Coming from someone who drives both a conventional AT and a CVT, I think the jerkiness is due to driving habit. When I first got to drive a CVT, due to the slower response, I tend to be heavier on the accelerator and when the power hits, there is a jerkiness to it. This only happens at low speeds because at higher speeds (above 40km/h), the CVT is more responsive and I won't be heavy on the accelerator. It'll require a change in driving habit but due to this I personally prefer conventional AT over CVT.

But we also can't rule out the fact that some cars do have minor defects coming out of the factories. Probably the owner was just unlucky to get a unit with minor defect which causes the constant jerks in his car. Whatever it is, hopefully the owner will be able to solve the issue.
The jerkyness is real for Punch Powertrain CVT.I have a Saga Premium CVT and the car definitely is not as smooth as torque converter based CVT.I just did oil levelling and clutch adaptation for the gearbox and the jerking is still there.
jerkiness in cvt is a thing some will notice, and some will never do. It's all to do with the way the torque converter is calibrated. If you have any doubts, you could ask for the transmission to be scanned to see if it's all in good condition, sometimes flashing transmission fluid could help to solve the problem, in some worse cases the problem might also caused by programming errors.

If you consider ativa, means you can afford persona premium.. seriously much improved car.. the interior look like continental car. I believe persona premium way more value for money, fits your need.. comfortable driving exp.
You're are welcome. I think the Ativa has its own perks. It's a good-looking small SUV, and has some nice features as well. And not to mention the cheap roadtax. But the cabin seems quite small. And if compare to the persona, the persona is so much more spacious and comfortable inside. The persona brown leatherette seats are amazing. I have never driven the Ativa, so i can't comment on the driving experience. But the persona 2022 i can say it drives really well and smoothly. Even though the persona is a sedan, it actually feels like driving a small SUV like HRV, because the car is actually quite tall and the seats are positioned higher. So you also get better visibility. But anyway, i think both are fantastic cars for the price. 🙂

I bought my new persona in 2018 and I did experience this jerkiness sometimes at low speed especially during trafic or when slow down at road bumper. My car mileage reached 87k end of 2023 and I did a normal timing belt change and guess what, this jerking issue no longer there. I will re-visit the workshop this week and find what have they done.
Im driving the 2016 version. Up till today I still experi3nce the jerkiness but not so annoying type if you go with flow😁. But its very fascinating and enjoying car. I also own a car which having 6At (zf), thats also jerk in between. So no matter it is AT or CVT, jerkiness existed.
im driving mc2 persona for 7 months, jerking does not happen when there is no acceleration. Try to accelerate immediately after the brake release, assuming you are crossing a super busy junction where you need immediate acceleration, then share your comment again here. The other issue is gear kosong when you let the car roll to the toll plaza followed by some accelerate, there is a 1 second of gear kosong..try it

Gear kosong might be the brake switch. I replaced mine and the gear kosong is fixed.Can do it manually its quite simple. But the jerkiness is still there.. and im using Sona 2016 vvt
At low speeds, I mean really low speeds, about 5 kph, press the accelerator. When the car moves, don't release the accelerator. Keep the speed constant. It (at least my car) will definitely jerk. This is Iriz 1.3 standard, year 2022. The proton service center said no problem. Well, the service center does not even have the space to verify this behavior. They brought me onto public roads. But on public roads where you have to keep driving at 10-20 kph, of course it won't jerk. Basically, those with a heavy foot won't experience jerks, because they never drive at that speed. So, the remedy I found is, after the car moves, release the accelerator. Then in most cases, I can avoid the jerks. This is not ideal, but what do you do when the service center cannot reproduce the problem, because it has no space for doing so?
Hi, want to ask you.. do you know how to lock the bonet ? Even though already press the lock button for the car, but still the bonet can be open without press the unlock button at the key 😅
Hi, i think that's because you have your key remote close to the car. The back boot works like your keyless entry door, if your key is near, you can open the door of the car. The same with the car boot. If your key remote is close by, you can open the boot even when it's locked. Try leaving your key far away, you will notice that you can't open the car boot when its locked. I hope this info helps.

Yes the trims are originally black in colour. Because the premium edition originally came with black roof. Now i heard the premium edition dont come with black roof anymore so it makes sense that the pillar follow the body colour.

I am glad that you have not experienced any jerkiness at all. I guess we are lucky. 🙂Interm's of fuel consumption, it's hard to say because this car has been driven by different members of the family. So the driving style might be different and the numbers might be inconsistent. But in all honesty, I think on average I am getting around 6.5 - 7.0L / 100km. How about you?

I think what the person means jerky is when you stuck in heavy traffic the gear change is not smooth compare other cvt or torque converter gearbox. The reason is this cvt using clutch system not like honda or toyota using cvt with torque converter gearbox.

If you don't feel it maybe you are not sensitive about it or used driving old car too much you feel this car is great. Even proton acknowledge about this issue, the fact is this CVT using clutch base not torque converter and definitely it will have same issue similar like DCT gearbox at heavy traffic low speed driving because both using clutch
Yes! I agree. In terms of interior, i think persona got the edge over thr bezza. The leatherette seats are just amazing. It's comfortable and looks pretty good. Makes the car feel abit more premium inside. 👍

220kmph on the meter but on the road i think 180kmph is the cap.
