It's always been my thought, that if your going to do a cover, just don't mimic the original, do something interesting. This is an amazing reimagining of one of my favorite songs. Thank you for this.
Yeah, something additional was added in this cover. Something cool like te video editing, images carefully selected and of course wonderful variations in the vocals, lead by a nice voice

I have never heard such a beautiful rendition of J.D.s song Country Roads as I've heard Brandi Carlile sing. She is my inspiration, and I don't care what some people say about her. Such a talented young singer. I love her tremendously. 💕

Seeing Brandi live several years ago in Concord, NH was a total bucket list item for me. She ended that December show by singing, with the theater lights out, O Holy Night, A cappella. It was utterly sublime. So this amazing cover of the great John Denver song, also deeply personal to me, since my mom was born in WV, is no surprise to me. Brandi can do anything.
Brandi has transformed this song into one of haunting beauty. She's so amazing.

Lived 11 years in Indonesia and Philippines in 80s and 90s and this was like an unofficial national anthem in both countries - played it a million times on street corners, in cafes and bars with tons of folks singing along who in many cases didn't even know what the words meant, but loved it anyway. Wonderful to hear it reimagined by such a special artist!

I love your take on this classic, Miss Brandi. I’m not a huge fan of country, but there are several country songs I love. And yours are now part of that short list. Looking forward to you future work.
And…she is not really country, in my opinion. A flavor of her is..but she has so many flavors. She has basically created her own genre. I’d encourage you to forget that country labeling and listen without that filter. The ONLY TIME the country music establishment acknowledged her is when she was nominated for six Grammys in 2019, and should have won album and record of the year, in the big category. Once the country music white male leadership used what she allowed them to of her, she jumped to the next phase, Joni, and Elton..and Soundgarden covers..and just more beautiful and touching’Brandi music’. Unique and talented humans, all three of them. Brandi, Tim, and Phil. Dive deep, it’s all gold.

I've always loved this song and also Brandi's cover of it for years. Clarice has also been one of my favorite characters and I've always associated this song with her. Simply perfection. Simple and haunting.
Brandi is good on all songs, but I really love to hear her sing country. She SANG "HES GOT YOU" in tribute to Loretta Lynn on the special a few weeks ago. It was awesome.

Have been following Brandi since 2004...craziness. I love the sad melancholy...arrangement of this version.
I envy you. I wish I had known about Brandi & the Twins for 17 years. I, like many others, only discovered them after the performance on the Grammys. I feel like I really dropped the ball because my dad was an agent for 65 years & even booked a lot of country music (I know they’re Americana but still...). Anyhow, I’m very grateful to have found them now during a very difficult time in my life. 👏👍
