I started to feel a heartbroken sense of loss, then quickly realized that it's not about me. You guys did wonders with that place and you can carry that pride with you on your next chapter. Your positive attitude will serve you well. I'm looking forward to your future.
I have SO enjoyed your channel and I hope you find a new and better dream soon. Your Spirits have been a blessing to me. I wish I could help you find your new best thing. Lifting you up in love and light.
Sitting here in Perth WA recovering from cardiac surgery, your story makes me realise even more that life throws us curve balls and then we move on. Have enjoyed watching this adventure and I’m sure you will continue to have many more.
Thank you. I can’t imagine how complicated and confusing its been for you and the cats. May the next part of the journey bring fair winds and easier sailing. Regards from Australia.
We are so sorry ❤ we will keep following you two no matter where you go. Sending you good vibes and wish you all the very best. ❤❤ keep the dream alive ❤
@mrbloke we are happy that you are both well and that you had such an amazing experience! More adventures await and no matter what you will always have France in your hearts ❤️❤️ we both have been so inspired by your journey and spirit! We look forward to the next chapter and what's to come! Take care and hugs to the cats ❤️❤️🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
So sorry this dream ended for you. I have loved watching this small chapter of your life unfold and wish you both (and the cats) all the very best for your undoubtedly exciting new chapter. Love n' hugs Angie xxx
Oh fuck , im sitting here in tears. I too am a cat lover and owner, my cats would have loved your bit of land in France. I wish I was rich and famous, I'd give you a million bucks. I'm just a poor old woman, that was afraid to live my dreams. You two are rich, maybe not in money, but in living your dream. God bless and please keep posting. Xoxo Chef Annie
Such very sad news 😢. You have both worked so hard toward your dreams! But you two beautiful souls will renew, refresh & rebuild a new life with love & purpose in your hearts and we will be right there with you❣️🌱🌻✨
Your journey and energy has been so motivating, the main thing is you tried it, it won’t just be a dream that you never embraced, life is challenging renovating a property especially in a foreign country with great highs and lows, I am living it, and you have absolutely embraced that dream, I hope you sell quickly so you can move to the next adventure which I hope you share with us xxx
Tears came to my eyes. Snapped out of it and realized what a wonderful year you two had and I myself watching your weekly updates. I will continue to look forward to your future endeavors. Big hug to both and lots of love from Florida.
Hello. I saw and commented on your second post in Havre de Grace Maryland and just watched your original backstory. Excellent job communicating on your plan and experience. Although I’m currently living in a historic farmhouse in Cape May, I’m originally from Annapolis and sailed the Chesapeake for many years. I visit France every year sometimes twice a year. Last year I backpacked from paris, Saint Malo, Brittany, Mount Saint Michelle, Angers, Honflour, Caen, Normandy, Issy les Moulineaux, Paris and home taking local trains, buses and walking everywhere while staying in prearranged airbnbs. You are an inspiration to many who have wonder lust. Havre de Grace is a lovely town, at the mouth of the Susquehanna river entering the Chesapeake. Maybe not France but definitely a beautiful place offering wonderful experiences. Best of all, you have each other. I was 73 when I made that trip and i’m now living with my rescued Frenchie Gigi for whom Im grateful. Don’t get discouraged and please continue posting your new adventures in Maryland. All best…Joe and Gigi, Cape May
I am saddened to hear that your life in France didn’t work out. However your next adventure is sure to be awesome as you go into them with such positivity. Please look after yourselves and do continue the channel. Perhaps you could name it ‘We sold a home in France’!! With big hugs and heartfelt prayers for a bright future. Stay safe.
Slightly heartbroken for you, it’s so hard to lose your dream. You both have an amazing outlook, throughout all that rain and mud you persevered. Slowly but surely getting through and making a liveable space. I have no doubt your next adventure will be just as amazing ❤
Watching this time lapse made me want to cry. Good times and not-so-good times. Your hard work over the past year, in a winter and spring of drenching rain, was something to admire - from reclaiming wood, to putting in recycled windows and doors (beautiful), to putting in insulation, to digging out (tons!) animal poop, to seeing chubbier cats walking with you on your land.Waiting for your next 'dump!' Best wishes from California.
