I am going to retrieve the Cream & Sugar BOM box from my closet, and get ready to join you next week! I think I will be starting with block #5, so there is hope that I will complete the quilt this time. It was the very first BOM I ever purchased and in the years since, I have learned so much more about quilting! It won't be as daunting now! And since you were the first TH-camr that I watched, its appropriate to bring the two together! Thank you Anna!
Fantastic… I didn’t sleep well last night so spent the day in the Bee Hive and finished block 2… this is definitely a low stress way to do a BOM😂
So this is why I love your videos, you speak from where you are at emotionally with our craft…..and we all can agree it helps to hear others are human with emotions as well! Your such a gifted artist, and you help me, often when Im struggling, I seek out your video for comfort!!❤🧵
I love seeing other quilters bringing out bins of fabric! Yes! We love our fabric. Anna, I must confess, that I keep three bins of fabric in my master bedroom bathroom shower. A whole bin full of flannels which I do use. It's a good thing I have another bathroom with a working shower. I'm sorry about the house issues. Please continue all the wonderful crafting you do! Take care. Marion in Gresham.
Congratulations to the winners!❤
Oh SO many projects out there to take on and gardening is just around the corner! Oh my!!!
Enjoy spring break with your grandkids. They really do grow up fast. Enjoyed your video with my morning coffee.
Cream & sugar looks amazing. Especially civil war reproduction fabric.its very temping but I put myself on a not spend for a while. I do have the Beth Dutton quilt I could work on. stay well. congratulations to the winners
It is an awesome book and can be used over and over!
You were like visiting with an old friend. Thanks for the wonderful video Anna.
Thank you! 😃
Thank you for sharing. Happy stitching. ❤
Anna, I am a quilter too. I also do embroidery quilts. I like to quilt the pieces on my machine under the design. Those pieces use batting as small as a 3 inch square so I save batting strips that are quite small. Then for batting smaller than that I cut them up and use it to stuff pillows and other small projects that I make! Thus when I trim the excess from a finished quilt- I save the batting. Sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed at the “stuff” I have saved. 😮 but I still enjoy making things so I figure as long as my stuff brings me joy, I will keep doing it. My kids can burn it or haul it away when I am gone.
I do enjoy your Quilt Roadies and your Stitch Roadies video, you definitely keep it real! I think I’m right there with you in the ‘Topper’ club! Just like stitching, starting a new quilt is such fun. Speaking of starting, I must start My Sewing Room wall hanging, you just reminded me of that. I will be adding a light weight stabilizer to the back of the flannels and homespuns that I use for backgrounds, thanks for the tip. Take Care!
I'm a topper too! I see nothing wrong with it 😊. Your log cabin is beautiful. I love civil war fabrics.
Hi Anna, I don't usually use my computer to watch because I stream TH-cam on my tv. But I'm glad you mentioned about subscriptions.. I thought I had been subscribed for years and in checking, I wasn't! That was very upsetting. . Now I will check to make sure it doesn't change again.
Please keep up your great videos. You definitely are company for me and I will continue enjoying all of you life's chatter and sharing of our Hobby!
Thank you for checking ❤️🙏
You are not even close to being a hoarder, you are a specialized collector. I have bins of batting pieces and use them for small mini quilts, placemats and coasters. I figure I paid for the whole roll of batting, so I am using it all! Love you Anna ❤️
That is awesome!❤️
Thanks for the great visit. All my kids, most of my grandkids and all of my great grandkids surprised me last weekend for my birthday. They planned the whole thing and they all live all over different states. Talk about a great surprise wow. Some of the greats got to see snow for the first time ever. Grands gathered in my sewing room and started remembering how they loved being in my sewing room laying under my sewing tables coloring in coloring books making things with all the craft supplies I have. I still have some of the things that they had made still hanging in my room. Awesome memories. Grands are in their 20’s now so they grow up in a blink of an eye for sure. Thanks for the great visit.
I’m glad to see that you chose reproduction fabrics for your BOM. They will make a beautiful set of blocks.
Already loving my choice❤️
Anna, you feed my soul, I love spending time with you on your channel!
I'm about to have a good clear out as my husbands going into hospital for six weeks and I've challenged myself to get stuff finished and either for giveaways or gifts to friend and family. I love your enthusiasm for sewing and life. thanks for a great post. I'm hoping to join you if i can get hold of the book.
🙏my thoughts are with you… just keep stitching🙏
Thank you Anna. That was a great chat to start my Sunday morning. My daughter is a teacher so school breaks mean i see less of my grands. No childcare for 2 weeks.
Relax
Anna, When you said that you could use a Quilt Therapist it made me giggle. This could turn into something big…a new profession in the future. I could use one too 😂 Thank you for another book recommendation, I paused and put the audio book on hold….three weeks wait. The last book you recommended The Soul of an Octopus was so wonderful. I will never look at an octopus in the same way, they are so interesting.
