Thank You for this excellent video! I have this engine on a North Star generator and I’ve narrowed the issue down to the carburetor. I took off the air filter to get to it and realized this is not a quick bolt on part 🥴. You explained everything perfectly and even gave pointers on things to pay attention to during the breakdown/install 🎉
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Great video. I don’t like the idea of no mixture screws. But that the way it is.
I would have put a small rag in those intake holes on the heads before using the grinder to clean up the gasket surface. And I know it would not much dirt from doing that. But that’s just me. We all do things differently.
Have a great week.
Thanks, Agee no adjustment screws sucks! Yes most times we put a paper towel up in them, rag is hard to get far enough in without catching it with the wheel lol. Then we wipe them out. But when making videos we sometimes forget some little things as we are trying to remember to talk about everything lol. But the good news is they were soft rolloc fiber wheels on the end so not very abrasive but set up for polishing. Thanks for watching and the comment and have a great one!

I was curious what the reason was for replacing the carburetor? Is a rebuild kit not
available? I have one of these Vanguard 16hp twin engines and I'm trying to learn
as much as I can about them. I put in a parts order last night, awaiting shipment.
Thanks much for your videos!
Hi Thanks for the order! So The rebuild kits are very pricey and come with not much more than gaskets and few seals etc. For the price kind of halfway to a new carb. So depends on your carb but throttle shafts do wear. If you have dirt gas it also can wear a carb as well. Some carbs get damaged by someone messing around etc. Often say for simple math a shop charges 15o for a carb kit and 150 to rebuild at that point better to get a new one as the labor to take it one and off is the same. Thanks again and Happy Easter!
What an ordeal.
Not too bad the Briggs come out pretty fast. But they really should have made it so blower housing doesn't have to be be removed, agree. Thanks for commenting and watching.
How much the carburator?
Hi available on our website for current pricing www.caseingersolltractors.com/engine-related-parts-kits
As always, another informative video. Thanks for your time and efforts.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Yes welcome ,because I have a problem with my engine
Yes the thumbnail has a typo so if ya came here for that, sorry you are late.. But thanks for the view lol...
BAHAHAHA.
Thanks for the video

I HAVE SAME TRACTOR 200 HRS JUST STARTED NOT GETTING FUEL ONE CYLINDER ..LOTS SPARK JUST NO FUEL RIGHT SIDE .VALVES ALL ADJUSTED WHAT COULD MY PROBLEM BE THANKS BRUCE
Hi The fuel will go to both cylinders through a open shared manifold both will get fuel. If you lost spark on a cylinder chances are its a bad coil. Check out our video on Replacing Vanguard coils. ANd here is a link to one of our coil Kits, This one Is OEM Briggs. www.caseingersolltractors.com/product-page/c34294-c34289-briggs-coil-kit-and-oem-diode-connecting-wire Thanks
THANKS BUT LOTS SPARK BOTH CYLINDERS JUST NOT GETTING FUEL TO RIGHT SIDE THATS WHATS BAFFLING@@caseingersolltractorsnortheast
@brucekozik9689 ok so if your key is getting 12 volts and no spark you need the kit I linked in my last comment. How are you determining you are not get fuel in both cylinders?? Do you have compression in both cylinders?
THE CYLINDER IS AT 65 PSI OUTHER SIDE 90 START MOTOR AND PULL PLUG WIRE NOT FIREING PLUG COLD NEVER SMOKED OR USE OIL @@caseingersolltractorsnortheast
@brucekozik9689 ok so your cylinder is not firing that does not mean it's not getting fuel. There is a compression issue with that engine 90 psi is very low for a briggs Vanguard and 65 is a major issue. The one with 65 has a valve/push rod issue, blown head gasket or hit dusted and rings and cylinder got damaged.
Very clear tutorial. Thank you. I have a carb that's getting flooded, gas will drip out. I replaced the needle, and got it to run, but only with no air filter. After turning off, still was flooding. Should I replace carb? Thanks
Hi Thanks! What model engine? Did you use a high capacity OEM air filter? Thanks for watching and the comment. Talk soon.
@@caseingersolltractorsnortheast 16 HP v twin
Model 303447
Not a high capacity air filter, but it's pretty new
Sounds like maybe a bad float or needs adjustment. Is it the orginal carb? Is your fuel pump a oem pulse pump and not electric?
@@caseingersolltractorsnortheast yes, original carb and OEM fuel pump
@@carlzirk I would make sure check is not failed and has fuel in it and try adjusting it so it sits a bit lower
Appreciate the videos , you make it look easy .
Thanks lol. Appreciate you watching and the feed back man. Editing can make anyone look good lol...
I just wanna see how the throttle cables get hooked up...4 videos over an hour so sick of the internet everything's gota be a 20 min video for adds
Lol... So I think you have some more issues going than a little throttle cable... But The title nor the description says anything about the simple task of hooking up the throttle cable. Nor was it shown as its pretty self explanatory and is not required to replace the carb so no its not included... Also we do not make videos based on length lmao... And for a video specifically on how to remove, replace and install a carb If I do so say I do not think 20 min is very long lol.. But do agree if it was on "how to hook up the throttle cable" it would be 26 seconds... So I am not sure how your personal issues and frustration with something billions do of every minute of every day, and you choosing to watch a video that does not mention the specific thing you are looking for warrants your negative comment on my video lol😂?? I will also agree maybe the internet is not for you. The ironic thing is out of roughly 5000 at the time who watched you seem to be one of the only ones who did not find the video helpful...humm... Now if you instead did what most normal decent people do all the time and messaged us your issues you were struggling with even unrelated to the video, we would have been happy to help as we do for countless people daily.... But we do appreciate that you watched the video (and ads You Tube picks and places where they want) imagine ya we like to get paid for our time and effort and skills too like everyone else in the world. Also do appreciate the time for the comment as it always helps too😊. I assume by now you have your cable hooked up too.🎉 Have a better day!