We can't express how sad we are for you after all the hard work you have put in to your home and your obvious love for France. We have thoroughly enjoyed watching your vlogs and wish you lots of luck and happiness for the future. Best wishes to you.
We are gutted you cant finish the French dream, but as you said you are creators and one door closes another one opens. we look forward to seeing another wonderful project we know you will achieve. All the best xx
You are one of my favourite Channels. I loved how you showed your first part of your Journey and not just the building. I will continue to follow you both and will look forward to seeing what you both get up to next. Don't be too long between videos, only if it's just to say a Hello Video.Hope you find your next Creative Dream soon. All the Best.
All the best to you both. This will be our second year in our maison in Central loir.we are coming over for 10 weeks. I can honestly say that buying a property in francaise is the best decision we have made. We was over in march and gosh there was flooding in the indre district.
You have worked so hard, I feel your pain. I so enjoyed your progress every week as I practically live in the same area. I wish you and the catkins all the very best.xx
Yep, I was gutted at the end too. You both did fantastic team work and hard yakka. I guess God has another plan for you. No, I’m not trying to give words of wisdom, just saying what just spoke to me. And hey, if I win Lotto or Powerball I’ll look for you. You have my word. Greetings from Australia. Big hugs. ‘Too infinity and beyoooooooooond’.
The 'French Episode' of your journey through life has ended. Let it be known that you have created something worthwhile - the ability to attract diverse persons throughout the world, to watch your endeavours, week after week, to somehow be a part in your lives. We comment, we thumbs up, we laugh, we watch in eager anticipation. And so now, we wait again, for the beginning of your next episode. We are with you, every step of the way. Whatever life brings for you, we'll be here, waiting. Thank you and God Speed. Keep safe.
I am so sad. I’ve enjoyed watching you both take a mess and create something beautiful up of it. One of my favorite occupations in life.😮Bon voyage, for now.
Im so sorry to hear you say you are selling up. Just so distressing. Hopefully, one day you'll return again. Its France's loss. On another note, Cheasapeake Bay sounds glorious.
I like your style and "voice" in film editing. This made me sad, but I think it's incredibly useful to put out there for others who are ready to launch similar dreams. So many Americans are moving to the EU w/ no real clue of the incredible bureaucracy there. I have friends, who are natives, living in France & Italy that complain and throw their hands in the air over all the insane hurdles to do even simple/logical things. You are not alone. I do hope you find a new place soon and welcome back home new neighbor (I'm in DC). 🙂
Thank you, and we agree that we felt this was useful to anyone thinking of doing the same thing! The bureaucracy is definitely alot.... for example We got cell phones in the US in 1 hour - in France it took us 3 trips to the cell phone place, each time needing a new piece of paper, and even a letter from the MAYOR!!! no joke! Thank you for your lovely comment neighbour! (Mrs. Bloke)
Oh no........ I am just so extremely sorry!!!!!!!! I love your channel and the journey so much and watched from the very beginning 😭 Please don't stop making videos, because I believe that whatever path you're on, will be amazing!!!!!! Love Rinatha (South African living in Canada)
Always think of the happy times you had in France and that you shared them by making a wonderful video. When I saw your lovely cats walking in the grass with you I thought what a great adventure they had too. My Grannie had a lovely big black cat that lived until she was 21! She was named Elsie! Have a superb time back in the USA! Best wishes Jenny
The most beautiful thing is that you have your soulmate. You have made a fantastic memory together, albeit bitter sweet. You make fantastic content, I hope that UTube starts paying off for you to help you achieve your next goal without financial worry. Keep us with you on your journey please. ❤
Oh no!! I can't believe you had to go back! I didn't realise you couldn't make the visas work - really gutted for you 😥 Also really sad I won't get to see you finish the project, as I know you would have made a superb job of it all. Sending you much love and wishing you all the best. ❤
Thank you❤️We're really sad we don't get to finish what we started, but someone will and hopefully they will share with us, so we can share with you the results❤️
Soo many words pop up in our minds which aren't the most flattering 😅😅 I hope the sale goes well and you come out financially for the better + a experience nobody can take away. We have made a choice similar as yours to move and in our mind even if it doesn't work out later you wont have regret by not trying and only thinking about it! We are eager to see where you will end up next! Sad for France that you are leaving but good for the US that you are returning 😘
You left the world better than when you found it. That is truly part of life’s mission. The lessons you have learnt are incredible, you have the ability to do anything you set your mind to. Can’t wait to continue with you on your next adventure
Old door close but new doors alway open . There are so many old homes in need of some love in the USA , some even look like small Chateaus I see them on Instagram. But what yes Visa's in most countries are tricky . And unless u brought a Chateau and intend to start retreats up or BnB s , getting a Visa for just working unless u get a job offer or u a Doctor , it's very hard . But look forward to your next adventure ❤❤ I feel for u both u worked so very hard but I hope someone sees that place and keeps up the work u started . ❤❤
Wow! I found your channel and have loved watching your beautiful souls transform the land and the house. While the end of this chapter is bittersweet, your hearts have experienced great joys and your mind has learned new skills. This will undoubtedly lead you to a new adventure and I hope to continue to watch. You two are so lovely as a team.