I also have a big box full of civil war fabrics. The colors don’t go with anything in my house, but I LOVE your log cabin quilt, so maybe I will start one and use up the fabric. It looks so homey and comfortable ❤️🏡 Love the kitty pins❣️
Years for education 😂
OMGosh, I piece my left over batting too!!!😱 Are we thrifty or what? my mom always says "I grew up in the depression"..she did. I think they saved everything. Maybe it's time to pass some things on to others, who will use them? Cream and sugar in beach house colors would be beautiful...JULY..... is soooo far off, especially at our age. You go girl. Use the fabric you have. Civil war will be beautiful. Love you and enjoy our visits.have a blessed day 😘
I'm sorry to hear about Joann also.
I hope they can get back on their feet.
Love your stitching on the sewing room hanging.
OMG! I LOVE those Kitty Pins!
We are still having snow here in WI. 😑
Marilyn
Snow!!!!😜😱🙏❤️
Lol- I’m definitely a topper!
I was so excited this morning I am having coffee with Anna
Good morning friend! Have fun with the grands during spring break! Boy wish we had your weather. We had a crazy snow event come through that covered the ground AND all of our plants that are trying to peak their heads up. Oh boy, I never thought to may a quilty box too!!! Add that to the squirrel list of must create things LOL. I love that giant quilt you showed from Civil War fabrics. That's alot of binding 😳😳😳you have to do on that one. I definitely feel like a hoarder at times, I think we all do. Although I have "organized chaos" in my creative space, it is NOT attractive aka for my eyes only. However, in 2025 my "bucket list" is a total makeover of this creative space. I'm glad you mentioned QA as I forgot about the postcards I wanted to make! YIKES. Off to make, make, make. Hugs from NE Ohio.
Organized Chaos…I need a sign😂❤️
Happy Easter holiday with the family Anna. Our daughter will be home so we'll celebrate her birthday with her this year😊
Thank you! You too!😱
Squirrel……is my mantra. At the rate I’m going, I’ll have to live until I’m 100 in order to make a dent. My mom is 97, so I hope I have inherited that dna 😂. Your stitch box is so lovely.
You and I are of the same mind when it comes to fabric. I love-love-love Civil War era fabric. One can never have too much. Your quilt will be gorgeous! Gig from California.
Going to be gorgeous ❤
I love those fabrics. It will make a beautiful quilt.
Thank you so much for your posts. They fill me with ideas and happiness. You definitely keep me entertained. You are living life in a very special way that uplifts and encourages all of your on-line family and friends.
I'm so glad!🙏❤️
Thank you !! Enjoy those grandchildren 💕
I enjoyed the visit today Anna! Enjoy your grands!!!
Thanks for the chat this morning. Enjoy your grandkids!!!
Thank you 😊 💓
Loved the visit! Hope you and yours have a great spring break and a Blessed Easter😊
Love the colours in that basket of fabrics, Anna, such as striking mix. Enzo is very relaxed and has almost kicked his shoe off😃. Your woolly Wed project is so pretty.
I always enjoy your videos. ❤
You definitely are a quilter, not a hoarder! I have seven sandwiched toppers waiting to be quilted and two that are quilted but are waiting for a label. I was thinking for myself to use your cross stitch idea of a destinated stitch for my hand sewing, but i think i should use it to get those sandwiches quilted.
Remember no one is the boss of you😘
You are so cute, Anna! I so enjoy your videos. Would love it if you would share your quilt tops you unstashed in your store room! Please share.
It’s not hoarding at all…we’re all your quilt therapist here on TH-cam and we all believe it’s very healthy for your soul and well being. ❤ I love the Cream and Sugar BOM, I didn’t realize it was by Edyta Sitar. I would like to attempt that one day but right now I’m doing her Common Bride Quilt and that one is a doozy! I hope I can finish it! Thanks for the visit, have fun with your grandkids!!!
Someday😃
I watch both of your channels faithfully. We had spring break here a couple weeks back we hit to spend the time with our 8 year old great granddaughter. Our grandson are all adults 22, 24 and 28. The oldest and my daughter had babies at 20 so we are young (72) great grands. She is the light of our lives. Grampa was so busy when girls and grands were little he is getting an education on daily life with little ones
Sweet times❤️
Wow, that log cabin quilt is GORGEOUS 💕!
Civil war reproduction fabrics are my favorite also.
I fell in love with the neutral quilt! I pulled all my fabrics from my fat quarters and neutral scraps. I have plenty!! Could probably do many of these pretties! The first block calls for making two! Thank you for another great video!
This quilt is going to be fun!!!
Sunday morning here! Thanks for the visit. Here its Easter holiday so grandson is visiting his Dad. We now pick him up after school on Wednesdays. So we are slowly weaning him or is it us, from being around old boring (his words) people. He does need to be around more kids his age. Anyway just love your fabrics. Also that cute kitty pattern and pin cushion idea. Enjoy the holidays with grandsons. Huge hugs from South Africa.
I’m afraid I’ve entered the topper realm 😬
My first grandson was born this week in West Linn
Congratulations 🎉🎊🍾🎈
I have a lot of civil war fabrics and I am going to follow your BOM as you make your quilt. I can't say that I will make one along with you as I have so many UFO' already. We had new wood flooring put in our entire home and I got a realization of how much fabric I have. Every inch of our house (which is fairly a big home) had to be moved and relocated into different rooms and then relocated to other rooms as the workers needed cleaned out rooms. It was astonishing as to how much fabric I had. Isn't it easy to take those bins of fabric and hide them away in storage and we forget that we had all that fabric! So will just dream and watch you make a beautiful quilt with those civil war fabrics.
