All right you’ve opened a can of worms here. Nightwish Army on the way. It is a singing show but not a competition. There are seven singers and the take turns at being sung to by the other six. The whole 8 episodes are worth watching. Each singer from a different genre. Denise Hofs has done English subtitles - search her name. But you absolutely have to check out Nightwish - Ghost Love Score. Just follow your nose from there.
The concept of the show is to have 7 professional singers of very different style, singing songs for each other (one show per person). They try-out each others style, rework the song of the person on the couch in the middel to their own taste, or sing something which relates to their past. Just to have fun: not a competition. The 8th episode are duets. Search for "Beste Zangers 2019" to see more of Floor and Henk (and the other singers are very interesting as well)
Floor was a big fan of Henk growing up... ;) So its a fangirl singing with her idol :D
Beste Zangers (best singers) is a Dutch TV show that draws together singers and they basically sing to each other. It is not a competition.Each week someone is in the hot seat and the other Singers deliver a song that has meaning for the hot seat singer. They go into the back story of "the chosen one" in a very family oriented setting at a Spanish resort. Thank you for reacting to this.
Henk poort was an original dutch Phantom of the Opera. Floor grew up idolizing him. This is actually the Nightwish playstyle of the song
Floor is one the most versatile female singer and she is a vocalist from Nightwish. Henk Poort as you know is an opera singer, he is a baritone. This Phantom of The Opera was Nightwish version, and yes they were amazing in this duet. Thanks for your reaction 👍

Each year the TV show, Beste Zangers (Best Singers) picks 6 or 7 Dutch singers that they consider to be the best performers in their respective genres. Ironically, Floor has performed with her symphonic metal band, Nightwish, throughout Europe, Latin America and the US, but she is not well known in Holland since metal music isn't popular there. Originally Floor was indecisive about participating on the 3 week long show until she found out that Henk Poort, one of her opera idols, was also participating. She was chosen to sing the first song of the show and decided to sing "Vilja Lied" as a tribute to Henk. Most of the performers didn't expect much from Floor since they thought all metal singers were primarily screamers or growlers, not understanding that symphonic metal bands often use female lead singers with classical training. The look on the other singers' faces when Floor broke out her operatic voice in " Vilja Lied" was priceless, even better than the Phantom. "Vilja Lied" Beste Zangers 2019
The band is playing Nightwish’s version of Phantom which is the band Floor Jansen sings in. Amazing singer but also their old singer Tarja Turnen also did a version of it. It’s worth checking out!
The format of this program is great. Each season they have about 8 Dutch popular stars all from different genres of music. Each week is dedicated to one person and the other singers sing things from their repertoire. Henk Poort sings in Phantom of the Opera in Holland and in Opera and musicals. Floor is a metal goddess. It is not a contest. So they end up doing pop, metal, Latin, folk etc. After this program Henk Poort has sung in concerts with Nightwish as well.

Henk also played the Phantom in the Dutch language production of the musical. They used the Nightwish cover version for this. In about a year from now Henk is going to perform this with Nightwish at their Amsterdam show.
The people on the couch are singers too. The concept is simple. Each episode one of them is in the spotlight, and the other singers sing songs from his or her reportoire and make their own twist to it. The last episode is the duet episode. Each singer then chooses a duet partner and sings a duet. This duet was Floor’s choice because she admires Henk and wanted to sing the phantom with him. Henk played the Phantom 20 years ago, it is his most well-known role. There is no competition, it’s all about sharing the love for music and enjoying each others company. If you like dramatic music then Floor’s band, Nightwish, might be something for you. Check out Ghost LoveScore from their show on Wacken Open Air 2013. You’ll be amazed!
Great reaction guys. That was a great duet performance to end the show, Floor & Henk chemistry were amazing. FYI Floor Jansen is known as Queen of Metal. She is a versatile singer, she can demonstrate different styles of singing.

Henk is the original Phantom of the Dutch production of the musical, and a musical hero to her, Floor.
Floor can sing any genre and style - period 😁. That said, her covers of "Shallow" and "Mama" from the same show are worth listen to 🙂. Floor with Nightwish, where to start, "Ghost Love Score" (Wacken 2013) is perhaps their most played track and good starting point to get into their music and Floor's singing, also in heavier notes 🙂

Floor is one of the best and most versatile female vocalists in a generation.
This was the duet all the Floor fans in the world were hoping to see. Floor's band Nightwish had done a rock/metal version of "The Phantom of the Opera" many years before (albeit, with a different lead singer). Everyone wanted to hear Floor do it, especially with professional opera singer Henk Poort, who was the original Dutch Phantom (as well as the original Jean Valjean).