What an experience ! Both joy and anguish…such is life. It was a pleasure to watch part of your journey. I know you will make the most of whatever is ahead! You both have the heart and strength for it. Best wishes!
Oh gosh. I am so gutted. That is brutal. Anyway you had a fabulous year and now have wonderful, special memories. You take your own magic with you wherever you go: “And at home by the fire, whenever you look up there I shall be- and whenever I look up, there will be you. -Gabriel Oak” ― Thomas Hardy, Far From the Madding Crowd
You have been amazing and motivational. Thank you SO much for sharing your adventure. Please keep us in the loop for the next one. We will miss you and your work and your plans and the day trips and the music and the meals and Olivier and and and..... Wishing you the very very best.
Life is full of precious moments and experiences. Having lived a French experience for many years myself, there does, as you say, come a time to change direction. You two have creativity, passion and boundless imagination. All the best with your next voyage. ❤
In a short space of time you both have achieved such a lot, it is sad to hear you are leaving and selling up. I wish you both all the best for the future. ♥
Like many comments from other followers, I too was feeling sad and heart-broken, but looking back over your year in France I see what a wonderful opportunity it was for you both. Remember the joys and take this with you on your next adventure. I can’t wait to follow you again. Love to you both. ❤
We’ll stay by your side no matter what! 🫶…. What a wonderful and challenging adventure this French chapter was! Thank you so much for sharing every exhausting step with us. 😅 Looking forward to new shenanigans in the US. I’m sure there’ll be a place that needs your loving attention & will be a bit more accommodating and easy on you in return. Lots of love & bon courage! 🤗❤️🙏
I'm so sorry for your loss. Maybe it's not never again, maybe it's next time will be better. Two steps forward, one step back. Sending hugs to you and your fur babies.
I Missed you Mr and Lady Bloke its so easy to forget the work load you took on and finished its amazing its important to keep a record in these videos as you say this is just the start of your journey please keep in touch love you both just one small link in your 14.4K subscribers i miss you all ready DD.
France doesn't deserve two wonderful people like you! I know wherever you end up you'll achieve many wonderful things and I hope you will let us come along for the journey❤ Bon Voyage!
I am so very sorry. May the winds be kind and blow you to a new destination that you'll love and adopt as your own. Perhaps a quiet beach in Oregon, or a mountain cabin in Colorado, or a lively little farm in Kentucky...the possibilities are endless. If foreign climes still call you, there is a huge world out there. A croft in the Hebrides, a cottage in Ireland, a village in Croatia. Keep dreaming, keep searching, it's out there.
Many many years ago I had the opportunity to do something similar in france. Leaving was so hard but now, almost 30yrs later I look at what we achieved, the strengths and skills we found and learnt and look back on that time with nothing but the best memories. Like everything else in life, the seasons change and we move forward. Best of luck for your future, I hope we get to see some of it here. Thank you for sharing the past year or so, it has been great to follow.
Ci dispiace tanto che abbiate dovuto abbandonare il vostro progetto francese. Vi seguivamo con simpatia e ammirazione. Speriamo di vedervi presto all’opera con un altro progetto. In bocca al lupo!!
