I’ve got a 6” long arm rough country on my Jeep tj and 38.5 boggers. I’m debating on if I want to do 8.8 rear and a g2 up front or mess with 1tons. Do you think even though the one tons are heavy that they’d still handle better/smoother on road just bc they’d have a better stance or do you think g2 and 8.8 would ride better?
1 tons on a TJ is overkill... it's like putting them on a go-kart. i mean you can, but why? dana 44 is perfectly fine for something as light and small as a TJ wrangler.
@@TheAverageJeepers Im doing the same swap. I understand if your building a crawler doing it that way . Im trying to daily mine. Either way thanks for the content bud keep Yeeeeeeeepin
Cody3232 Cody3232 you still use control arms to adjust pinion angle. Truss can only fit one way, doesn’t matter if it’s daily driven or not. Best thing to do is for the rear set pinion directly at output of tcase and front can be around 6 to 8 degrees pos caster.
Didn't need to pre heat tube if you weld on the spots. We didn't weld the diff in this video. Also Jon had to take some time off jeeps to train. He still has his jeep.maybe we will make a video on that
Nice truss setup. Had a set of Dana 60 front had hydraulic steering. 4.88 gears wanted to put it under a sprint car with a v6 for power plant . Would have made a great rock buggy. Lost it all durning a break up. Id like to have a set under my Cherokee
Pretty much idiot-proof - unless you're grinding and welding on dry leaves next to gas cans LoL - safety first guys, and never pick up a grinder without wearing thick leather welding gloves and safety glasses.
Let me try to explain. We upload weekly as we work on and do jeep related things. We are a small channel and do this for fun. We also have real full time jobs, families, and multiple projects going on. Check out the play list to catch up
Nice work! I'm doing a TJ One ton swap on my channel now and appreciate some of the pointers on here!

What did you set the pinion angle on before you tacked truss?
The truss can only sit one way. We used control arms to adjust pinion angle

@@CardinalOffroad I get what you're saying bud.
mmm One Tons, I am excited for this project
I'm excited myself
"Project TJ" very creative lol
I guess there is no need to preheat the axle tubes and diff. to prevent cracking? How is John's 1ton swap coming along?

But yes you pre heat the diff to 450. We cover it in part 2
