Hi Anna, I went to the Road to California quilt show today and had a wonderful time. So many beautiful quilts and so many things I want to make that the vendors were selling. I sent a picture to your email of a hexi quilt, I hope you get it. It has 900 hexagons, no repeats of the same cat image. Took 17 years to collect the fabrics and hand sew all the hexi’s. She said in the process, she discovered she did not like hand quilting and all but 5 of the 900 hexi’s are machine quilted. Made by Sandra Sidell of Camarillo, CA. Maybe she watches you❤️

I've been enrolled into Karen Brown's Just Get It Done Quilts #declutterchallenge2024 and it has been so helpful in helping me to refocus on quilting and and cross stitch projects and goals. I think you should start a Q-tube initiative to corral quilters together like floss tube for cross stitchers.

All I say to my kids with their kids noise is “payback”.😂😂. Wish I was going to Sisters this year. Road to California was just OK this year. A lot of the quilts were gorgeous. Nothing I would ever try. Never give up wearing a mask. Stay safe.
Just ok…I’m sorry. Some shows have more of certain genres that I love and others not so much…
@@quiltroadies1695 I live really close so I’ll have FOMO if I don’t go.😂😂. Lots of new vendors and a lot with wool, which I loved. It was smaller this year too.

Hello again. Thank you for showing us your pretty bird wall hanging. When the weather is like this, housework is minimal. After all the goal is to be cozy. I accomplish that by embracing my sewing machine and sewing. And cuddling with my cats.
My quilting group meet once a week to sew. It’s fun seeing what others are working on. Sometimes it is mostly talking and visiting too. ❤

My mom used to do a lot of trapunto way back. Did a lot of pillows with birds, ducks,cats etc😄. I still have all her unfinished ones.

Hunkered down here too, 12 degrees here and 3inches of frozen snow. Internet/ WiFi off and on (mostly off) for a week, finally fixed today. I have a wood stove for weeks like this and coffee perked on the wood stove is fabulous. I enjoy both your channels just because I enjoy having you talk to me. Thankfully the electric hasn’t gone out so sewing quilt tops have been made, if electric goes out I use my treadle 😮. Most of my tops go to a group that quilts them for donations to various causes. Your bird wall quilt is lovely.

I so enjoy your channels. I quilt and do cross stitch. I also have two wool projects that I want to try. I enjoy hearing about your area also. We were stationed at Ft Lewis, Wash., for three years when my husband was in the Army. I just love that area. Thank you for all of your work.

A suggestion is to watch Marion's World. She does many forms and if interested in embroidery she has a series on creating birds and flowers and is doing moths. She has started a series showing being creative while learning embroidery stitches. I love your videos.

Anna, if you did one video showing your quilting and cross stitching, you'd have LONG videos. One of the things I love about your channels is that they are shorter instead of longer. I've taken to looking at how long a video is going to be, roll my eyes because it is usually going to be too long, and then resign myself to watching in bits and pieces. So, thank you for having a video for each of the lovely fields of work you (we) enjoy.

I went to Sisters a few years ago! Such a lovely little town! I shopped at the Stitchin’ Post and had a great time. I also love bird watching in my backyard. Though I don’t get a wide variety of birds here in the suburbs. I always enjoy watching your videos. 🪡🧵🥰

Dear Anna, I listened to you today while sewing on Main Street, the FQS shop kit we both have. If you are interested, I have come up with a different way of doing it than Kimberly describes. It works so much easier for me. Happy to share those cutting directions with you. I sewed the 9 patches in strips and then cut rather than cutting 300 plus 3 inch squares. Also bought a Stripology ruler for my birthday with this quilt and a Jelly Roll pattern in mind, that I did not have a Jelly Roll for.:). Not necessary, but indulgent. So I have been strip sewing like a crazy person in our 15 inch plus snowfall. Love it when my world is blanketed and I can push the noise out. Thanks for today and stitching around bird... my guess is it would fill anyone's soul, trapunto or not.

Hi Anna, good to see you again! My son, who lives in Portland, is getting ready to move into his first home in Beaverton, but that has been delayed because of the ice storm. And for me I'm on day 6 of being snowed in and dealing with sub zero temperatures. And I'm so happy to have TH-cam channels to watch and have a community of like-minded people.
Congrats to your son… now you need visit so we can meet at Acorns and Treads!
I so agree with @marciaclifford7107. I don't have an hour or more at one sitting to watch long videos. I sneak them in between watching grandkids and other obligations. I watch both channels, though, just prefer small segments. 💕💫
Haha drive-thru bird feeding haha. We've been feeding our birds nonstop here in Ontario. Tonight we have an Eastern Screech Owl serenading us. Love visiting with you. Initially a quilter then wool stitching and now cross stitching. Sew Tattered also does these crafts and is sweet to watch.

I don’t think I realized you have two channels, I’ve seen your stitching and woolies that you have worked on. I love watching birds too, I don’t feed them because I have a cat who loves to hunt. I agree with you that us quilters don’t have a tube community except through floss tube. I watch some of the same ladies as you do. I’m going to go check out the pink stitchers. I like silence in the sewing room too. I like to listen to you though, because you’re calming and I love the hum of your camera. I’ve made up the Songbird Serenade kit. I love it and have it hanging near my back door where I go out and feed the birds.

The weather is the same here in WI.
We have about 10" of snow, & minus temps for over a week.
The roads are terrible with bumpy ice.
I can't wait to see the bird quilt completed.
I am also an avid bird watcher.
I've done Trapunto in the past, it adds a lot of texture.

Love the bird quilt! I have been in my happy place (sewing room) quite a few days lately between snow and below zero temps in Iowa. I quilted a top that I have had done for years. I am stitching on some blocks from Sunflower Gatherings quilt from Primitive Gatherings that I have had for awhile, trying to do those at night in front off the TV these are wool on cotton quilt squares. Happy stitching!!!!

My husband just did fill the bird feeder. My niece hosted her mom's B Day party Sunday. Several ladies there have health issues, including myself, and wore masks. I do enjoy your visits Anna. You are like a stitching/quilting buddy.

I love the bird quilt and the music notes… my family members are very musical. I’ve been working on quilt with bunnies a mix of panels and blocks. On the spring side! Our cold and snow is melting here in Central Oregon. Keep stitching!

I sat quietly in my stitching room yesterday evening and I could hear the bell ringers practising in our village church so I hope they had plenty of layers on😮!! We love birdwatching too especially our daughter. I sent for a layer cake with species of British birds on but don't much like the accompanying fabrics in reality so still waiting to find a suitable pattern as the birds are one directional. Last week I got to a group of quilters now meeting in our village and the next day to a small annual quilt show but didn't stay long as I was tired and so having a quiet week now - why do events happen together?! I'm being referred to a Long Covid Clinic. I still wear a mask but even in hospital - going for an X-ray - nobody else did! It went down to -4° (your 25° I think) last night but we're due winds, rain and higher temperatures at the weekend. Not good for those here already flooded at least once - some twice - since November. Many never flooded before but how our climate worldwide is changing ☹️. I give thanks for being able to take pleasure in the small things and being able to stitch.
