I got an i3-12100f, an RTX 2060 SUPER, 2x16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 1 TB NVME SSD. How big of a cluster do you think I could be hosting and playing on the same time from such a (PC) build, 5 maps max? I only plan on making it solo/1player max and a vanilla-ish playthrough (max 10 small-sized mods except for ARK Additions: the Collection).
I have been looking around but I have not found an answer for this. Best I can tell you is each server without mods takes between 4 and 6GB of RAM under a light load. So I would fire one up and see how it goes, then two... so forth and so on until you reach your max. Just keep in mind you will not want to be running the MAX amount since the servers would use more resources the more players are on.

The server listings have been moody for as long as I can remember. The best thing to do is have your friends add the server to their steam favorites and filter that way in game. If nobody can find the server that way, then you have a port forwarding issue in your router.
After running a server for me and some friends, I unplugged my pc from the server and installed a new network cable. When i got my pc up and running again, now ASM says LAN only. I contacted COX and they said "we don't allow port forwarding"... but that can't be, as I've been running this server for over 4 years. Any idea what may have happened, or how I can fix it?

I contacted my ISP and they said "we don't allow port forwarding" which isn't true, because I've been running the server for years without problem. I'm just really unsure/uncomfortable in setting up port forwarding. I've done it before, but it was stabbing in the dark and eventually it worked. :/

trying to set this up for my son and i. the top of my asm has a red banner and asks for a web api. when trying to apply for one im asked for my domain name. i dont have a domain, do i need an api and how do i finish the process to fully install asm
Hey man I just wanted to ask what should my external and internal ports be, because I watched NeedyTheNoodle and he said to make 2 ports the first one with the numbers 27015 and the second one with 7777 but that didnt work and the video was 3 years ago. I am with tp-link router btw.
If you want friends form outside you network to join, then you have to do port forwarding. You also cannot have clusters unless you port forward. But if you just want to play on a server with people in your house, then a LAN only server would work.

I forgot how badly devs are. so i refunded this game and i do not have interest anymore. unfortunatelly my 32 minutes of gameplay shows me one product much worst than ark. Just to sell another game worst than the first one. i am not fool to give any chance for this team again.
@@diego-vw2in Sounds like they are having a lot of the same issues they had when they released the first game. Hopefully they learned enough then to make fixing it now a lot faster and easier.
When I create a basic server with just a map and basic settings it tells me to Install X3DAudio1_7.dll and XAPOFX1_5.dll after I put these files in the error message dissapears but a new comes and and tells the error message "the application could not start correctly 0xc00007b" (yes i have C++ 2013 Installed and the directx 2010 aswell but idk if I installed the directX in the right place) does anyone knows how to fix that?
Both C++ 2013 and DirectX 2010 get installed in their default locations. You do not have to change where they install naturally. @@nik970305 Initial startup is always the longest. It should take less time after that. However, ARK servers are notorious for booting up rather slow in comparison to other servers.

I also added command lines -usecache -high, and its going 1000 sec total running thats too much, and also i watch my Task manager, it uses max 1.5 Ram max , there is got to be a way to change it to use more or force it use more ram?

I would say it is your RAM for sure... 8Gb would be the absolute minimum for hosting one map.

Double check all your port forwarding, if you computer was set to DHCP it is possible it changed its IP address when you reconnected it.

No idea why they leave the field in there to confuse people... but you can just type in localhost and continue.

7777 and 27015 are still valid ports for ARK. You will need UDP and TCP forwards for both.

Yep, each server instance must have it's own set of ports. So each would need port forwarding completed.

i started one of these and its status shows up as available, but my friends arent allowed to join yet they can see me on the server and everything.
