Who are known for wearing *large-rimmed hats* that can cover their faces in shadow; wearing long robes and wielding scythes. Brittiany is also one of the most Catholic-devout regions of France in history... and Perdition is specifically a *Christian* term. [Also; Brittany is historically known for Cider.. made by fermenting Apples. You could say... Bad Apple...] Also; you canonically fight Elly in a weakened state after she's just lost to Marisa/Reimu already, and she's rusty as hell seeing as no-one's insane enough to cross a lake of blood that a vampire makes it's home at. And yet she *stlll* manages to have the *only* survival phase in PC-98.
You know, I used to assume she was just another non-specific youkai like Orange, Yuuka and Rumia. (While the game never clarifies Elly's species, it does suggest she isn't human, seeing that she says to Marisa that "I've had enough of you humans!" and that "There's no way I'd lose to a mere human...") But now I'm considering that if she's basically the Touhou version of Ankou, that might make her a Shinigami (consider that Shinigami, actually a relatively recent concept in Japanese folklore, originated as loose adaptations of Europe's Grim Reaper). Then again, I'm not entirely sure if I really want that to be my headcanon, since it would cause there to be too many parallels between Elly and Komachi (already from canon they're both red and have scythes, and now I want to headcanon it so they're both Shinigami?) I do like the idea of Yuuka being so powerful she _has a Grim Reaper working for her,_ though. Before you point out Elly is a Stage 3 boss who got dunked on twice in a row, Pre-Spell Card Rules to boot: 1) Your stage doesn't necessarily match your power level. See Yuyuko in TD, or indeed Reimu/Marisa in LLS and IN. Mima in HRtP might retroactively count too, she's essentially a mid-game boss despite her feats in later games. Also, everyone in PoDD other than Yumemi and Chiyuri being able to appear early to mid-late. 2) Elly herself acknowledges she's out of practice due to not fighting in a long time. She might also not have fully recovered from her previous opponent when facing the player, so perhaps the protag who arrived first had a harder fight. 3) Her opponents _were Reimu and Marisa,_ you know, two of Gensokyo's big guns. Losing to them is hardly a metric to call someone weak or even mid.

And by keeps I mean to actually kill Reimu. Also we don't really know how truthful Elly is being about being rusty, although she did fight the protagonist just after losing to Reimu/Marisa which she can get a pass for.

Although I haven't played any of the PC-98 games since I'm a bit too lazy to configure a PC-98 emulator, I still remember Elly very well. I used her in my playthrough of Touhoumon World Link. I got mine with an Adamant nature, and let me tell you this; she becomes an OP Physical attacker.
The Dark Slayer #⑥⑨ It's easy to set it up. Some people say to use another pc 98 emulator instead of the Anex 86, but I still use it. There is a thing you can download with Touhou 1 - 5, which also comes with the Anex 86. All you have to do is extract the files, click on some button thing. Make sure you are using the 2 bottom columns.(pretty sure about that) Click which game you wanna play, then start.
This theme is surprisingly intense for a Stage 3 boss, yet again, if it wasn't because of Yuuka being Yuuka, and Stage 4 boss being the other playable character, Elly would have been your typical Stage 5 boss as the servant of the mastermind. Man it would be really cool having two Scythe characters in modern Touhou... Please ZUN, you did it with Yuuka; revive Elly (and other PC98 characters) as well.
Crystallized Silver I prefered this one because people No.1 just pass by this great theme and No.2 Its very upbeat and motivating for old gamers(*WITCH* im not but i feel like one)also No.3 Bad Apple gets very anoying because there are many diferent remixes of the melody and its hard to come by the Perdition Crisis(dunno hw 2 sple) and yes this theme is very repettitive but it would go good with a piano or electronic or rock'n'roll remix.I have the patience to write that because its so underrated.

If there's ever a scenario that involves sealed evil spirits, Mima may appear again. A scientific scenario? Yumemi/Chiyuri/Rika/Rikako may appear again. Honestly, the Science team is most likely to appear again out of any PC-98. (Fun Fact: As of 2014, Yumemi is the most popular PC-98 according to Touhou popularity polls > source www.en.touhouwiki.net) And seeing as how Seija got her own video game... maybe.

Having never played the PC-98 era games of Touhou, I was thinking of going in order, starting with the very first one, and going in order that way. I had started with Touhou 6. This is a good older peice of music of a character I had never heard of before my friend sent me the link. I am VERY happy hearing this. Having played Fallout and honestly preferring older game music, I am shocked this was forgotten. Since my waifu is Utsuho, of the PC-98 era music, my favorite’s Strawberry Crisis!! "best themes in LLS" last time I checked Flan never appeared in Touhou 4 o.o and tbh, U.N. Owen's sorta overrated, Centennial Festival's certainly good... but there's a LOT of themes that are just as charming.
Kocudas I have no idea what an LLS is, I've never played the series. I was assuming it was the name of the Touhouverse or something along those lines. Sorry.
Every PC-98 character is underrated with the rare exception of Mima, who is overrated.
Flans theme isn't even that good. Like its amazing but then there are themes with better atmosphere and melodies.
