Retired truck driver here, I can't tell ya how many times when I was out and about I wished I could stop at all these little out of the way places, maybe put a line in the water or just stop and smell the roses, or whatever. Have fun.
It's amazing when you get to slow down and explore places. It makes you appreciate everything. I used to think certain drives were boring until I stopped and saw things along the way
I talk with my husband when we drive somewhere about all the abandoned looking places we see along the interstate and we wonder about the lives and stories behind them 💭
@ASMRTidBits Make a book 📖 about it 😊..why not ? As long as you keep thinking of something that's mean you can make a story about it.....would you like to think about it? I hope ..... Greetings 🇸🇦 🌴 💐
The winter is coming. Wyoming is dangerous in the winter. Im a truck driver. I used to live in my car in California. Im just warning you i was stuck in my truck once, the diesel gelled. It was -20, i believe with a windchill of -40. The weather in Wyoming is dangerous in the winter be careful
@MyDawgyLovesMeMoreThanIDeserve another time in Wyoming the winter was just starting, i hadnt seen the temperature drop much below freezing yet that season, i drove across most of I-80 and it was fine, I saw a little snow on the ground but barely any. I went north on a highway thinking the weather shouldnt change too much and probably within 30 miles it dropped down to -8, everything covered in snow as far as you could see, black ice . I got lucky, there was a small gas station with truck parking that had anti gel, i had to wait for it to open though. There wasnt another truck stop for at least 100 miles, it was probably 180 to 200 miles before another truck stop.
I lived in Billings, Montana for two years. It does get extremely cold. On a trip to S. Dakota my radiator froze. It had antifreeze in it, just not enough. I had a blast exploring up there, but being a Southerner just couldn't hack the cold.

An RV camping spot with an attached gas station definitely would've been a cool family business to run back in the day. I can picture a pavilion where the concrete pad was with picnic tables and what not for the visitors to use.
I got caught sleeping in the back of my Dodge Dakota by Palm Springs P.D. My truck was impounded and I went to jail for three nights. When I got released it took me another two days to find my truck. They lied three times about which tow yard it was at. When I finally found it the tow company wanted $4,000 dollars. This was a 1994 Dakota in 2004. I paid $ 4,000 When I bought it. So now I'm on a mountain bike with a tent. The moral of this story is don't get caught sleeping in your car, you criminal you.
@@CV450xIt was palm springs. A lot of cities and towns in California don't allow people to sleep in their vehicles. Towing companies are notorious for ripping people off. I warned him no fucking way would someone rent a $500000 home to you without meeting you face to face this is probally a deposit scam. Fortunately, he followed my advice and was not scammed.
Just blowing with the wind Getting on down the road Robert picked up a metal detector You'd be surprised on the amount of silver coins you'll find around the old gas stations
Just behind the Gas station to the south was a bunch Houses that housed former employees. A gas company was the one who owned the houses. Between 2011 and 2012, the houses were demolished. Table Rock Rd is exit 150. Fascinating what was to just south of the gas station you toured. The streets to the subdivision are still there
I toured that gas station prooerty in 2011 while stopping. It was in much better shape and the structure was locked up at that time. A lot of RVers like to use tgat spot
Thats crazy to see now, when i was a kid we'd stop at this gas station every now and then. That was 24ish years ago. As i remember this gas station was sketchy looking even back then. Sketchy bathrooms on the side of the building, in the middle of knowwhere, kinda like a scary movie 😅. Not many gas stations on that stretch, i think there was just one more larger station up the highway from it which was old also even back when i went there.
Many old gas stations were shut down because of updated EPA regulations, the cost to retrofit to bring up to code is prohibitive to the owner. Many prime locations are abandoned and the cost to remove the old tanks and sanitize the ground will be more than the land itself.

Incredibly convenient stop over location. Unfortunately the firepits aren't utilized to their potential here because Americans see themselves as too proud for that and there is a social shaming and stares that happens discouraging public facility use.

It is I would live by there. I would love to live by there. I only want to own the land if no one owns it. I'll come and do it and take over the land and take a little piece for myself.