I got the biggest kick out of this video, laughed and laughed, a good laugh.. so m any thing hit home to me.
First of all the batting saving of pieces, yes oh yes been there and sure as I throw away a project would need one.
I will be84 in July and you can imagine what I am going thru, just giving things away that I know I will never use. Sometimes it is very hard, but I have been enjoying it.
Please never stop your quilt roadies, you are bringing so much joy to each and everyone of us.
Enjoy spring break with GS. They are precious.. I now have 3 GGS.. can’t love them enough..
Maggey
It is a struggle…should I give it away or keep it another year🤔😂😂😂😂😂
Enjoy your grandkids, embrace this time. I remember so well taking mine to movies, out for lunch or ice cream, ball games, school functions etc. It went by so fast, now they all are grown, living their own lives, some raising their own children. Hearing you talk about yours brings back good memories 😊. Piecing batting makes great $ sense, makes the price of batting not hurt so much 😅.
So true!🙏❤️
My BOM book is ordered and should arrive on Wednesday. I am so excited to make this quilt. We are having work done in our basement so my sewing space is full of miscellaneous stuff, but I hope to have it all back in order by the first week of April. Thanks for another wonderful video.
Thank you for the visit. I’m on the fence about the Cream & Sugar BOM, but I’m really looking forward to seeing it done in your civil war fabrics. And I really like the idea of picking a collection of fabrics from my stash to do it.
It says I am still subscribed so far. My Dad was a shop Forman for Alcoa for many years. My Mom was a homemaker and tried to corral me and my two sisters. I was the baby so I got away with a lot. I am returning to quilting after many years, so I don't have much of a "stash" yet. I enjoy the time spent with you very much. My grands are all mostly grown. I have on little caboose that came along 16 years after his other siblings. Big surprise for my daughter, but he is a joyful blessing and gives me another shot at being a Granny which I love. I also have 3 great grands but don't get to see them very much. Take care and enjoy your grands.
Full life🙏❤️
I’d be featured in a 2-hour special in the series “Toppers”!!!
😂😂😂
Civil war fabrics a so beautiful! For years my fabric has been stored in totes. We have not had the space to dedicate to sewing. In October, I got two cabinets with doors from IKEA. I am down to one tote and all the fabric is “out”. You are so correct- it has to be pretty 🎉❤
Good morning Anna. I sent you an email with a picture showing the same little religious holder with the statue inside. It was my grandmothers.
I love it!!!
My daughter lives in northwest Montana so when you share your weather I immediately think of her the weather where she is.😊
Exactly 🌞⛅️💨🌬️🌧️🌈❄️
Hey…I have a huge basket of civil war reproduction fabrics! Going to use for a Jen Kingwell pattern. Hopefully soon! lol
Oh my goodness!! Take my breath away with that civil war log cabin!!! Would you like me to finish that binding?😂
I too am a topper!
Hi Anna ❤
Great seeing you tonight❤ it rained all day on the east coast. Now it's very windy. The windows are howling. Scary. Going to bed soon. LOL
It's very sad about Joanne's. I hope they don't close.❤
So happy to be here with you.
I had to resubscribe to more than half of my subscriptions!!! Yours was one of them!!
By the way,I curate a lot of fabric too!!😂❤
Nice to see you!!!!
Anna, what days will you be with Sit and Sew at the Sisters Outdoor Show? I’ll be there with Country Heritage Tours and I’d love to meet you!!!
I teach Tuesday-Friday🙏🎉❤️
I shop faster than I sew😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Sounds like you should outsource the finishing of your quilt tops. That way you could keep going on your new inspirations.
Our Joann’s went away. Losing 2 in OH. Sew sad! 💔
Love your channel. Having trouble finding the names of the 2 winners, I was hoping for my name to show up can you please post. Thanks so much.
Are your "toppers" on your WIP list 😅
😂😱
Instead of quilt toppers my friend calls them flimsies! I’m a flimsy maker lately.
I didn't put what my daddy did but he was a bronc rider in the rodeo.
You’re in Oregon?
Im subscribed and never get notifications
You have to tap the bell next to the subscribe button🙏
😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
I avoid any animal movie , because the animal usually dies and I can’t handle the sorrow.
I just checked my subscription and it was turned off...
😱🙏
I do not see subscribe
I love both your channels & you always keep me company while I’m stitching. I just started the audible for The Soul of an Octopus it’s so good. Thanks for the recommendation. Tip for the boxes. Hide them in another room other than your studio so it’s not so distracting. Ask me how I know? Hahaha I get you totally. Just hide them elsewhere it’s now working for me. Til I can get to those boxes. I’m the same way I decorate with my STUFF so it looks wonderful but I do have a lot of it. Haha Happy stitching. Enjoy your Spring Break. Mariaknits27 💃🏻💕🧵🧶📚☕️
