    Thanks for this video. Just learned about the shrinking issue. You confirmed what I just learned recently. That was the only issue I was having. I love your rolling pin. I have to have that.

    Why do you use oil instead of lard or butter? I love you videos btw, you explain everything so well!!

      I have used butter and coconut oil as well, but lard is hard for me to get my hands on in certain parts of the country as we travel around, so I just don't use it often. But, I am sure it would work great if not even better! Thanks so much! I am so happy to hear that!

    I can't imagine rolling out fifty tortillas. I bought a tortilla press that makes the balls of dough a flat round circle instantly.

      Lol, I hand kneaded each batch, and rolled them! Needless to say, my wrists were pretty tired the next day 😜. I used to have a tortilla press, but it broke on me (actually broke in one of my earlier videos where we made Flautas and corn salad.) Thanks for watching! 😀

    I believe the sweet beautiful point is water oil/lard or coconut oil and a little salt.
    I’ll works for you because of the fat in the milk.
    White wheat didn’t bubble as quick is the tip wait 30 seconds before first flip. You’re potentially doing the first flip too soon.

    Currently I can only use spelt fresh milled grains; do you believe they would make a good tortilla?

    • @GrainsInSmallPlaces
      @GrainsInSmallPlaces  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! Think spelt makes great tortillas, they were my second favorite! 😀

    Why don't you need the normal amount of fat that is in a regular recipe? Is there a reason? Thank you!

      I just found that the recipe I ended up on was just delicious without adding tons of fat to it!

    Why don't you put lard in your flour?

    • @GrainsInSmallPlaces
      @GrainsInSmallPlaces  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't always have access to it. But, you can sub the oil for lard in my recipe if you prefer!
