Ecco in my opinion is really the most transcendent member of drain gang/sad boys. I think he's got a huge future in music and E really changed the entire aesthetic/sound of everyone around him after it dropped.

I really do commend you for getting a more in depth look. I feel like Ecco makes music because he is so misunderstood and just wants to make something that he can identify with. In his ep PXE (there is an animated music vid for the whole project it’s like 10 mins long it even has lyrics in the vid) it’s all about him trying to find his true self, kind of battling with himself and breaking through into a new life, giving us his blissful, zesty^2 self that you hear in his new stuff. The way he is able to reveal himself in music is so cool and I recommend checking it out. You might not like the sound, but it’s all self-produced and the message is really cool

I think the main disconnect with Bladee and especially Ecco is the softness haha, it def aint on like some tough, street, masculine shit like most hip hop. It's more like artsy vulnerable spiritual style, which is def different and most hip hop fans are just gonna think its like uncomfortable and soft. Which i totally understand, i listened to Nas, Jay, Pac, Big L, etc all the classic hip hop shit growing up so at first i was kinda like wtf is this, shits wack...but once you just accept it as a whole dif lane in hip hop its easier to see why its cool...and i think thats how youre starting to understand too, so salute!

When you K hole it's like, all of the sudden, no matter what you were doing or talking, everything goes quiet. You can still hear but I can't explain it, it's just quiet, and you completely separate yourself from reality, like if your whole experience as a person is now just something you're watching on a TV in some dark room thats the best way I can describe it

Peroxide is about pretty much how Ecco feels different and was treated different because of how he is black and everyone would judge him for just being black. I love this song as I’ve always been judged for being different from others especially where I grew up at and I would always be judged just because of how I looked.

@@gsuhz41 i think bladee is, ecco is also born in sweden but with a nigerian(correct me if i'm wrong) father and swedish mother, and thaiboy is born in thailand.
its hard to have bad ketamine experience, unless you're in an unsecure environment and start to panic being inexperienced with substances. Even then- ket is dissociative, it makes you too indifferent to stuff if anything. In moderation it's a quite safe drug, absolutely no hangover (some might say next day is even better) and I believe already approved in many countries as medicine to treat depression (including some of US states). It's one of the best substances alongside shrooms IMO

It depends where you're from in europe. I'm white, from portugal, my elementary and high school was I'd say 50 or 60% black students. I'll never know what it was like because I am not black but I doubt it was as it is/was in Sweden. As a white person I don't even remember what it was like to hang with black people for the first time, like the "culture shock" you were talking about, I grew up around whites and blacks. It's still a mostly white country, and there is still racism especially in older generations tho

Like the videos, they’re a fun watch but man you gotta open up a little bit otherwise don’t even bother listening to it. It’s not a review but you’re comparing everything, saying what’s better when that’s not the point of their music at all. They’re not making it for numbers, winning critics over, or competition. You keep comparing it to lil baby or whatever you keep saying and that makes no sense TBH. Most of the time you’re not even trying to understand it; you’re just giving up on the songs cuz you think they’re soft or whatever. I get it, im a pretty masculine dude on the outside but if you open up to DG’s music and try to understand it you’ll have a better time. Especially how critical you are of the voices and videos, they’re not bad or low quality they’re made that way on purpose to capture a style, aesthetic and emotion in the video. I just feel like you’re constantly keeping your defense up while listening to it cuz u think it’s gay or some shit idk.
