I agree with you that Tom is a top tier lyricist. He quickly made my Top Two (he knocked Bob Dylan out off). That's why I'm a huge fan of his. I truly believe that most of his haters can't appreciate his lyrics; they go right over their heads.
I have only bought 2 cds in my time...the beach boys and the Eminem curtain call. I have bought all toms CDs. The best songs are not on you tube...he has song called HERO'S...OMG makes cry every time. Talks about soldiers and cops and all the trades out there slaveing away not being noticed...he raps about they are the real heros

So many of us wish we could go back and undo our past mistakes. I happily live with my mistakes because they made me who I am. I would never risk my 42 year marriage or our 4 adult children just to undo mistakes of my past. If you haven’t heard it yet, another good non political song from Tom is Fighter. My top current favorite vocalists are Tom, Ronnie Radke (Falling in Reverse) and David Draiman (Disturbed). Check ‘em all out I wish I didn’t have two editions of arthritis, necrotic tissue in on knee and the other side torn ACL & neuropathy. But as I tell my kid “life sucks buy a helmet.”

I see the way my life's story touches ppl.. that's religion & church enough for the ppl present. It's good enough for someone to come to terms with THEMSELVES. If there's a "God(s)," aren't we made as an Ultimate reflection of Itself so that it can EXPERIENCE it's own gift? I had some paranormal experiences inundate my life without my asking, calling for, or anything.. Ppl wanna talk about being "woke"; these same ppl have NEVER experienced what a TRUE Awakening is. I cannot stop the tide of influxes I experience EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I lay my head down to sleep The Christian religion (I was an Altar boy for over 10 YEARS) defined me as a person coming up. It made me enemies with my best friends.. The greatest and hardest step I ever took next to alcohol (which was number 1 - no cap) was realizing that my faith was built on Corruption of Self... It took me a LOOONNNNGGG time to realize that these were MANMADE weapons the "faith" had folded & filtered my lense of perception through.. Christianity taught me the essence and value of masked "forgiveness" that's been foused & divided by the same lense hole.
