Wilmington, Devon, UK.
Why not buy a membrane for drive before you put your gravel down on driveway.
Feel a bit guilty watching this from sunny Perth Aust
👏👏👏👏👏🇪🇦🇮🇨

I'm Jealous!!!!!!!😝 (Mrs. Bloke!)
Where are your cats?
Warm, safe, dry and clean in our rental cottage.
Why aren’t you moving materials with the tractor.?
Needs a lot of repairs!!
You have a tractor, Why not use it to scoop up the mud and move it elsewhere. You will be there until next year trying to do tasks like this with a shovel and a wheelbarrow.....
The tractor barely works. Needs some major TLC. We're working on it.
You both are working really hard but instead of hireing a digger could you of not used the tractor
❤️ (Mrs. Bloke)
Mancano I sottotitoli
start investing in machinery. stop manhandleing these large projects. it will save time and money and your body.
It's a dump all right! I don't understand why you won't buy or use better equipment? Seriously depressing to watch at 3am!
Our budget is small but our Spirits are large! Not depressing, hang in there, we will make this place beautiful!!!!❤️!
❤❤❤❤
Doors, wonderful!!!
Old tractors unfortunately do not come with directions!
Unbelievable!