Well, you had a cracking go at it and should be immensely proud of yourselves. Your innate optimism is infectious and I look forward to the next adventure. All the best.
This is such a beautiful review of your incredible year in France... 😍 look at alllll the fabulous places you saw, food you enjoyed, people you met, skills you learned, spaces you created, and look at those happy kitties traipsing around the epic landscape... 😻🏞️🐾🐾 You've packed so much life into a year and made so many memories... vive la vie! It will all serve you as you roll onward and find another place to make home. Love from Topsail! 🥰🏖️😘😘😽
Oh my gosh, I would always be clicking h to make sure I did not miss your updates (even with the notification bell) and will still keep looking for you. Wishing you all the best with your new chapters, keep in touch, and don’t forget us. ❤
I held off and chose not to read comments until the end, fearing there would not be a happy ending. I hope you both have no regrets. I’ve enjoyed traveling vicariously, and have tremendous admiration for your work ethic, perseverance and positive attitude. Looking forward to the next adventure, hopefully in a drier, warmer climate.
That’s so sad. I’m a things happen for a reason believer; that’s all that’s kept me going in trying times. I’ve tried to take something from every experience good or bad, I think ok what can I learn from this. Thinking of you and the kitties at this trying time. Sheila from Shropshire.
i didnt realise that this episode was your last in France regarding your property, i was so keen on seeing you transform your 'dump' wishing you all the best in your next endeavour and hope you find a new harbour to sail into!!!
You guys have been an inspiration. You've demonstrated incredible courage, conviction and determination to just graft! Normandy threw everything at you, and you just soldiered on. As you know we're in a very similar boat here, and I totally understand the struggles you've been through. If we'd have been hit by the visa hammer we wouldn't be here either. I'm so grateful that I came to meet you that day. Very sad to not be seeing you again, but very excited to see what comes next for you! I'll definitely be following... Lots of love to you both, and to your cats. À la prochain! ❤
Thank you so much Laura❤️We're sad we had to leave but excited for what lies ahead. We're so glad you came along that day too! It was lovely to meet you and we know if we stuck around we would have been really good friends. If you ever find yourself in Maryland please hit us up❤️
You both did a wonderful job on this video, wrapping up what would have been an excrutiatingly difficult chapter into a perspective that insists on the positive aspects, treasuring the experience and finding that silver lining. You also took ownership for what did not work and that speaks highly of the type of people you are. That's real life and, we all deal with this to one degree or another at some point. There is not one person here who hasn't. We were all rooting for you, however it was not meant to be and as they say 'when you argue with reality you loose, but only 100% of the time'. And, in the end, how have we grown, what have we learned. Buddhists would say to look at it all as good... ♥️🇨🇦
So very sorry for how things turned out for you both. I’m a big believer in if things are not meant to be, they are for a good reason and that there are better things ahead in your journey together. Stay strong and be proud of taking the leap and following your dreams. We will continue to follow you for as long as you are willing to share. Take care 🤗❤
We’re so sad to hear that you both had to leave France. What a lot of work did you do. We hope you find your destiny again and we will follow your yourney
I will miss you both, what a lovely watch. Yes France too much red tape. But another adventure awaits you, can't wait to see where it leads you. Thankyou for your videos in the meantime until we all see you both again. Stay safe.
I hope you can get back to France and your property soon. It is heartbreaking news that you had to leave France and your property after putting in so much hard work. All the best for the future 😢
I started to feel a heartbroken sense of loss, then quickly realized that it's not about me. You guys did wonders with that place and you can carry that pride with you on your next chapter. Your positive attitude will serve you well. I'm looking forward to your future.

Sitting here in Perth WA recovering from cardiac surgery, your story makes me realise even more that life throws us curve balls and then we move on. Have enjoyed watching this adventure and I’m sure you will continue to have many more.

Good luck in your new venture whatever it may be. I’m looking forward to the ride!

Oh gosh. I am so gutted. That is brutal. Anyway you had a fabulous year and now have wonderful, special memories. You take your own magic with you wherever you go:
“And at home by the fire, whenever you look up there I shall be- and whenever I look up, there will be you.
