    If you are just starting and are struggling, stick with it. When i first started i would do a minute and need a five minute rest, a rub down, a pep talk and help getting to my feet. The more i did it, the less rest i needed in between sets, the longer i can go and the less i tripped on the rope. Now i do three sets of five or two sets of five and a set of ten with maybe a minute rest in between sets. I feel a lot better, have a lot more energy, sharper focus, last longer in the sack. I've never been a fitness person. I guess because I've never liked working out. I've done push ups and weights but it's not something i can say i like doing but i absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my jump rope.

      You just encouragedd me, I am working on weight loss and just got my jump rope, haven't jump roped since a kid, but would love to do it again.

    • @ContextReallyMatters
      @ContextReallyMatters 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not Today Weight loss is another benefit. I have pants i could barely button that i have to wear a belt with now. Mainly all from the rope. I just recently added push ups and leg exercises. Before that it was all rope. Good luck beautiful.

      +Jason Stewart I don't think I even got through a full minute. Don't realize how out of shape you are until you try this jump rope. I think I am going to do this and yoga a few times a week. I am just looking to tone not lose weight.

    • @capcom23
      @capcom23 9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      +Jason Stewart Same here. I needed to get used to this work out. In the beginning i only could jump 30x. But now at start around 90 or 100. But later while using the rope i can get even above 100. I push myself to higher jumps weekly. I went from 690 now to 890. Next week I will push myself to 1000. Giving your body a good rest is also important. The muscles will grow better that way! and you'll be able to do more! Your endurance gets higher each week if you keep going

  • @Gunn3rA1
    @Gunn3rA1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +94

    Yes! I'm so glad I started weighted jump roping! I'm already very fit because I'm a basketball player and I just added a jump rope to my gym bag. Apparently jump roping helps with hand eye coordination, footwork, decreasing foot and ankle injuries, improving bone density, breathing efficiency, staying calm, and getting you smarter? I'm not even joking jump roping helps in the development of the left and right hemispheres of your brain! All these things are essential for every sport, if you don't already, you need to seriously consider jump roping!

    If your just starting don't get discouraged. Jumping for just 1 min can be hard for beginners. Just keep working. When I first started I almost fell over after 1min of jumping lol.

    This is awesome! She is a perfect teacher, talking us through it. I am 51 and was in pretty good shape a year ago, going to the gym 4 times a week, but have been so busy this last year and went and got fluffy again! Told my man of 28 years to buy me a jump rope last week, as I have some wicked roping skills! lol! Been jumping around park with my dog, who also attacks my rope, looking like a real spaz! Found this vid today. Gonna try do it AT LEAST once a day for a month and will track my weight AND skirt size and keep you posted! I am seriously loving this!!! THEN I will show my teen daughters when I got it rocking and blow them away!

    The best thing about working out is it makes us realise the importance of never giving up. Even though I was working out pretty regularly, then I thought I should also start with jump rope routine as well. First day, I could hardly keep up with you. But today, here I am. Every exercise finished to the last, even the one leg hop.
    Love you guys! Keep up the work. ❤️

    If someone is just starting just like me.. you can do it!
    I weight 72kg, being my ideal 52-58kg (Acording to my age and height). I can't keep up at all with the video. I do it at my peace, stoping when I have two. This is the 3rd day I've done this.
    Yesterday I could go up a 5 floor stair, which I couldn't go up before stoping at the 4th to breathe. I felt I had so much more energy with just two days. (and at night i went to sleep exhausted because of that haha)
    For now I just quit junk food and eat a banana a day so my muscles don't die in the way.

    Fun! I just brought jump rope back into my life a week or 2 ago, & while I've only just started this video & cannot last the whole 10 minutes yet, just doing the basic jumping each day I've improved my endurance significantly. This is such a FUN ACTIVITY. It brings back childhood joys, and as a (yikes) senior it works on balance as well as strength, coordination & endurance! YAY!

    I skipped rope for a few mins last night and O...M...G!!! It definitely is a harder workout than running on the treadmill for 10 mins :/ BUT...my legs seem more toned after that few mins than they do after 30 mins on the treadmill :) Seeing immediate results will definitely be a good motivator! Next, I will attempt to try this workout :/

    I bought a Crossrope to help with weight-loss and to help me eventually become a better runner. I watched this video all the way through to see if this would be beneficial. I love that you offer modifications and that there are stretches mixed in. I am very excited to try to today! This may be just what I have needed. Adding to my "Workout" playlist.

This will be a perfect way for me to do a quick workout on days I don't make it to the gym and also a great physical warm-up for when I have to singing commitments/performances - especially when they're super early in the morning!Thanks so much for this!! Sorry I haven't been on my account for a while. But yeah, I'm able to last a good 7 minutes and if I mess up, I don't stop and keep going. It's a very tough workout. I started just by doing the standard jump, the hop skip instead of two skip. It was a lot of fun.

      Driven Light have you seen any body changes?

    • @drivenlight7462
      @drivenlight7462 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      For me, I'm not trying to lose any weight. I'm actually trying to gain weight in muscle. Jump roping will be used to help increase my metabolism, my core, and stamina. So in many areas of my workouts like abs routines, this will help tremendously. But if you are trying to lose weight, you don't necessarily have to eat less, just eat right and good food. Stop going out to eat, cut fast foods, cut soda, and I know that's tough. If you're consistent with your workout and eating, you'll lose weight in no time. Heck, cutting soda out of your diet alone, will help you lose a few ponds.

    This looks great! I've been jumping rope for about 8 months, and I love it! I'm excited to try out some of these jumps. I recommend rolling out your legs with a foam roller BEFORE exercising. It helped greatly reduce the pain I was having in my shins.

I tried this work out this morning & I love the way you have designed the intervals & specially love the stretches you do between circuits. Love your energy & the fact that you do it in a single take so we know its authentic! You're a fab trainer Anna & you give great advice on taking care of the body while working out. I do 5k in morning and 5k in afternoon. It takes me 9 minute to do 1,000 jump ropes .I take breaks like I don't do it continuously. I have a jump rope that counts automatically so it makes it easier.It all depends on your weight because people who weights more will lose more pounds compare to someone who weight less.I'm not an active person,but I been doing like 1k ,2k,3k,4k,7k,10k for 2 and half weeks and I lost 12 pounds.I'm in my 3rd week and I will weight myself soon.

    This feels great!! I can move and feel sweat! haha, thankyou! Did it twice to start off with, interested to see how my muscles feel tomorrow...

      it actually depends on which version of rope skipping youre using... it used to cost a point and a half but after the update it was raised to 2...

    It's the weirdest thing for me to try and understand how someone can just ask "how many calories does this burn?" It's so crazy how people don't know the very minimum on burning calories. Burning Calories vary PER PERSON.
