john maus is my go to for everything ! whether I'm sad, happy, upset, especially when I get high like I am right now, my oh my does john maus take over my playlist. He's my FAVORITE. Theres no one else lile him and his music ( believe me I searched a lot ) I would LOVE to see him perform that would be... amazing and I would probably cry (and I'm not the crying type) his music leaves me in awe. ♡
This song asks you to embrace it all. To reference another John Maus song, Heaven Is Real, "Love the world and love all man". This song is a celebration of life. Love life my friend, in all its pain and beauty.
Its that clear, decisive tonality; i gadgeated from H.S. in 1983, I never heard about him till a month ago. There you go for small towns (Touchet, Wa - next to Walla Walla, WA)- ha! ...and he's a Philosophy prof. Would have LoVed to attended his classes. Dont forget- his song "Believer" is in the soundtrack of newly released DVD movie "Teacher"!!!
I love that both versions exist. I feel the “I Don’t Eat Human Beings” is not only a proper closet but the ONLY closer suited for the comp album “A Collection of Rarities and Previously Unreleased Material”. That album acts more as a concise record rather than a mere compilation album. There’s many more great unreleased Maus songs (The River, Enterprise, Night of the World, I’ve Got Problems, etc) that are bound to appear on future releases, most likely another compilation album, but possibly even on studio records in the same way 1987 and I Want To Live appeared on Addendum. Aside from my tangent, both versions are astounding. I think comparing them in terms of quality is almost a waste and an injustice to the greatness of each track (just my personal friendly opinion) 🙂
John Maus still Lives! Oh yes.... He is still way ahead of the curve. Or one of the pioneers of the current musical curve! Lots of straight lines being drawn around us.. Listen to the questions this man asks....(well I would recommend it.
Ok. Now.. My son just knows portuguese n asked me.. dad, this is our music.. and I said, "Yes, this is our sound man.." he's like 6 years old.. n he asked me what Does it mean? The lyrics.. them He got it.. n we said again.. yes.. this is our music... We love this sound..
I´m on a road there with me uh me i wanna say everything i wanna hold everyone i wanna say everythin but i am so far away from me so far away from me so far so far away from me ...
I wanna hold everyone in the world I wanna say everything But I’m so far away from home All joy for all eternity Appeals to the agape love he alludes to so much in Love is Real... I notice he uses the same high pitch, whistling synth in this track that is also in Heaven is Real and Tenebrae. I feel like there’s a connection there...
i just realized that this is the second comment I have bumped into posted by you today. which is insane if you calculate the odds. so i am your kindred soul and youtube subscriber
I love everyone who loves John Maus and Ariel Pink. If you’re listening to this, you’re fuckin great
Who is Ariel pink for john maus ?
You're fucking great too :)
i love you
love you too
you too, by the way, all of you
only love, maximum love, for all humanity, forever
For the whole universe and all creation my friend
'I'm gonna hold everyone
I'm gonna say everything'
I find that very moving
Fly Sparks those we love
💓⚡🔌
But Im so far away from Love...
john's music is what makes me live for finding new music in the corners of media.
Powerful, deep and mysterious... sad, but hopeful... promising... daring... brave...
i wanna hold everyone in the world
i wanna say everything
i wanna hold everyone in the world
i wanna say everything
but im so far away from home
so far away from home
so far
so far away from home
so far
so far away from home
so far away
all joy for all eternity
i wanna hold everyone in the world
i wanna say everything
i wanna hold everyone in the world
i wanna say everything
1:11-2:42 was the best auditory minute and a half of my damn life. Sheer musical transcendence.
the whole song tho
and repeat !!!!
This is worship music. unlimited room for thought.
Perfect song to encapsulate agape love.
i’ve been scrounging through john discography for a few weeks now, i can’t find a song he’s made that i don’t like.
My favorite is “keep moving on” lolol
pussy is not a matter of fact
Castles in the Grave is my jam right now! I adore it.
That's a good thing. Flat out goodness......... judge for your self..
Right? Just simply good music.
This production is flawless.
That’s a masterpiece if I ever heard one 🖤🕊
This song is perfect.

Smoke a Doink for Maus
Nikki Em I relate completely, sadly I don’t know anyone in person who even knows who he is.
Check out Molly Nilsson, she's like the female version. Also some of the Ariel Pink tracks are similar, but not many.
Really nice
I have attended a live show of his...fucking amazing. sings from the bottom of his heart
Big Maus fan. Never heard this. Amazing. Thanks for uploading it.
“All Joy For All Eternity” is a re-tooled version of “I Don't Eat Human Beings” ☆ Beautiful ☆
John Maus said everything....and that darned bell achieves eternity.
The middle piece of this song is also in a song called "I Don't Eat Human Beings".
Makes me think on the sadder aspects of life man
It is good to reflect on these things.
This song asks you to embrace it all. To reference another John Maus song, Heaven Is Real, "Love the world and love all man". This song is a celebration of life. Love life my friend, in all its pain and beauty.
@@alyosha917 God bless you man, John really touches my heart whether I'm up or down
No matter how far away one seems you just have to never give up
true but somehow in an empowering way
I heard John recorded this on Jupiter
Thank you joy
i wish this was spotify this verison
This song hits deep.
It's a beautiful pray....I do love jhon maus.. holy sh*&& ❤❤❤❤
He once sent the girl from Bennington a video of him wandering around Hawaii and this song was in it ;.;
I wanna say everything 🗣
Reminds of me of the 1980's , it's really impressive the sounds that John recreates.
i like the deep meaning of your comment. it's really impressive the feelings that recreates the 80s mindsound to me.
Thanks, the synths are very 80's...Moog/Fairlight? Echoeing sounds?

why has this not been released? so good.
it was replaced by I Don't Eat Human Beings, but i find this version much better
I don’t eat human beings is great though. Almost equally beautiful in a different, more atmospheric way and it has perhaps his best guitar solo

This song feels like a big hug
I'm going to petition that Dean Blunt and John Maus make a collaboration album. it would be great
Nate Freeland BEST. PETITION. EVER.
Nate Freeland I️ would die
I’m late to the party but holy shit that would be awesome
I'm also late to the party but this needs to exist

2:02 This sounds like the Nox theme from Stargate SG-1
woah, Havnt heard this one. so nice. alternate version.
Dunno which song of his to request when I finally pass into THE GREAT BEYOND
I think I’ll take my Maus boxset to the grave so I can die with his music.

Yeah, I know.
A lot of John's songs is "unreleased" or we've never even heard them.
Just realized this goes perfectly before I don’t eat human beings

Post pop pre-Doom ... Derrida's ghost and hauntology watching (or rather listening)
Nerida Walker has crap stuck in her ears and has mistaken it for John Maus' music
Somebody has all the lyric ?

I have to find this in high quality somewhere...
FUCK YES

This is crap... I don't know how it arrived at my ears.
hahaha the only crap is your opinion
truly you are not worthy
Maybe the "crap" arrived your ears before you listened to this?
Maybe the "crap" arrived your life before this music, so you can't feel this spirit.