-Gabriel Oak”
― Thomas Hardy, Far From the Madding Crowd
Beautiful :)

It's not the destination, it's the journey” is a quote famously attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson - Bon voyage.

Thank you❤️We will continue to share our journey❤️
Endless LOVE to you two incredible being humans. Life is such a divine adventure. Embrace it with both arms, together ❤️ 😊
Thank you❤️
I am so very sorry. Keep dreaming, keep searching, it's out there.
beautiful...thank you
Many many years ago I had the opportunity to do something similar in france.
Thank you❤️
Ci dispiace tanto che abbiate dovuto abbandonare il vostro progetto francese. Vi seguivamo con simpatia e ammirazione. Speriamo di vedervi presto all’opera con un altro progetto. In bocca al lupo!!
Thank you ❤️
I enjoyed your content very much. Wishing you nothing but good things in your future, good luck.

@@mrbloke I’m devastated for you! Go dancing in North Myrtle Beach at SOS in September. See you both there! Lots of luck.
Well, you had a cracking go at it and should be immensely proud of yourselves. Your innate optimism is infectious and I look forward to the next adventure. All the best.
Thank you❤️
This is such a beautiful review of your incredible year in France... 🥰🏖️😘😘😽

I held off and chose not to read comments until the end, fearing there would not be a happy ending. I hope you both have no regrets. I’ve enjoyed traveling
vicariously, and have tremendous admiration for your work ethic, perseverance and positive attitude. Looking forward to the next adventure, hopefully in a drier, warmer climate.
Thank you❤️
@@mrbloke And I’ve been a follower since the Mann Box days.
Good luck for the future. Look forward to following it.
Thank you❤️
That’s so sad. I’m a things happen for a reason believer; that’s all that’s kept me going in trying times. I’ve tried to take something from every experience good or bad, I think ok what can I learn from this. Thinking of you and the kitties at this trying time. Sheila from Shropshire.
Thank you Sheila❤️
Very sad to hear this. The wind carries us where it will but I will continue to watch to see where it sets you down next. Very best wishes x
Thank you❤️
Wishing you all the very best.
Thank you❤️
i didnt realise that this episode was your last in France regarding your property, i was so keen on seeing you transform your 'dump' wishing you all the best in your next endeavour and hope you find a new harbour to sail into!!!
Thank you❤️
You guys have been an inspiration.
If you ever find yourself in Maryland please hit us up❤️
Excited to see where you land!! It’s been a joy watching you this past year and I will definitely continue to follow ❤❤❤
Thank you❤️
Oh dear such a shame. Like others I will continue to follow wherever you are. Keep healthy.
Thank you❤️
I am so sorry! I so enjoyed watching your journey
Thank you❤️
You both did a wonderful job on this video, wrapping up what would have been an excrutiatingly difficult chapter into a perspective that insists on the positive aspects, treasuring the experience and finding that silver lining.
♥️🇨🇦
Thank you for you beautiful comment❤️
@@mrbloke ♥️🤗🇨🇦
So very sorry for how things turned out for you both. I’m a big believer in if things are not meant to be, they are for a good reason and that there are better things ahead in your journey together. Stay strong and be proud of taking the leap and following your dreams. We will continue to follow you for as long as you are willing to share. Take care 🤗❤
Thank you❤️
We have really enjoyed your French journey, good luck for the next stage in your life, we are looking forward to watching in the future.
Thank you❤️
It’s nice to see a part of France that’s not stained with imported sewage.
We’re so sad to hear that you both had to leave France.
What a lot of work did you do. We hope you find your destiny again and we will follow your yourney
Thank you❤️
We wish you good luck.
Thank you❤️
I will miss you both, what a lovely watch. Yes France too much red tape. But another adventure awaits you, can't wait to see where it leads you. Thankyou for your videos in the meantime until we all see you both again. Stay safe.
Thank you❤️
I hope you can get back to France and your property soon. It is heartbreaking news that you had to leave France and your property after putting in so much hard work. All the best for the future 😢
Thank you❤️
As nice as you try too be , some people just don't see that your intentions are for the better 🙌🤙🤙🤙
Oh no! ❤ to you all
